Hi,
I am using Chromium v. 111 as my browser on Pixel 7 Pro. One day, it just won't display any websites anymore. The error message is "Aw, Snap"
These are the steps I had taken:
close all tabs
clear cache
clear user data
reset network setting
uninstall AdGuard
uninstall Chromium
reinstall the latest Chromium
What steps am I missing?
Chrome, Firefox works fine on this Pixel 7 Pro (even with AdGuard activated), I gather there is nothing wrong with the network settings.
The same version of Chromium is installed on my other phone (Samsung S21) and it works fine. This means the Chromium is good to use.
Appreciate for any hints.
did you try earlier versions, from APK Mirror (or the like if it's not found there)? just to confirm if it's a latest version issue...
Thanks for the heads up.
Not sure why but the version I downloaded doesn't work on Pixel 7 Pro but the same version works fine on Samsung S21

So did an earlier version work now on the P7P?
If it's a "Aw Snap" message for all websites, I wonder if it's some kind of "resolving" network type issue or if some issue on the "hosts" file is interfering...You said you were employing AdGuard -- but you already troubleshooted it with other browsers and/or removing it. Maybe it doesn't like Android 13 firmware update (whichever you are) and/or the recently updated Play System update. Might be worth sending a bug report to the devs for Chromium giving them a heads up on the issue.
i have the same problem with chromium (build nr 1111) on pixel 7 pro, but not on all the websites. One that always crashes is github
Yeah I get this too with bromite or chromium. Nothing works, aw snap always. But brave works fine, it's annoying.

Hi,
I recently migrated to Nexus devices. I have a Nexus 5. Recently, while I am working with my phone, the play store suddenly opens to a random (usually Korean) app. I say Korean because the dev's website ends with'.kr' and the language looks like one of the East Asian languages (I am sorry but I cannot differentiate them very well).
I notice this usually happens when I am back to my home screen.
I suspected Ads and I have downloaded Ad Away and made sure I am running the most recent updates. I even installed Ad Network Detector by Lookout and even uninstalled some apps I suspected. But it still pops up.
This issue happens also on my Nexus 7 2013 (running rooted stock 4.4 and stock kernel - Dalvik runtime). Now there is an overlap of apps but they are not exactly the same.
Please note that I am running rooted stock 4.4 with custom kernel on my Nexus 5 (ART runtime). I have not updated play store manually. Everything is as is from Google. And the play store version is 4.4.22.
One last thing, yesterday, I noticed the same type of "ads" on my wife's galaxy s2 running Jelly Bam v10. There is very little overlap in terms of apps.
This is a very annoying form of ads. Anyone experienced this? And if so, any workarounds? I am trying to avoid a factory reset if possible.
I appreciate your help.

I'm glad that I found this as the same thing has been happening on my N5.
Cataclysm, Faux and 'next' browser. Although I think it still happened in chrome. It seems to happen when I'm using a browser, the play store launches by itself to some random app.
I'd hate to think this is Google doing this to sell more crap....
it sounds like you both have a spam app installed...try Addons Detector in play store, or uninstall anything that is not absolutely reputable, and read reviews about apps

It seems to have stopped since uninstalling the latest version of 'next' browser (beta 1.3).
I noticed that the issue would almost always arise when browsing, and since going back to my previous browser if choice (Boat) it hasn't happened since.
A real shame if it's indeed the browser, it had great promise and I was going to use it as my daily... But not if they are injecting crap like this into it.
Neither lookout adwatch nor airpush detectors picked it up, so it must be stealth.
I've emailed the devs asking if they have something like this in their browser, although I'm pretty convinced since it hasn't happened once since removing it.
Update:
It's not the browser, nor the one or two games I installed.
Tried several different ad and air push detector apps but can't find the culprit.
This is truly annoying, especially as I have very few apps installed beyond the stock Google ones.
Any help appreciated.
I've successfully installed Google Dialer from APK Mirror, it even updates using Play Store (now I'm on version 14.0.176716531) I gave it all permissions, set up as default call app and it works almost flawlessly. Almost, because there is few second ringtone delay on incoming call, maybe 3-4 second. Not really deal breaker for me but annoying thing.
Anyone faced with such problem?
Does your in-call time counter works normally? Mine displays millions of minutes...
Thanks! & Some Help...
Hi Rufik,
That was very helpful. I got -- Google Phone 7.0.140861421-nonnexus (noarch) (nodpi) (Android 6.0+) -- from APKMirror. And it works great on my Huawei Mate 9 (L29) running OEM Android 7.0 from the factory.
One problem with Google Phone 7.0.140861421 is notification bubbles... sometimes they work and sometimes not. Any suggestions to get them to work?
Also, how were you able to get Google Phone 7.0.140861421 to upgrade to 14.0.176716531. I can not get past 7.0.140861421. I have tried newer Google Dialers/Phones and they will not install on my Mate 9. Any suggestions? What versions should I look for? Also, how were you able to get the Play Store OTA upgrade to the Google Phone? I have tried, but no success.
Best Regards,
Jim
Sorry for link, it points to old version 7.
Navigate to newest version 14 nodpi arm64 https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/googl...le-phone-14-0-176716531-android-apk-download/ and install it.
Please let me know if it works fine, especially ringtone possible delay.
@N100GL You can also install v14 version but previous build, like https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-phone/google-phone-14-0-175904292-release/ and check if you can update from Play Store (do a restart after installation!).
Thanks - But Does Not Work
Thank youd for your quick reply and your help!
No don't be sorry -> Google Phone 7.0.140861421-nonnexus (noarch) (nodpi) (Android 6.0+) -> works just fine. The only issue is that it is old and the bubble alerts.
The other two link you listed above, do not install on my phone (Mate 9 L29 Android 7.0 factory OS). They get all the to the last step of installation and then it says "This app is not compatible with your phone." They start the installation process, and can see the Google Phone 7.0.140861421 already installed, they agree to do an update, but choke in the end.
Now the Google phone apps that I have been able to run on my phone are the "-nonnexus (noarch) (nodpi)" APK files. I have not been able to get any of the (arm64) or (arm) and (nodpi) to run on my phone. There seems to be something special with the "-nonnexus (noarch)" files, but I don't what it is.
Am I missing something? Should I try something else? Thanks in advance.
I remember that I flashed (TWRP) Google Dialer Support Framework from here according to this post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-google-dialer-t3557412 (Workaround section). Give it a try and report please.
Thanks Rufik!
Actually, I found the same article last night and downloaded + installed the Google Phone APK 11.0.164102751 -- and it work great.
No problems what so ever... other than the lack of missed-call and voicemail notification bubbles. I have heard that this might be a Nougat problem, which is fixed in Oreo. I am using Nova Launcher and Tesla Unread, which is great for notification bubbles on every other application, except for Google Phone - which does not seem to display the bubbles. Google Phone used display (with and without Nova Launcher + Tesla Unread) the notification bubbles just fine, but not on version 7.xxxx or 11.xxxxx. Any thoughts or suggestions?
The only version I tried is v14. No problem with call log or missed calls. No problem with contacts also.
I suggest you to try v13 or v14 and give it all possible permissions. Older versions could have problems you described.
I don't care about bubbles edition, sorry.
Some idea - the ability to install Google Dialer form play store depends on Google Dialer Support Framework. Try to flash it (twrp), restart and check play store.

Yes, the same here. But I don't care about it. The only problem is ringtone delay for me, it forces me to drop Google Dialer and use stock one (that I don't like).
OK, it looks like after update to Oreo (8.0.0.361) delay is gone, Google Dialer v15 (patched, from xda) works fine for me
Edit: I've managed to flash Google Dialer Support Framework and then install Dialer from Play Store successfully. Framework is from Open GApps Android 8.0 ARM64 (pico edition), just repacked to my twrp flashable zip. Works only with Oreo (tested on my C432 8.0.0.361).
When we get Magisk working on Oreo then I'll make magisk module
When I installed the Facebook app (and the Messenger and the Fb Pages app too) from Google Play on a freshly installed Lineage 15.1 (updated to the latest version as of today, 30 Dec 2018) on my OnePlus One, I am getting this strange error:

Tried to uninstall/install. Same thing.
I'm attaching screenshots. I notice that the Facebook app falls back to an old UI if that's any clue.
Any ideas how I can resolve this?
Idem
Same issue here, on the same LineageOS version.
I solved by downloading the apps on apkmirror.

Yes, that works (I downloaded them from apkpure)! Thanks a lot!
Same here.
Solved issue only with Facebook by downloading app direct from fb website.
Play store offers me only extra old versions of fb and messenger app.
I'll install the apk directly.
Thx for the tips!!
Thanks for the solution.
I reported the issue to FB developers. Hope they'll fix it soon.
one plus one lineage 15.1 applications trouble
i am a new member not sure where to go.
my issue started with the same Facebook error libraries: libheartbleed.so: unauthorized access to libssl.so
as tried by everyone i ended up rectifying it.
strange thing i am experiencing with playstore only on this phone (as i use the same google account on other phone like Mi and LG no issues)
Unable to find few apps on my play store running on one plus one
For eg . my airtel, linked in
Both the apps does not come in the search when tried on play store.

Location :India

I had the same problem. Just downloaded the latest LOS 16 nightly. It solved everything for me.

OnePlus 7 pro rooted.
When I try to open Chrome or Chrome Beta I just get a box saying info/close/feedback.
I force stopped didn't help.
I cleared cache didn't help.
I cleared storage didn't help.
I Uninstalled updates. That helped, but I lost updated features I wanted.
Even still, after a couple days, it auto updated and I'm in the same pickle.
Why is this happening?
How do I fix it?
Chrome is a system app, so I can't Uninstall. Should I use a root app to Uninstall it anyway? Then DL again?
Nobody?
I'm all alone with this problem?
I DL'd Chrome Canary and it fixed all my problems except black mode, which works fine for me.
I'd still like to know what is wrong to make Regular Chrome and Chrome Beta not work right though. Especially because Canary isn't known to be very stable. I'm probably gonna have to revert at some point or chose a totally different browser. (I have zopera, but still prefer Chrome)
So the latest PlayStore update has broken the app on Android 12.
On my Pixel 6 Pro it worked fine on previous version but now it freezes on XDA logo and app never loads. Tried clearing cache/data. but no difference.

Same here same phone xda app version 2.15.40 (default settings)
Rooted second November ota
Clearing data lets me relogin but on second launch of app (clear from recents) crashes
For me XDA app stopped working as well 2 days ago, cleared the cache and data as well but no difference.
It lets me login and then when it tries to load it is just force closing.
I saw that I had an update of my Webbrowser DuckDuckGo which I am using so might be that the DuckDuckGo updates forced this issue with the XDA app for me now.
XDA app: 2.15.40
DuckDuckGo: 5.102.2
OOS 11.0.11.11 OxygenOS (Android 11)
Phone: Oneplus 8t
EDIT: OK it works again for me now with the 2.15.38 Version. but the 2.15.40 Version is not working anymore for me.
Hi.
I have the same problem after updating to a12 on my galaxy s21u.
In my case the problem started by changing the theme and color palette.
The weird thing is that in the beta versions of a12 it worked perfectly.
Right now the only solution I found was to install version 2.15.38.
I hope it is resolved soon.

Will try if that solves the issue.

Android 11.
One ui 3.1.
Xda app version 2.15.40 gplay.
So it looks like it's panning out to some change in the back end that after a few days of the new version it stopped working for many. It doesn't seem tied to any one manufacturer or os level.
I can say that in the days previous to this not opening crash certain ui elements were changed (it started to show a menu bar super imposing over part of a thread if i had thread preview turned off, then a day or so later the crashes began. I.'m going to reload. 40 and see if i can matlog it.

Hi.
Same here.
How can I get the error log only from the xda application?
I don't have root.
Salu2
No idea if this is helpful but it captures the short time of enabling matlog> launching home >launching xda. 40> being kicked back to home (xda crashes) > recent app to matlog > stop matlog
Edit neither xda app nor web will let me post the log, gonna try the computer
edit2 computer same thing can attach file but it doesn't show

Thanks.
I already got the application event log.
I did it with the logcat extreme application giving it permissions by adb.
It's insane to see the error related information at 2.15MB in plain text.
I leave it to the devs of the app solving the problem.
As long as version 38 continues to work properly.
