First off, props to all developers working on the device. Fantastic developments in this subforum!
Secondly, would it be possible to spoof the device info on any rom to mimick the stock factory image? Reason I ask is I have an app, a type of banking app used locally, that does not seem to be working on this rom or any other.
It does work on stock rom. While currently i dont have root, i have tried magisk (with magisk app hidden) and magiskhide props, universal safetynet fix wth zygisk and lsposed etc.. nothing seems to work. I dont think it detects root as currently i am not even rooted on evolution rom. However, I think it detects a custom rom. Therefore, if it is possible to spoof either the rom or the app to show it that the phone is running the stock rom it might work.
If anyone knows a way to do this or some other way to try to access the app while being on a custom rom, please let me know.
Thanks.
Just a thought, detecting a custom ROM would mean the app would recognize ALL official ROMs? Kinda hard, so probably something else... When rooted, did you try whitelist instead of hide?
Thanks for the response.
I didn't whitelist at the time, I just added the app to the "denylist" of zygisk. That said, as mentioned above, I am not rooted and did a fresh install of Evolution ROM. App doesn't work.
I have previously done a clean install of the stock ROM and the app works perfectly there.
Hmm so it's not detecting the unlocked bootloader... That's really weird. Sorry I can't help
if you aren't rooted, magisk isn't going to work. the magisk forum is likely a better place to look for an answer
So I figured out why my banking app wasn't letting me use my fingerprint. You apparently have to turn off developer options to get the app to work properly.
Ah was thinking about that yesterday! Actually there's a Magisk module that could help, IAmNotADev I think it's called, it hides dev status from selected apps.

Also after I registered my fingerprint with the app. I turned developer options back on and it was fine.
Haha so it only checks only until activated? Stupid...

Hello there
I am running a custom ROM on my Galaxy S8 and it is rooted using Magisk rather than SuperSU. SnapChat works fine with Magisk as it does not detect the root, however I've tried everything with the Barclays Mobile App but I just get stuck on the first screen and nothing happens afterwards.
At first it used to ask me to grant it root permissions and of course I did, but it has never actually worked.
I am not completely sure, but I have a feeling it has to do with the fact that my device is rooted.
Can someone please shed some light on this? I really need to get this application working as it is important for me. Do I have to go back to completely stock in order to use this application?
Thanks!
yes, it doesn't work on rooted devices. One of the ways that it tries to detect root is by trying to get root, as it happened in you case. By granting it root access, you marked your phone as rooted, and disabled the app. In case you were wondering, it has many other ways to detect root. It used to work with magisk hide, but I tried just today, and it seems that they can detect it too, as I can't use it anymore. By the way, your phone is flagged as rooted, and you will either have to do a factory reset to get it working, or call Barclays, but I think that there is no way to get it working. If you find out how to get it to work, please share it.

Barclays app worked for when I was using magisk v14. Since update magisk v.15 barclays app stop working. If you can try to install magisk v.14
P.s. I was using magisk v14 and somehow magisk updated itself to v.15
Does anyone know why the app is crashing? I do have magisk but safety net is passing.
Did you hide SU/Magisk for that app via Magisk Manager?

For me, it does... and solved problems especially with banking apps where developers don't understand that a rooted phone usually implies an experienced user taking care of his device and keeping it up to date... in opposite to "locked" devices with outdated firmware and open for any sort of side attacks.

Keep getting error code 99z on my sky q app when i try to access viewing.
Magisk hide is on, but making no difference.
What version of magisk you running?
You on 5.1.8 update from today?

I am on 5.1.8, but it worked also on 5.1.7 before. Question is what Sky verifies... If Sky (like others) checks Widivine, then the unlocked bootloader downgrades from L1 to L3.
Check with the DRM Info app from the Play store.
My Chase app started that

That worked. Thanks! I forgot I can hide apps
For what it's worth, hiding Magisk from my PNC app allows the app to run just fine UNTIL I attempt to deposit a check. At this point, it crashes every time. I'm currently on PNC app version 4.4.1. I didn't have this issue until about June of 2018. However, I'm not certain as to which version last worked as desired. My guess is that there's not easy solution for this.
My current work around is to to keep a copy of both the stock and patched boot.img file on my device. If ever I need to deposit a check, I can reboot to TWRP... flash the stock boot.img... reboot... deposit the check... reboot to TWRP... flash the patched boot.img... and reboot.
If someone knows of an easier approach, please share.

hi i have a magisk and twrp rooted oneplus 6 with radioactive kernel, and can't use google pay, i get an error message please check your settings after it's tried to verify with the bank, but the bank say everything is fine, and it was working before i unlocked bootloaders and installed custon software, any ideas out there, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Try to hide google pay app with "magisk hide" in magisk app
Edit:
Google Pay is working with my OP6 [email protected] and TWRP
Google pay is working fine for me too also rooted with magisk
Some people have begun to have issues with Magisk and safetynet tripping over the past few days, we're trying to figure it out in the Magisk forums. This appears to have coincided with the Android Pie release and it's possible modifications have been made to safetynet. John Wu is looking into it. There are a few additional modules you can try along with Magisk Hide. Some work for some people. I've had no luck yet personally.

Busybox always makes me fail safety net, even systemless. Make sure you haven't installed a magisk module with it or a custom rom with it. I think recent Google versions check for it.

Also you know you have to wipe/reset Google Play before you check again correct?
once you fail safety net it will always fail no matter what until you reset Google Play

Have the problem as well..
I have the same problem. Running OP6, Android P Developer Preview 4, TWRP recovery and magisk (v16.7).
Magisk hide is enabled for GPay as well as many other banking apps. I know for sure its something to do with GPay, since the other apps that initially complained and triggered safetynet, started running as soon as I enabled Magisk hide for those apps.

I finally found the route cause of gpay not working, it was my WiFi, I found the answer purely by accident when I was in a shop and had forgotten my wallet, so I did a last ditch attempt to set up gpay again with my mobile data and it worked first time, when I got home i deleted the app and reinstalled while trying to set up via WiFi again and I got the same error message, switched to mobile data and it set up perfectly.
I have no idea why my WiFi was stopping gpay from getting set up, but that was the cause, 100% certain.

Hi,
It was working before for me until 15th March, and now it completely stopped working. I've tried to re-add my card, but then it complains about the device is rooted or altered. I could keep device certification, and safetynet check passes. Tried these methods, nothing.
Does anyone has any suggestions?
Thanks

Update Magisk to v19 and clear data of the app, hide it in Magisk Hide and try to re-add it
I have a fix I u didn't have one, First of all hide all Google apps from Magisk hide.
Then goto setting, apps, permission and disable telephone permission of google play services. That's it.
Hi guys. Im really hoping someone can help me here. This is my first post here so dont hate.
So I've been using this op6 since a year now.
My main issue- Unrooted but cant use some apps and games. They all crash because im supposedly rooted.
Tried installing the mario kart tour today. Had a similar issue with pokemon go so had to stop playing. Some banking apps refuse to work (axis bank). And most importantly Fortnite. This was the first app i tried installing on my phone after buying it. Crashed right after i jumped from the bus.
Confirmed facts about my phone to make this a faster process:
Unrooted (checked on root checker)
Developer options switched off
Oem locked
Passed safety net check from the app on playstore
Bought from the official oneplus store. Brand new out of the box.
Receiving latest OTA updates.
No supersu installed
Latest security patch updated via ota
Any information regarding this would be highly appreciated. I have nowhere else i would be able to explain this scenario.
Thanks
Try to install Magisk (if rooted) and select app or game in "Magisk hide" to say your smartphone is not rooted
If not rooted look if you're installed last update of Android système webview in Google play store.
I'm not rooted. Infact my bootloader is still locked. Magisk wont work right?
Im wondering what exactly could be triggering the false positive on these games.
Android system webview is disabled
Maybe a Magisk folder is still on your device. Search for "Magisk" folder in file manager and if you find anything, delete it.
Nah buddy! No magisk was ever installed on the device. A deep search for such a folder yielded no results.
Someone help please!
Try turning off developer options. I've seen some apps which refuse to work with them on (Marrow). Just an idea

Ok you need to figure out if you have an app that is causing this installed. I recommend you do a factory reset, do not install any backups or apps when you go through initial setup, and then install and try any of your "problem apps" one at a time to see if they work.

Hi!
I have an issue and was wondering if anyone have a solution. Suddenly Google wallet stopped working, saying that my phone is not up to security standards. It worked fine until this Sunday.
I'm using beyondrom, magisk app (zygisk and hidden) with Universal safteynet fix v.2,4 and Shamiko v.0,6. I also have all Google services etc. in deny list.
Anyone have had the same issue and/or something to try to fix?

Strong integrity will always be red on an unlocked bootloader. Basic and Device integrity are the only requirements, Wallet does not use Strong. If you don't already, enable DenyList on Wallet and GPay - make sure you expand and enable on all subprocesses. Then, clear Wallet data and reopen it.
I had this issue a few days ago and fixed it with this method.

If you're running the latest kdragon version of safteynet fix, try deleting the module and install the latest version of the safteynet fix by displax. I myself had problems sometime ago and this helped. Then clear everything again restart and it'll probably work.

I just realised, with the latest beyondrom magisk got changed to magisk alpha, so you kinda have to go and re-hide the app and so on. Have you done that?

Nope, sorry I thought you did. But that's probably the reason for why the wallet isn't working. In that case first update and go through all the steps, should work then. It's one of the reasons magisk got replaced by magisk alpha in the newest beyond rom version.

If you're on a custom ROM you may need to use MHPC to spoof a valid device profile.
I had the same problem here, I managed to solve it by installing Magisk delta and Universal SafetyNet modded.
