How could I dump my stock rom boot.img without root or TWRP? - OnePlus 8 Questions & Answers

For context I'm running a OnePlus 8 IN2017 on Android 13, it's bootloader is unlocked
I want to root my phone with magisk using this guide:
Installation
The Magic Mask for Android
topjohnwu.github.io
But I need a boot.img, even If I didn't I want to have a backup of my stock firmware just in case something goes wrong.
Now if I was on Android 12 I could just use TWRP but TWRP seems to have no versions for Android 13 yet and obviously I'm not rooted yet either.
Is there anyway I could dump my firmware without root or TWRP?

Help with wifi

So i was on Android 10 with G710N Korean model when i decided to root and have a custom rom. i cross-flashed to ULM11g to have fastboot mode available through which i got root and twrp.
Then using patched LGUP, flashed to Android Pie using Partition DL to keep my root and twrp.
After flashing to Pie, i noticed my WiFi will be on but was not able to find any WiFi even when i was sitting next to the router.
NB>>>> The partitions I didn't flash when I was upgrading to Pie was just boot_a and boot_b.
Can anyone please help me get back my WiFi.
I would be so GRATEFUL
Thanks in Advance

So you downgraded to pie without changing the boot partitions??
You need to install the complete ROM and then patch the boot images for root.
If you are referring to bootloader unlock and not root, then you will not lose that on installing custom ROMs. But you will lose root and twrp which you just need to do again.

Thanks for replying.
I went from Android 10 to 8 on ULM11g to have bootloader unlocked and gain root and twrp access.
Then flashed to Android 9 Pie with ULM20e but didnt flash both boot images so as to preserve root and twrp.
But after flashing all partitions except boot_a and boot_b, i noticed WiFi was not able to detect any network.
I still have bootloader unlocked and twrp with root.

Firstly You should flash a ROM suitable for your hardware G710N, otherwise there will be compatibility issues.
Second, you need to flash the complete ROM. Use cross flash guide to do that.
After that you need to root.

How can I put Android 11 on a rooted phone ?

I'm going to root my phone (Motorola One Fusion+). After that I want to put Android 11 on it, because it is running Android 10 currently.
So I am asking how can I put Android 11 on it after I root it ?
To upgrade a phone's Android it's not required that Android got rooted.

I want to root it anyway.
So I use TWRP to put Android 11 on the device, okay.
Two more questions:
-Where I can find Android 11 installment to download ?
-To install Android 11 before rooting or after rooting ? Or it doesn't matter ?
You
1. Install TWRP
2. Via TWRP flash a Custom ROM ( based on Android 11 ) like LineageOS what must at 100% match your phone
If flashed Custom ROM isn't already pre-rooted then you root it

proper way to use TWRP and clean flash rom?

New GM1915 T-Mobile OnePlus 7 Pro user here...
I seemed to be out of the loop since the release of AB partition, android 10 and so-on...
I did everything here says, unlocked the bootloader, unlocked the sim, converted to international, twrp, and root...
[GUIDE] How to convert TMobile OP7 to International.
First of all this is not my work I only tested theirs. Credit to themustached for finding that a patched .ops was the solution. This guy doesn't even have the damn phone yet and did this for us so show some love. You can donate to him through...

and when I want to try other rom or revert back to OOS stock, I missed up and brick a the phone 3 times already....each time I have to use MSM tool and flash the rom to Android 9.x...which is missing something twrp needs, So I need to do a OTA update to Android 10.x before I can install twrp and root.....
Q1: say I have a working system at android 10, twrp and root, If I want do a clean flash of the rom, do I now only wipe the (user data partition in the twrp advance wipe) or the (data wipe that you will need to put type yes and wipes everything)?
Q2: is there an updated T-Mobile .ops file to use with MsmDownloadTool? So I can restore to android 10 in 1 step?
Thank you
Looking for an updated .ops file as well my phone is bricked with android 11 and can't seem to get msmdownloadtool to work with my bricked oneplus 7 pro

How do you install TWRP forever even after flashing OTA and magiks? On Andorid 10?

I already know how to install the unofficail TWRP firmware for my Pixel 4a but it goes back to the custom roms recovery or stock recovery almost every time even after installing ramdisk. What's going on?
Since you are on Android 10, I don't think there will be anymore OTA updates because I think they are only for android 11 at the moment.
To get TWRP to "stick", you probably need to install a custom kernel that has ramdisk built into it as shown in this guide:

Hello, I'm posting this guide for those (like me) who can't do without TWRP on their device. I'm providing only a step-by-step explanation. Credits to @nikamura for his kernel and TWRP...

Question Root Oneplus 9 with android 12 already installed

Can i unlock the bootloader and then boot to twrp recovery (from pc) to install magisk.zip or does this not work for android 12 ?
TWRP not compatible with android 12, yet.
i presume you know that when you unlock the bootloader, your device will be reset to factory?
Yes I know that unlocking the bootloader will factory reset the device. Is there some recovery I can use with Android 12 ?
I can't find a guide on how to root from scratch android 12.

Gaining root access on New Oxygen OS A12 for the op9.
https://www.droidwin.com/root-oneplus-9-pro-9r-magisk-without-twrp/ Just sharing what I've learned. Have to patch boot.img and vendor boot.img and flash out of folder in sdk on desktop. Then use vb_meta.img to disable verity flash. Guide above...

Didn't look very hard. I made this thread months ago. It's here in op9 section how to guide.
