Last year Google announced it was retiring the Reminders app and instead transitioning everything to Google Tasks. Back in Feb 2023, Google provided an update that the transition would start on March 6, 2023 with the rollout taking place over the following 15 days. This transition would allow users to create tasks in Google Tasks using voice commands to Google Assistant.
It's now been a couple of months and I'm still not able to create tasks using the Google Assistant. When I say, for example: "Hey Google, create a task to call mom on Tuesday" I get the response "I can't do that yet".
Is this working for anyone else?

Seems to work for me
What do you do to create a task using the Assistant?
Here's another example, if I say "Hey Google create a task to buy milk" it says "Sorry, I can't create tasks yet".

Can you share what you did?
I said the word task differently the first time then I did this time. I just did your exact command and it said the same thing yours did. So it looks like it's not working
It looks like a server-side switch just turned on.
I was just able to tell Google Assistant "Remind me to buy milk" and it created a task in Google Tasks! Finally!!
I've been testing this periodically since March and it was still using Google Reminders. I don't know what triggered the change, though.

Has anyone used the web app for Google Voice on an HD2.
That seems to be the only viable alternative for Windows Mobile since Google's GV app is primarily for Android.
Any updates on this?
I need to know this too.. Im having a hard time deciding if I should get the Nexus One or the HTC HD2. One of the pros of having an android device is my google voice account which I dont wanna give up (I currently have a G1). I'm leaning more towards the HD2 at this point because of all the issues/reports with the N1, and if there is an app for google voice on WM it will definitely be a plus!
You can use this to call

iDIALER (see the bottom part of the page)
http://supware.net/iDialer/
It acts as a dialer to call through your google voice account. Just dial the number (you'll have to log in the very first time you make a call) and it will automatically make the call. There will not be any prompts.
TO text you can actually save that random number that you receive when someone texts you to your google voice number. Save it as a second phone number to that contact and when ever you text that person use that random google number and it will always text that particular person and show your google voice phone number on their phone.
Only thing is that you can't play back voicemail... youll have to go to the website and download it to your phone. Or you can also do the transcription but thats not always perfect.
There you go... You get the perks of google voice.
Let's face it, we all have contacts that nobody seems to care to stick your friend's picture on. Then, what's the point of having these (reserved empty space for profile photo)?
It's definitely not cool to have a list of Alphabets.

Now, the solution to this is to rip their photos from......where? Of course, it has to be the most active users messenger app - WhatsApp. Truth to be told, it is and statistics don't lie (ehhh).
Well, the biggest issue with WhatsApp is it's tremendously "secured" that it offers ZERO API to the public. Hence, it was quite tricky and difficult to figure out a solution to rip the photos from the app.
Although, I'd manage to be able to collect the photos from the platform automatically, it definitely wasn't the best experience out there. Technically none, until someone else decides to do something about it, which I hope the company will.
Let's take a quick glance at the review and description of the current apps that offers "Contact photo sync" features.
"* WhatsApp (semi-automatically: contact pictures have to be downloaded in WhatsApp manually, the rest is done by the app)"

That suck. Big time.
I know it may not be a huge deal to some of you, but every time I look at my dialer I knew something has to done.

Anyway, I need a few of community members to test out the extension (Chrome only) that I've created before it's ever going to be released.
You will need to have a computer, a cable, Chrome browser and to install an extra app that aid the process to sync the photo to the contact.
Also, to throw in an extra question, can root technique solves the problem by intruding WhatsApp, the app itself? Will there be a miracle?
I've created an android app which will forward persistent notifications to the Gear S2. I's a work in progress but I believe I have it stable enough to use. I mostly created this originally to get google maps turn by turn on my watch and haven't tested much past that. If you feel up to it please download the development build and let me know what you think. After installing the app make sure you launch it, tap the three bard in the top right, tap "Notification Settings" and finally set "Gear S2 Persistant Notifications" to on. Once you've done this you should start seeing them appear on your watch. If you want to hide any notifications open the app and uncheck the box, this will cause that notification to no-longer appear on your watch. Bugs will be tracked using GitHub so if you wind any issues please post them there!

Google Maps
anybody use this? i'm thinking about pulling the trigger on a gear S2 and the google maps thing would be huge for when i'm on the motorcycle.
Super useful. But it's force closing a lot on the LG v20 stock Android 7.0
An Example: Deleting a file within FX File Explorer causes your app to force close.
Been able to reproduce the issue every time.
I published Last Time, a complete event timeline manager.
Ever wondered the last time you did something or when something happened but struggled to remember? Last Time app keeps a neat timeline for you so you never forget.
Get the app on the Play Store.
Main features:
Simple, minimalistic interface, with light and dark themes.
Group related events so you can easily find or update them at the same time if needed. Sort events by last entry, history count, or creation date.
Store notes in each event entry. See the time between entries and since the creation of each entry. Search entries by date-range or notes.
Schedule notifications to remind you of your events. Adaptive notifications smartly adapt to your last entry for each event and remind you at the right time. Easily add entries from the notification.
Beautiful widgets, available in both light and dark themes to put your events on your home screen so they're always in front of you. Easily add entries from the widget.
No advertisements, behavior tracking, or intrusive permissions in the app. The app is free, works completely offline, and requires no internet connection.

I made the app for personal use and have used it for some months now, if there's something you'd like to see added, let me know.
If you love the app, leave a review on the Play Store.
Yeah so I'm running pixel experience based on android 11 and Google Assistant is acting really weird. Tbh I don't really know if it's because of the rom it not but I enrolled in the Google app beta quite a while ago (although I've unenrolled now) cause I wanted to experience that new Assistant UI earlier. Well now it only shows the new UI when I'm logged in with one of the 3 Google accounts I have on my phone. Also when I press on Unlock new features, and it comes to the Alarm routine screen, pressing next crashes the screen. I'm a complete noob and I'll be really grateful if anyone could help me out.

Found a post on Reddit that mentioned this - thought it was utter rubbish but ... It worked for me.
Change your settings to light mode (disable dark mode) and try again and it'll proceed.
