id say only people that donate to him can use the pre released beta/alpha kernels he makes....
but that never really seems to work and get alot of interest...

so its not all of the community paying for his device just helping him

Yes he is a great dev. I'll set up a fund somewhere, let me see what i can do. Might not get to this tonight but i will get to it. I have been talking to him all day today and he is a great guy. Just for the record I will probably be throwing in 50 bucks myself.

TW once release a built exclusive to the FB group and everyone respected it and there was no leaks!

Hes interested in getting a g2x, so I told him id attempt to orchestrate a collection of funds to buy him a g2x. First things first, what will a no contract g2x cost? What is the cheapest anyone has seen one for sale off contract? Secondly, if anyone has an upgrade they are willing to donate, THAT WOULD BE PHENOMENAL! I'm good for $100 to start things off. If you find one off contract for cheap, please post links! Moderators, please feel free to get involved.

That is why I hate xda bunch of free loading crack flashers that don't help the Dev. community just piss people off and whine for help when they get in trouble....... count me in for 20 bucks

Very good question... I can only assume so, since alot of his work is done with sense ui. I sent him a pm with the link to this thread, so as he reads through it, I'm sure he'll clarify on that.

have you been on the internet long? people are people. and you'll find people like that on any forum. i've seen people talking like that online since before the internet was mainstream. it's not only xda. there is no way to stop it. so just get used to it. but, i got your back on voicing your opinion as well. what xda needs is a dislike button. i've seen them on other sites. and after so many dislikes,your post gets hidden and members have to click "show" to see it.

People like you thinking it's ok to use these Roms for free without donating a dime is a FAIL!
These Devs work hard and long hrs. to make these roms for your phone to function and look better!
So a little donation wouldn't hurt for you to give!
Or better yet if you don't, don't bother commenting on it!
Don't look at it as paying for there phone, but rather an advance for work they are going to do for you!

Your idea is ingenious. I will take it up with a friend whose a mod here and see what he thinks. Not sure it will get too far but you never know.
That is a very good idea. Giving thumbs down to certain posters would warn other readers at this forum. It would also be useful against scammers who steal the Dev's work and pawn the mods as their own begging for donations. There was one on the Samsung Epic forum last year and on the Asus Transformer forum a few weeks ago.

this doesnt belong in development. and A) did you send the guy money? if yes you did it with no contract or obligation. if you have regrets there is nothing anyone can really do to help that. and B) dont pester the devs, the guy was highly requested. people were just throwing money at him, it's been a couple days since he actual recieved the phone in his hands and now you want to take that money back?

The last sentence of your original post was rude since he just purchased the device. We all appreciate your donation to help but do not expect a ROM from him in 1-2 days. It is a donation without commitment on time from him. Based on Mike's work on other ROM's from the Captivate, I expect we will see great things from him on the Infuse in the near future. Your approach could have been better and posted in the correct forum.

Maybe you know him personally, but I didn't know he just bought a phone. Last I heard in the general thread, which was like 2 weeks ago, he was too busy and didn't have time to buy a phone....

Yes, he announced in another thread that he got it on Monday. I do not have the link but he has it. I apologize about my remarks since you did not know however, you can be a little more polite in your initial post asking if he even has it by eliminating your last sentence in your original post and posting to General forum since this is not actual development.
Maybe try sending him a PM instead next time especially since you donated. Again, we all appreciate your donation to make this possible. Just have a little patience and I am sure we will have a great new ROM soon.

The Samsung Admire (SCH-720R)(Metro PCS) community is in desperate need of CWM, Custom Kernel and ROM for this great phone. We need any willing developer to pitch in on this. I know nothing about code, but I am willing to test new projects.
We were able to obtain root which allowed us to remove bloatware from the hpone allowing it to run smoother. But we all know that it is not enough to have this phone running to its maximum potential.

insurance from what company? if tmobile, it is the biggest fraud I have seen. They will give a new battery for free, but if the phone is damaged, they will charge you for a contract price phone without the contract, so instead of 600 bucks, 200 bucks. Also, they will send it in to be verified "damaged". If they can repair it, you will get your old phone back.

That's why you report it missing, the deductible is $130 on sgs4g and you can do that twice in a twelve month period, so Tmobile is not always bad

Luckyduck is the person who sent me the test phone to begin with. I had CWM booting for the phone the day after I got it. Just needed to be tweaked for the correct config which is what took so long.

I am a developer for the Galaxy 3, and have been on the XDA for over a year now and after a person (bscraze) who used to use my works on his Galaxy 3 called me over the the SL forums, I was informed that a developer (Fuss was on his way out). It's always sad to see a developer go, but I will try my best to fill his shoes.
I have asked him if he could send me the device and he is fine with this, all I need to do now is arrange some shipping costs to send the device to New Zealand.
As you can tell from the fact that I am a recognised developer (not bragging, just pointing out), I'm not here to steal somebodys money or phone. I already have a Galaxy S2 so it's not like I will be just taking the device and running off. That would be stupid and I'd probably lose my RD status. Instead all I wish is for anyone who can, please chip in a little bit of money for donations towards getting the device to New Zealand.
I already have debugging equipment from my Galaxy 3 (it uses the same USB switch chip and therefore the same external UART system), and even if that doesn't work, I am experienced with soldering and micro electronics so I can open the device up and pull the UART out of the device that way, all I need now is the device on my desk.
Feel free to put the donations in my Paypal now.
Again, I'm not here to nick any-ones money.

Okay I'm going to need someone who can speak German to find out how much it will cost. I tried using FedEx and it was going to cost over 120 euros and I was like 'F**K THAT'. I am not going to ask for 120 Euros for a phone to be shipped!

Okay shipping from NZ to Germany is about $15NZD. I imagine it will be about the same in the other direction. If it's stupidly expensive like DHL and FedEx think then there is something wrong with this world...

i think it is not expensive
$69 for fedex and $13 for DHL.fedex is expensive.go for DHl instead.but i think you should wait for dhiru's and everyone else's response

That sounds a bit more accurate. I can't see why it would be more than $30NZD.
I have spoken to Dhiru and I think he wants me to help out.
I think we'll set the pool for shipping costs at $30NZD to be on the safe side.

Well let's just leave it for a day or two and see how many people are willing to donate. I don't want to receive more donations than I need, so I will just say '10 people donate $3 each' or something. Means it's more fair that way.

I am always here guys to help this community Anyway I think dhiru is busy today so I havent got any pm from him. But as hillbeast say that he has contacted him & also got a green signal from dhiru then we have to seriously think about this Problem is not about donation. Only I want a confitmation from dhiru. It's a USB cable that comes out of the phone and connects to my Arduino, and has a bunch of jumpers on the end to define what mode it should be in.
