General Found A New Bug - Google Pixel 7 Pro

Hello people,
This is probably the most annoying bug I have seen in my Pixel.
I wanted to take a screenshot when playing a video in Full HD on YouTube. It started, I took the screenshot right when I needed by pressing the Power button and Volume Down button simultaneously. It was in full screen mode. And then disaster happened. The screen just went completely freeze. It was stuck at the screen where color palette choosing options etc. are given as soon as you take a scrnshot.
I touched the onscreen buttons nothing happened. I held Power button to activate Google Assistant. Although the assistant responded to me I did not see nothing. I set my display to turn off after 30 secs. Shortly before 30 secs it dims. The same behavior was happening except for the screen never went off.
I had to search [using other device] and come to learn that pressing the Power button about 30 secs will turn the phone off/restart. Finally, the phone came back to normalcy.
No melodrama over here. Such freezing may occur. It is just that this is my 2nd Pixel Phone [the first being the 3A] and ever since I've started using a Pixel I never ever had to do such operation.
Has it occurred to anyone?
My Pixel is exactly 5 months old. I enjoy dailying it.

screen wont come on but I still have audio

So I've had my Transformer for several months now and it's been great. Today was the first time I've had this issue where my screen wont come back on but I can still hear emails and other audio happen in the background. This happened earlier today and then suddenly the screen came back on. Well about an hour ago it happened again. I tried turning the screen on and nothing but i'm still getting audio.
I've tried holding down the power button for 5+ seconds to try to get it to power off but it's not turning off that i'm aware of. Is there some other type of combo i can do to try to get it to respond? I've also pressed the power button, vol up and vol down to make sure no button is accidentally held in.
Any help? I would like to get this working again and not have to RMA it. I'm also running Prime v1.82 ROM.
When the screen went dark were you moving the TF at all? Any recent jarring? Sounds like possibly a connection has come loose. Just a thought.

how can i check the connection? Is there a "how to" for accessing the internals of this unit? I would like to check that before sending the unit back if possible.

Try holding down the Power + VolDown key at the same time. This will reboot your device...
I don't know if this pertains to your particular issue but are you running a different launcher? If so it may want you to choose which launcher at startup. If the picker window pops up and doesn't show because of a bug in Honeycomb the screen will go dark and you won't see the picker window. When it does it again try turning the screen to portrait and then back again to landscape and see if the picker window will show. Of course you will need to have Auto Rotate screen checked on in the settings for you to do this also.
I had this happen one day on my phone, and it was the launcher issue....

[Q] how to track down the app that causes delays in turning the screen on

Hi, my S3 has a problem in that if the screen turns off and I immediately (well, fairly soon) press the home button or side power button to wake it up again.. there is a very long delay... so much that I only use the home button now, because I keep clicking the side button and often by the time the screen wakes up, it will have gone back to sleep because I had pressed the power button again.
So now I use home because home will not turn the screen off, only on.
Anyhow I'm sure it must be due to some app doing some processing when the screen goes off...
my question is, how do I track down the app? I have no idea which one it is
I have no problem to get the screen to turn on immediately, if some time has passed... let's say 30 seconds.. but often you need to turn the screen back on after it has timed out, so it's annoying to have to wait 10 seconds after immediately pressing the button.
btw. I use Cyanogenmod (android 4.3) but I don't think it's the cause because I don't remember this behaviour when I first installed it.
any ideas? thanks

I'm interested as well, I really wish samsung would improve the wake time on their phones. My HTC turned on without delay

Nexus Won't Boot Up

Help! My nexus 5 won't turn on after only having it for about a year now.. It's not a boot loop!
Here's what's happening:
-My phone boots up to the google sign and then the 4 moving color dots... It never gets past this screen.
-If the phone is plugged in, the phone will continue this looping process all night.
-If the phone is not plugged in, it will only occur twice when the power button is pushed.
-If I attempt to access the bootloader, I only see the screen for a split second until the google screen reappears and the loop begins all over again.
-I can get past the 4 dot screen by repeatedly hitting the power button on an interval of roughly once per second.
-If I do this, the next screen to appear is the "Android is upgrading.." "optimizing 0 out of 130 apps."
-This screen will not progress through all 130 apps however, unless i keep pressing the power button at the interval of roughly once per second.
I used to successfully make it through the start up process this way and be okay for the day, but now my phone will shut off once the home screen is reached. It seems to me that the power button was a bit too sensitive, but I took the phone apart and it is working fine. I did drop my, which cracked the screen, about a month ago. About a week ago is when the problems began to occur. The insides look good though, just the screen which is cracked. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
I'm trying to hold out for the Nexus 5 (2015)!
Dead power button it is.
In Indian LG service centers they replace out of warranty handset's power button for 330inr roughly 5usd.
I had the exact problem and thought is discarding the phone, but the repair fixed it.
Thanks, I'll look into this. Maybe try to do it myself real quick.
It's not easy to replace yourself, ad the button is soldered to the board. Best give it to a pro lab.
Bang it on a hard surface like a table. That is a temporary fix when my power button starts to act up. You can try hitting it on the palm of your hand, but that doesn't really jar it enough.

Black Screen of Death Recovery

I just got the Black Screen of Death for the first time after owning the phone for 2 weeks - pretty alarming when the phone is unresponsive, you can't reboot with the power button, and you can't pull the battery. (Coming from an S5, this is my first phone with a non-removable battery). Even though I knew my phone was fully charged, I tried plugging it in, and didn't even get the red LED. Not good.
After a little Googling, the solution I found that worked for me was: Press and hold Down Volume + Power at the same time for 7 seconds.
This brings you to a screen with some options, the first being to reboot like normal.
Volume toggles up and down between the options, but be sure not to choose option 2, which is a factory reset!
The Bixby button selects, so I just clicked on option 1, and I was back in business.
This apparently does a "simulated battery disconnect". Assuming it was some sort of firmware crash, this should bring you back to life. It did for me. There are other suggestions on the page if it doesn't work, but I was good to go after step 1. Hope it helps...

I had the same problem. Well mine showed the AID display but was completely unresponsive for like 30 minutes. That thing you did helped. Shortly after I did a full factory reset and been fine since

Not working
I followed rooting instructions on https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/development/root-t4128321
and now my phone wont even turn on at all, not even a sign of life after bootloader was flashed

Google Pixel dead after opening Play Store

After entering Play Store, my Pixel stopped and I pressed the power button to restart. Then the phone won't turn on when pressing or long pressing the power button for 30 minutes.
Tried long pressing the volume down and power button, no response and the screen is black, cannot even get to the bootloader.
My PC does not detect my phone as well.
I just updated to Android 10 for 2 months. Does anyone face the same problem like me? How could I find the support for this issue? I want to retrieve my photo and video.
