Hi guys,
Does anybody know of a great anti-fingerprint screen protector for my precious Omnia 7? If SGP had one, I would buy that one immediately (have one for my iPad and iPod Touch), but they don't have it (yet).
Any alternatives? Preciate the input!
Seriously guys, nobody? I think I'm certainly not the only one looking for this?
I have bought one from expansis Martin Fields Screen Protector
at h**p://w w w.expansys.it/martin-fields-screen-protector-samsung-omnia-7-1-pack-205497/
It's a Japan product, for me very good.
It's can cover also rear camera but photos are less good (little fade).
The other good brand is disagu at h**p://w w w.disagu.co.uk but doesn't have a specific product for samsung omnia 7.
Thanks nfalco79, for your input! I'll check those out.

Now is available at disagu the screen protector for Omnia 7 and I have ordered one as backup the current (martin). Unfortunately the product has wrong sizes, is 2mm height and 1 mm width too small.
Keep away.
Have a look:

You put the screen protector reverse side.....in the last picture is visible the cut for sensor that is in wrong place, it must be at the right side of speaker....
And also you have installed the film in very bad way....i have the same and is perfect....

You don't understand, I have not apply film. I have only place disagu film over the current (as describe in my previous post) to see real gaps. I align film to the bottom right.
Doesn't matter was on reverse side, I simply use the side that stay closer to the screen without apply it to take photos.
If I center it on the hole for the start button or microphone, it would leaves all around a > 0.5 mm about from border and was not plain the real gap.
I have wrote a week ago to disagu, and they send me new one yesterday.
I attent the new one to see if was corrected the master template.

Disagu replace screen protector arrived yesterday. Now has right dimensions but holes for microphone and start button are not covered well, very too large.

Martin Field for Omnia 7 in my opinion is the best.
I mean why do these companies make these covers that never fit?
Its just damn annoying
Check out Protectionfilms24.com (Vikuiti), the fit is perfect, no bubbles and it went on easy, I have a standard one but I am pretty sure they do an anti fingerprint one as well. Its a little pricey but worth it imo.

* Easy to fit and does the job
what do you think abount Brando UltraClear Screen Protector?
Did anybody try the Invisible Shield from Zagg? Very curious about that one...
i owned Invisible Shield and Skinomi screen protectors.
Invisible Shield was not totally transparent and fit, and it was sticky.(i refunded)
Skinomi get marks easily.(I want to refund as well, but the return policy are haze.)
My experience, i love Zagg more than Skinomi.
Hello guys,
I was digging through eBay for some nice flip view cover and found this one.
I really liked the blue/yellow color so for $16.99 I decided to order one (took only 12 days to Brazil! :laugh. Another thing I liked was the fact it doesn't replace the original back cover, it has its own case to hold the device.
The back case is translucent and has a different texture in the area that makes contact with the surface you put it on, so it wont make scratches on the case. That was well thought, imho.
The front flip is made of very good material, some rubber/plastic soft thing I don't know the name. The back of it is like suede, so it won't scratch the screen.
All parts are very well finished.
I am fully satisfied with it. :victory:
Well, check out the pictures of it in my Dropbox:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ypqj4g3chxalevq/Cz5eEUhXa8
Here's a hotsite: http://www.momax.net/eng/product_detail.php?Id=393
Altough Momax is a Honk Kong company, I can assure you they make quality products.
They do have an online store, buy I couldn't find the case there, so here's the eBay link where I bought it:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/140987615518
Thanks for your review. Have a couple of questions for you.
Does the front flip stay fully closed? Can you manipulate the volume keys?
Yes it does and the sight works well.
If you look the 5th picture, you can see the volume up and down indicators. They work normally, as in the original S-View cover.
12 days to Brazil
good review!
Yeah I was shocked with the delivery time. It normally takes around 45 days...

How well does the front cover stay closed? Also, does the view window have plastic protector and is it getting scratched?

The magnet works as well as the original S-View cover, and the front door stays closed normally.
Either this or the original one will not stick closed to the phone, seem that the magnet is only for the S-View function, and not to keep it shut,
But I think I got your question: the cover is very plain, it is not bent to the point it would float in some parts of the gadget.
Yes, the window has a kind of glass (some really hard plastic) to protect the phone's screen.
I've been using it for a while already and it does not have any scratch, but I always carry it alone in a pocket...
Howdy, this is my first review. I thought I would have enjoyed a thread like this so I would create one. I am comparing the dot view ice to the dot view for the m8 because that is what I had and most likely what other have had. A side note, I am loving this phone! (And pics were taken with my old HTC EVO 4G LTE)
PICS:
http://imgur.com/a/s1Mli#0
The black m9 version is lighter than the m8 black version
The m9 'dot holes' are fractionally bigger than the m8's. To me, this makes the dots seem more vivid and brighter
The selfie-cam is no longer visible on the m9 version and is essentially protected
The m9 version covers the entire edge of the phone.
The m9 version is very tight on the phone. I really don't think dirt and things will get in between the phone and the case with the way the edge grips onto the phone. However because of this, the phone is very difficult to get ouf of the case. I feel that I might damage the case or the phone when removing it.
Since the case covers the entire phone (around the edges), the volume and power buttons are now covered. I feel they are a bit difficult to determine if I am pushing them- there is no clicky feel or noise made when pushing them.
Since the back is clear plastic, I feel that the outside will eventually be scratched to heck. I personally lay my phone with the screen up though usually.
The flappy cover still has the same rigidness and (I feel) quality as before.
The m8 doesn't function in the m9 case and the mm9 doesn't function in the m8 case. They DO fit in each other's cases, but the magnet that turns on the functionality is offset from the sensors rendering them incompatible.
If anyone feels that I missed anything, feel free to add to the list.

I can confirm that the M9 does not work in the M8 case. I have had a test M9 since January and an M8 with Dotview. As you state, the magnets are in different locations, as are the sensors. HTC told me early on that the M8 case wouldn't work.
Got the Dot View ICE edition for my M9, I'm really loving it. everybody at work was very impressed with it's functionality.
The thing that I'm uneasy about is the HTC Universal Car Mount for the M9. I mean using the car mount is really seamless. My problem is having to remove the phone from the case if I want to put it in the mount because I'm afraid the front cover will break or bend to the point where its no longer usable, at which point I will have a regular see trough case with no dot view at all...
Any one else having this issue?
Looks like the phone won't be popping out of the case as much or at all this time around.
I got one of these with a Tmobile gift card I had. I love the dot view and how it functions but the flip case isn't for me. It's awkward to use the phone with the flap open because it wants to spring back to the phone, and it's just a weird grip to use while using the device.
I really dig the look, size, and feature though!
Hi!
Stupid question maybe.. I've had a Dot View Ice since monday. I haven't paid much attention to the cover when it's closed, but today I realized that when I turn my phone sideways or upside down, the cover opens. Shouldn't that be prevented by the magnet inside?
Can anyone tell me if they experience this too or is my Dot View just ruined after four days?

I don't think it is ruined, I don't think the magnet is strong enough to out weigh the rubber casing and if you keep the case on while using your phone (more than 20 mins with cover bent to the back) it eventually wears down to the point where it will flip open turned sideways or upside down. I noticed this recently and take the phone out of the case when I am at home to preserve the elasticity of the case. Regardless it isn't like it was when I first purchased it, but I still use it to protect my phone when I am out and about.

I agree, for what we paid for it , it shouldn't have lost its "spunk" with in the first week of use. Its still a nice case and provides protection which matters most in the end.

The screen protector is the issue. You don't need it anyway now.
I don't really know how it should be but the front flip cover sitting very los after few days of use. Coming from M7, no idea about M8 dot view only my girlfriend told me the phone is not save in
I have the Ice one and it doesn't close properly on mine either. No screen protector on either. Shoddy really.

Does the case have a built in screen protector because my last HTC that I had was the flip case and it wouldn't close all of the way and I thought I was OK, but the screen still got scratched.
I just got the premium case (non-ice). I believe the flap is just as rigid and will tear like the ice edition did. Meanwhile my m8 dot view never tore over two years. I hope this one lasts a while.

I had mine for 2wks and it was already tearing off. Exchanged it for a cheap-o Body Glove case with a stand. I really wish the dot-view was more durable, as I really like the idea!
i love this case but in 2 weeks , the front was separated from the back
and i didnt used it that much, nothing wrong of my part
thinking in glue it together again, any ideas?

i was just curious if there are other features for this style of case. so far only thing is unlocking the phone when you open it.
I bought two Korean made cases for my husband and I off of Ebay. Both of them make the second screen turn black when the cover is closed. I thought the second screen would stay on with it shut, and this is a bit disappointing. When it is shut, it covers the light sensor. Anybody else having the same problem?
Did you notice that the Note 20 Ultra has a built in screen protector out of the box?
I won't have mine in hand for a bit over 24 hours from time of this post...
However, I did notice Zach (JerryRigEverything) posed a durability "test" as usual and it appears to have the same type of protection as earlier models starting with the S10 series last year.

None of the demo models I saw had one, and the review units on YouTube didn't appear to have one either.
But a member here received his early in the United Arab Emirates, and he said it had a factory installed screen protector just like the S20 and the Note 10. On Jerry Rig Everything, Zach showed that it came with a factory installed screen protector as well.
I ordered some screen protectors just in case. You will need them. Gorilla Glass Victus scratches just as easy as previous versions.

It does, but it's extremely thin & I doubt it will be very effective long-term.
Well I got mine today and I cannot see or feel on edge of device if there is one installed. There is no cutout around front facing camera. I have been searching since mine arrived several hours ago and I am finding nothing that says for sure that one is installed.

that makes my decision easy, I left the factory one on my note 10 plus and the fingerprint scanner worked on the first try maybe 70% of the time.
finally took it off as it wore and boom worked on the first try almost always..huge difference.
so i hadn't decided when my 20 ultra came (caved and ordered the 512gb even though black sucks) if Id leave it or ditch it immediately.
I see yes and I see no. Friend of mine called Verizon they said no due to the new Gorilla Glass

I find the pre-installed Screen Protectors decent for what they are. I had one on my Wife's S9, S10 and S20 and my Note 9 and Note 10. They seem to last about a year before they start to get bubbles. But short of that no complaints.
Looking the reviews over and it seems the rabid gerbils at Samsung seem to think this phone should sit screen down.
If you put it back down, there's it is pivoting on the cam hump like some misbalanced freak of nature.
Case and screen protector or it will get all beat to hell...
Doubtful I'll upgrade from the Note 10+ in spite of the 20's really cool specs and features.
I expect better, worse all the added off balanced bulk and NO 3.5mm jack. Samsung doesn't listen...
Got mine today and just has the protective film with holes cut out of it for camera and fingerprint sensor. I'm tempted to run it without one lol

Cool.... it looks like great fun
The fact the factory screen protector has a cut out for the fingerprint sensor though is troublesome.
Sand is the biggest screen scratch culprit.
I'd use a wet apply urethane protect like IQ Shield once the factory one wears out which could be many months from now.
Definitely would get a good case that has slightly raised on the ends to protect the screen on flat surfaces.
I use the Bolt on my 10+ and it works very well. However the factory screen protect saved it from a nasty faceplant the 2nd day I had the phone.
Many who run phones like these naked end up replacing cracked screens as there's very little bevel to protect them from corner impacts... my 10+'s favorite landing spot are its case corners or to faceplant.
No reviews yet, the Bolt for the 10+ is excellent. Not sure about the one for the 20 ultra:
https://www.zizowireless.com/produc...axy-note-20-ultra-case?variant=32315584282672
This wet apply soft screen protector works very well although it requires some time to properly install. Edges stay down and if a edge lifts can be sealed back down with touch and a tad of moisture. Have 3 months on my 10 and it still looks great with no scratches.
Compatible with the Bolt.
https://www.iqshield.com/iq38298-samsung-galaxy-note-20-ultra-phone-screen-protector.html
Installed my Ringke Easy Dual screen protector today, since the US models don't come with one pre-installed.
Love this Ringke screen protector. It's invisible and has no effect on the fingerprint reader at all. Highly recommend it.

Got mine yesterday. And it indeed has a cut off at the camera, so it must be there.
Also my fingerprint scanner seems to be like your 70%. (Identical with my note 10, haha we are the same early adapters.)
So I will pull it off.
Huib
p.s. just pulled it off. It is very thin. I never had scratches on my Note 10, so no worries.
And my fingerprint works 100% now!

Fully agree. Did the same. There is a difference in fingerprints quality however. The older a person gets the worse they get. I tested it with my children.
So if you ar young and beautiful maybe you can leave the screen protector.

Isn't the one installed just a shipping protective film?
Phones used to be packed in a plastic or fabric type cover before putting in the box. These days they aren't and I think the film is just to protect the screen during transit. I believe that because it's just too flimsy to be a proper screen protector.
.
I had left the film over the screen on as it was unnoticeable but removed it after reading this thread.
The finger print sensor is MUCH better now! ?
