Recently, Nokia made us happy by fulfilling their promise to update our Nokia 6 to Android Pie. It's very exciting until you find out there is no way to root or even use TWRP on this device when Pie is installed.
Worry not, I've found a way to install TWRP and root our Nokia 6 using Magisk. Follow the guides below!
/!\ WARNING! This process requires you to unlock your Nokia 6 bootloader first. Bootloader unlock isn't officially available nor supported yet, so it is paid and MOST LIKELY you would have to downgrade your device first to Oreo with older security patch to unlock it (which requires more cash)
OK, if you are ready, proceed to next two threads for TWRP installations and root

/!\ TWRP installs on today standards' phones are strongly discouraged by the community. To be safe, always mod your Android device when your modding companion devices - be it a PC or a laptop, are nearby and connectable to your phone. After all, it's up to you to install the TWRP or not. /!\

• Download the TWRP image from the link provided in the OP.
• Put your phone into fastboot mode
• Use the " fastboot flash recovery recovery_mod.img " command
• Done!
> To just boot (preserve stock recovery)
• Download the TWRP image from the link provided in the OP.

• Done! It should be booted to TWRP now.

• Root guide (untested) •
• Download both the Magisk Manager apk and the Magisk installer zip from the link in OP. Place it into your phone's internal storage.
• Install the Magisk Manager apk (you have to install the Manager first)
• Boot into TWRP (guide on above thread) or reboot to recovery (if you flashed TWRP, again the guide is on above thread)
• Back up your boot partition first (strongly recommended, but not mandatory)
• Flash the Magisk installer zip
• Wipe dalvik and cache, if needed.
• Reboot
• Done!

Not worked for me my bootloader is unlocked and i flashed this twrp on my ta- 1021 but it's not booting up on twrp

Thanks for your contribution! This should also work on TA-1000/1003 and all the Nokia 5.

welp, i already said it's the safest to just boot to TWRP via fastboot than flashing it into your phone, so you can test it whether if it's booting before flashing.

Nope you can try methods to unlock bootloader but i will suggest you to buy bootloader key from techmesto .
I have purchased the key from techmesto then i unlocked my bootloader. you can run this command to unlock your phone's bootloader.
Fastboot flash unlock (key.bin)
Then fastboot oem unlock-go

You can search how to unlock bootloader of nokia 6 in search options you will know how to do it
So i was on Android 10 with G710N Korean model when i decided to root and have a custom rom. i cross-flashed to ULM11g to have fastboot mode available through which i got root and twrp.
Then using patched LGUP, flashed to Android Pie using Partition DL to keep my root and twrp.
After flashing to Pie, i noticed my WiFi will be on but was not able to find any WiFi even when i was sitting next to the router.
NB>>>> The partitions I didn't flash when I was upgrading to Pie was just boot_a and boot_b.
Can anyone please help me get back my WiFi.
I would be so GRATEFUL

So you downgraded to pie without changing the boot partitions??
You need to install the complete ROM and then patch the boot images for root.
If you are referring to bootloader unlock and not root, then you will not lose that on installing custom ROMs. But you will lose root and twrp which you just need to do again.

I went from Android 10 to 8 on ULM11g to have bootloader unlocked and gain root and twrp access.
Then flashed to Android 9 Pie with ULM20e but didnt flash both boot images so as to preserve root and twrp.
But after flashing all partitions except boot_a and boot_b, i noticed WiFi was not able to detect any network.
I still have bootloader unlocked and twrp with root.

Firstly You should flash a ROM suitable for your hardware G710N, otherwise there will be compatibility issues.
Second, you need to flash the complete ROM. Use cross flash guide to do that.
After that you need to root.

I have a P20 Pro with unlocked bootloader, i decided to updated the phone trought OTA by flashing original recovery and instal OTA of Android 10.
After that i wanted to get back to TWRP then root my phone, but i get surprised that the phone bootloader get locked again after update.
I need to unlock my bootloader again in order to use my phone. the command in fastboot : fastboot oem unlock **************** (i put my old unlocking code which already worked 2 years ago)
but i get as a result :

You idiot EMUI 10 cannot be bootloader unlocked, downgrade to EMUI 9.0!!!
If you want android 10 or even 11 you need something called a GSI, which I can inform you about it.

GSI Project treble rom.
The definition is https://source.android.com/setup/bu...tem image (GSI,or higher can run successfully.
Google's Offical GSI will not boot on huaweis though.

use 7zip(https://www.7-zip.org/a/7z1900-x64.exe) to extract the file once and rename it to system.img and move to C drive WITHOUT under any folders.
Then go to recovery and factory reset, do not advance wipe, wipe>factory reset only
Then go to fastboot and
fastboot flash system C:\system.img
Failing to follow will result in rage!
Backup System, Vendor, Data and Internal storage in TWRP before doing anything will be a wise choice, in case anything is wrong.
Forgot to mention you must flash magisk in TWRP before installing rom, to disable AVB(Android Vertified Boot) so that a custom rom can be loaded.

Yeah for sur, i'm rolling back, unlocking BL then TWRP in order to get a full backup. I ll check the rom after that
A senior member refer to for EMUI 10 upgrading :
"Don't update system via OTA when phone is rooted or bootloader unlock. Flash firmware via erecovery and rooted again"
i think this is incorrect right ? he cant root again while on EMUI 10 ?

the lasted TWRP release cant decrypt the data, trying to find a working one and the phone don't want to boot to recovery anymore even with volume up + power bouton or via command adb reboot recovery. seems a good day hahaha

well i'm stuck with twrp not decrypting my data
i managed to install TWRP (several version), boot on them and so nothing to do
also can get root easily and magisk as i sideload zip from crypted TWRP version (worked)
tried the version twrp_clt_0.1.img from XDA stuck on TWRP starting screen
i'm almost giving up
Extract Android 11 Gsi, rename to system.img and move to C drive , not under any folders.
Go to fastboot then
Fastboot erase data
Fastboot erase cache
Fastboot flash system C:\system.img
I have the OTA file downloaded and I know how to use adb, but I can’t find exact directions on how to do this. Thanks for any help.

This works for me
Fastboot boot into TWRP,, ( TWRP nebrassy edition)
install trwp via advance settings
reboot into recovery
send a copy of your ota oos over to your phone ,
flash oss ,
reboot into oss recovery
Format data in oss stock recovery
Reboot
just find a way to relock your bootloader, it will revert you to stock completely.

I updated to ColorOS12 and accidentely rebooted, before flashing Magisk and TWRP.
My question is now: Can flash TWRP the ususal way WITHOUT losing my data?
Bootloader is unlocked of course.
TWRP doesn't work on Android 12 and flashing Magisk with recovery isn't supported anymore anyway.
Are you actually on ColorOS or are you calling OxygenOS ColorOS? If you're on OOS, you can get patched images here (there is a guide linked in the post too).

Now as we have TWRP for any A11-13 ROMs, there's no need for boot image patching, just flash magisk in TWRP. Hi! There's a great root guide here on xda by @zymphad and i thought i'd share the boot images for different OOS and Paranoid Android...

Just boot the C.47 image and direct install once it's up. As long as you don't flash it, it should work to get the device up and running with root to install.
And no, flashing the boot image doesn't wipe data.
