Let's face it, we all have contacts that nobody seems to care to stick your friend's picture on. Then, what's the point of having these (reserved empty space for profile photo)?
It's definitely not cool to have a list of Alphabets.

Now, the solution to this is to rip their photos from......where? Of course, it has to be the most active users messenger app - WhatsApp. Truth to be told, it is and statistics don't lie (ehhh).
Well, the biggest issue with WhatsApp is it's tremendously "secured" that it offers ZERO API to the public. Hence, it was quite tricky and difficult to figure out a solution to rip the photos from the app.
Although, I'd manage to be able to collect the photos from the platform automatically, it definitely wasn't the best experience out there. Technically none, until someone else decides to do something about it, which I hope the company will.
Let's take a quick glance at the review and description of the current apps that offers "Contact photo sync" features.
"* WhatsApp (semi-automatically: contact pictures have to be downloaded in WhatsApp manually, the rest is done by the app)"

That suck. Big time.
I know it may not be a huge deal to some of you, but every time I look at my dialer I knew something has to done.

Anyway, I need a few of community members to test out the extension (Chrome only) that I've created before it's ever going to be released.
You will need to have a computer, a cable, Chrome browser and to install an extra app that aid the process to sync the photo to the contact.
Also, to throw in an extra question, can root technique solves the problem by intruding WhatsApp, the app itself? Will there be a miracle?

Google announced today that the Hangout app for Android and iOS will get a major update. It starts today with the Android, the version for iOS will follow later.
This update will be focused on "staying connected with friends and family", who then is the purpose of basic Hangouts and any messenger program.
We see point point what are the new notes, although Google says that there are others not announced, but find out only after trying the app:
Sticker : penguins, pirates, koalas and of course cats at will! 16 new sticker pack (and more coming), saying with images what words can not.
Filters for video calls : sepia, vignette, black and white and others. Just a swipe during a video call to try them all and make the conversation more original.
Last seen : the same way as WhatsApp, Hangouts will inform us of the last activity of our contacts
Smart suggestions during conversations : for example, if someone asks "where are you?", Hangouts will show an option to share our location on the fly.
And beyond that, of course, the graphics in Material Design .
At the moment we don't have the APK to share, and for now the Play Store does not give hints to update, but we will update this article when it becomes available the file to download. Bookmark this and Stay tuned!
I've got an idea recently what if I want to see pictures from the places not from the person. Unfortunately I didn't find any good implementations of this simple idea. To tell the truth, I had found two projects but I found them too complicated and not really serving the simple idea Stick to the place and have your updates.
Here is how my implementation works. First, you have to subscribe to any area you want to receive notifications from:

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Notice that after area is selected you'll be asked how often you wish to receive notifications from this particular area.
Basically, that's it. You may have as many subscriptions as you wish.
When new picture is made in this area you receive a notification.
In order for system to satisfy users there should be some way for the new pictures to populate the service. And this way is making one picture when user opens this application where ever he is located at the moment. Making any street view picture for the user shouldn't be a problem. Besides, it's not about art.. it's only a snapshot of what is actually surrounding you at the moment. To avoid annoyance on app start I added friendly option to skip making a picture. Obviously there are some situations when it's not convenient to make a street-view picture although user is curious to see what is this notification he received about.
Anyway, when picture is made or not you're getting an access to the map with all markers. Any new notifications will be put on map automatically and there's no need to make any new snapshots.
Also there's a way to filter markers in case you want to see only a certain markers on the map:
Get it on GooglePlay: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.project_x.pavel.myapplicationx
(SORRY IT'S NOT FORMATTED AS A LINK AS XDA-DEVELOPERS DOESN'T ALLOW TO INSERT LINKS FOR NEW MEMBERS)
Please feel welcome.
Give it a try.

If those are questions that keep you awake at night (or if you just like colorful graphs) then this is the app for you.

Please let me know what you think of my app, all suggestions are welcome. I would also really appreciate reviews on Google Play.
Excellent app mate, are there any possibility to see which sentences or phrases are repeated in the chats?
Sent from my XT1042 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Glad that you like it, that's always nice to hear.
As for the sentences and phrases, while it would theoretically be possible to add such a feature, it would require a lot of computing power (at least a lot more than a modern smartphone has) to do this in a reasonable amount of time. As you might have noticed it already takes a little while to analyze larger chats and this would make that time even longer.

How many times did you tell yourself that you will quit social media apps?
I’ve done it multiple times, disabled my Facebook and instagram accounts when I felt motivated to do so, only to enabled them back again whenever my motivation faded and I felt bored.
Now, I don’t think that these social apps are completely evil, if you simply control the amount of time you spend surfing them.
That is why I designed and built an app that helps me limit the amount of time I spend on these apps and so far it has been effective.
The point of the app is simple, to help you reduce your screen time and limit addictive app usage.
I really think that negative reinforcement is one of the best ways to build habits, which is why I included it in this app.
Do you like watching video ads? I’m thinking you hate them.
With this app, you can launch an annoying video ad if you’re about to access one of your blocked apps.
If you find yourself regularly and mindlessly launching social apps, this little app will definitely help you overcome this addiction.
If you are interested in using the app, it’s available for android users.
Disclaimer:
Even though this is an app I built and this might look like self promotion I just want to say that this app has helped me and I think that it can help others as well.
If you can’t afford the application after the free trial, but you find it to be helpful, I will personally help you out with a free version.
