Pixel 7 Pro doesn't have a notch. lol

If you want the phone to use the full display and ignore the hole punch camera, then yes there is a way. I use the magisk module "None Display Cutout". After installing, you need to change the Display Cutout setting in Developer Options to "No Display Cutout".

or use AOSP Mods, there is an option to ignore the statusbar, and with xposed pro app you can stretch your apps to fullscreen

I know it breaks Game Dashboard. Completely removes it from the settings after a few hours post flash.

Alternate apps for gravitybox and network meter on Android P

I was hooked on to the battery indicator from Gravity box (percentage within the circle) and network meter on the top (without having to expand the status bar) using network meter xposed modules.
Now that was all using Xposed, since we don't have Xposed for Android P yet and not expected anytime soon.. Any alternate suggestions for the 2 shared use case scenarios?
Thanks!
Oh yes, and 2 more features - seeing remaining memory on recent apps view and adding am / pm to the clock (this is the least important off them all). Thanks!

Sounds great, thanks. Will try it out but if I find something for stock, even better
This all mess is due to notch. It takes up space pushing other icons under notch. I tried to do it but looks insane.

I had a pretty dope setup on Android 8.1 - Magisk + Xposed got it tweaked out to exactly how I like it.
Just saw, Havoc is an AOSP based Rom. That unfortunately is a no go for me. I love OOS.
Still open to suggestions!
it's coincidental that I changed my rom back to oxygen OS few minutes after using AOSP.
Few mins = almost non-coincidental
Just wanted to bump the thread and see, if anyone knows of options!
edXposed is the replacement of Xposed in Andoid pie. edXposed supports all xposed modules.

Question How to swap navbar buttons via Magisk or any other way

Longtime xda user but have been out of the modding scene for many many years now, so forgive me if my question is stupid. Just got the P7P and put magisk etc on it. I don't like gesture navigation, and I am surprised that google doesn't allow nav bar button customization, which is something that has existed on various android implementations for as long as android has been around. Is there a magisk module that can do this on the latest 12/22 firmware? All google search results return with very old posts, and at this time I don't know how to recover from a bootloop if I do take a chance on flashing something.
Something that I had personally suggest is the Navigation Bar (9.0 +) module for Magisk, you can find it on Github.
Here's a link: Navigation Bar (9.0+)
There are many more methods but you can mention me anytime if this doesn't works.
Sent by me from A50s with TWRP and S12 Revolt Corvus OS
Check out AOSP mod. It allows configuration for the nav buttons. It is a good replacement for Gravitybox.
After years of 3 button nav, I switched to gestures. It took a few days to get used to it. Now it is built into my flabby muscle memory.

Using Gestures, love it. Was a hardcore Navbar user.
Don't seem to have any issue with gestures and side panels.
Any specific app you are referring to?
I am using viber, skytube, k-9 mail, nextcloud, Mixplorer. Just to mention a few where I constantly use side panels and weird stuff happens when trying to open it due to the functional overlap

Thought this module would allow me to customize the navigation bar. Like change the navigation bar icons to look like Samsung or Xperia or Nexus. Was i wrong ? Is there a more suitable module for this ?

Question Launcher landscape mode

Hi all! Just coming over from my trusty OP7Pro this week after 3 1/2 years. The phone seems great even though I don't like the punch hole from camera but I've noticed on Pixel and Nova launchers in landscape mode the widgets and icons won't use all the screen. There's a huge gap before the dock on the right and the punch hole on the left sides that's not useable. Seems such a waste and I was wondering if there was a fix or workaround? Apologies for the work in progress kwgt widgets in the screenshot.
Portrait mode isn't great. For one, it makes the text on my widgets get very tine and doesn't scale the wallpaper

Question colors on screen

why does every color on my screen get lighter when there is more light like outside it looks super ugly how do i disable this stupid feature
When device's ambient light sensor is hit by direct sunlight, display reaches it's peak brightness for better view.
It's a feature that can be disabled only with root. (Not sure)

The only thing you can do is to disable the functionality of the sensor, but you won't be able to use adaptive brightness.

Well it is hardly a pill, the thin horizontal line at the bottom of the home screens. Indicator when scrolling through home screens.
There is also a Substratum theme (FSIM) version of the Fullscreen/Immersive Gesture Tweaks Magisk module mentioned above (same developer) which I use to get rid of it.

Google want to have a word with themselves, you shouldn't need a mod, you should just be able to turn it off.

That's the ying and Yang of Google. BY default they offer little in customisation but then they also make it easy to root your phone and add custom mods. Samsung are the opposite, they offer loads of customisation but it's a pia to root

Just an FYI, but it seems that if you use the systemless hosts module, then you cannot use that Fullscreen module by DanGLES3. This is because it prevents your apps that require root access from seeing that they have root access. Basically, it messes up your superuser permissions and screws with the Magisk pathways. I was trying to check what it did, however, I cannot explore any root directories due to my file explorer's superuser permissions now being ignored lol.
So, while this option works great and doesn't require LSposed, it prevents you from doing anything else with your root access =(.
The only way to resolve the problems is by wiping your phone, re-imaging and starting over =P.

Which is all very good i am sure but what purpose does the gesture line actually serve, why is it even there to start with is the question and not well it is easy to root your phone crack on and sort it yourself. Googles logic of it being there is baffling.
Lets be honest Google are now pushing the Pixel as a mainstream phone and it is probably bought mainly on the strength of its photographic capabilities, It isn't just the plaything of the inquisitive like the Nexus was. I bet the amount of Pixels that get rooted compared to sold is miniscule.

I would say that's true and has always been true of every phone. Otherwise, there would be millions and millions of XDA members. The Modding community is a microcosm of overall phone owners
But, why not have the pill? What is the argument against it?
Takes up space with something that useless for some.
