I noticed their website has a Fastboot file and an OTA file. Will the OTA still require wiping my device or will it install over the top of the May 2019 update?

No just downloaded and sideloaded OTA and it updates without wipe. The only new features I don't see implemented is the new gesture system, it is still using pill style from Android P.
And this which is odd to me.

I saw it on Telegram first. I believe @63c posted something about it. I had read an article a few months back that said Pixel's would be getting beta this way but super surprised to see mata firmware on the Play Store. It's really bizarre to me but I guess it makes perfect sense when you consider how hard Google tries to be like ?

Anyone's check VoLTE after flashing 10.0 ??
No volte for me, (f*ck!)
just a note, cts is broken in q beta. you wont be able to use any safetynet apps like google pay or pokemon go or some banking apps.
It's here but not the most stable. Some apps and games don't work. Pixel Launcher crashes in startup, a few launchers I've tried don't work at the moment.
Working fine here. No app problems or crashes yet (but I'm only a few hours in).
My thoughts:
"Full gestural navigation" is difficult to use. The pill is too small to grab, and it makes app switching difficult.
Sometimes the nav bar comes back when full gesture is on (in the keyboard, for example). Pressing the back button will click on both the back button *and* whatever was behind it (an app in the launcher, for example)
2-button navigation (like Pie) works as it always has.
The app switcher draws below third-party launchers like Nova and Action Launcher. After about 1 second, the launcher disappears and the app switcher is accessible. Makes for a very buggy experience. I assume this is to allow launchers to perform an animation during the transition, which simply isn't implemented yet.
Dismissing notifications can only be done by swiping right now. Swiping left sets the preferences for notifications from that app.
How do you enable full-screen navigation? I am not seeing that option under settings.

Just wanted to mention, you don't have to initiate the gesture from the pill, whether you're swiping up to go home or swiping right to switch apps, you can do it from anywhere on the "navbar" for lack of a better term.
Edit: For the full gesture system.
Can anyone say how long it took from downloading the Essential Q App to actually receiving the OTA upgrade to 10 beta3

I opted in via the beta app before I went to see a movie, when I came out I had OTA notification, so within 2-3 hours. Some stuff pretty broken, so I would only recommend using if you're a developer or don't need this phone as daily driver.

This is a second phone for me and when I saw the new beta 3 phone list I turned it on and downloaded the app., approximately 9am Eastern. I hadn't used the phone in 3-4 months so there was a waiting notice to upgrade to the lastest Android 9 security patch. I hoped it would ignore it and go on to Q but of course no luck. The security update ran ok but no Q so far?? Don't have a sim in it presently, hope that doesn't stop the Q update over Wifi.

Anyone tried Key, Chase or Citi banking apps?
FYI I had several apps crashing: Gmail, Outlook, Amazon Prime Video, and Amazon Shopping.
The fix was mentioned on Reddit but if you have opted into the beta for the Android System Webview you need to opt out of its beta in the Play Store, then disable and reenable Android System Webview.
So any apps that rely on Webview can probably be fixed that way

Android 10 Launcher for Android 9.0+
Google has made an interesting change on Pie release: moving the recents app screen, along with the (was new) swipe up gesture to the stock launcher. Following that change, the Lawnchair team has released the QuickSwitch Magisk Module which allows you to change the "stock" launcher to a supported one that you prefer.
So let's get to the point. A week ago Google has released Android 10 along with its new, improved gesture navigation. It's much better than the gestures on Android Pie. Today, I'm happy to announce that you can get the new gesture navigation on Android Pie too with this port and the QuickSwitch Magisk Module.
Features
Video preview
- Clean stock Launcher3 base
- Android Q gesture navigation
- Swipe down for notification drawer
- Dark theme
- Google Feed (dark theme now included), YAY!
- Simple icon packs support (no dynamic icons/icon masking)
Installation
1. Install the QuickSwitch Magisk Module
2. Download and install the Launcher APK
3. Open the QuickSwitch app, select the launcher and reboot
4. Set it as the default launcher
5. Open home settings, select "Developer options" and then enable gestures in there
Download
Unified build
- View attachment Q_Launcher3-v1.3-debug.apk
- View attachment Q_Launcher3-v1.2-debug.apk
For Android Pie
- View attachment Q_Launcher3-Pie-v1.1-debug.apk
- View attachment Q_Launcher3-Pie-debug.apk
For Android 10
- View attachment Q_Launcher3-10-v1.1-debug.apk
- View attachment Q_Launcher3-10-debug.apk
Notes:
- This launcher requires the QuickSwitch Magisk Module to function properly. It should work as a normal launcher alone but that's untested.
- Unfortunately, the back gesture is a part os SystemUI and can't be achieved in this port, but you can use apps such as Fluid NG to replicate it.

Thank you, really nice!
It's not working for me. I've done all the steps. The name of the launcher linked here is "Quickstep" in my default apps settings. And choosing that makes it so I can't even close any app, it just reopens the app immediately. (like there is no home screen).
And I guess you don't mean the lawnchair settings? I thought that at first but there is no gestures option in the developer settings in lawnchair (latest beta).
Working great in Havoc 2.8 This should be your new grand project. I'm using lawnchair 2 and that's awesome.
Works flawlessly on my Xperia Z3 Carbon 7.0 Pie.
It would be nice with a dark background option.
Nice work, mate.
Would be great if you add this in lawnchair

In addition to being selected in QuickSwitch, this launcher needs to be set as the default home app as well for the gestures to work.

Is quickswitch currently working on stock Android 10 rooted? And would following the steps and installing your debug launcher for Q still allow new Android 10 gestures to work?

Although untested, it should work as this launcher is the same one that stock Android 10 provides with only a few changes. Just make sure you download the one for Android 10 and it should be fine.

Does the Pixel launcher from Android 10 come with new gesture animations, and are you planning to port it?
Also, for the people who have been using this launcher, what is your method of replicating Android 10's Navigation bar? I've tried Fluid NG and the Home button doesn't seem to work when Navigation bar is hidden. I'm on Xperia X running Lineage OS 16 (9.0).

Yeah, as I said, when I choose it as my launcher, it doesn't work at all. The phone behaves like there's no homescreen. When I try to exit settings, or any app at all, it just reopens that app immediately. It closes the app, shows an empty wallpaper and then opens the app within 1/10 of a second.

No dark theme ?
I got the boot script failed error in on QuickSwitch Android 10
This is so good. The animations are smooth and work as intended.
I'd be great if google now page can be added to the left.
And also, the bottom google search bar is also missing. Hope that gets added too!
Overall first impressions, a fantastic port!!

Unrooted devices have no means to change Android's quickstep provider, which means you are stuck with default recents provider and navigation gestures.
Which, you know, defeats the purpose.
When I try to select is as the quickstep provider on OOS OB1 Q then I get an error message "Error: Boot script failled"
For years I've been running first Nova, then SmartLauncher on all my devices. I made it a habit to at least freeze, sometimes delete the default launchers. So I also did on my OP6, and it wasn't any problem until I update from OOS 9.0.9 to 10.0.1 over the last weekend. After the (OTA) update I first re-activated Smart Launcher, then froze OnePlus launcher using Titanium, like I always did.
But then I realized that the navigation bar's "square" button had stopped working: no more recent apps pop up. The button shows the "pressure" but doesn't do anything.
I tried to add the "recents" function to some other gesture, but still no success. Rebooted several times, deleted caches through TWRP - nothing.
Next I un-froze OP launcher and activated it. That's how I got back the "recents". Then I made smart launcher my default launcher again >> recents still working.
Next I froze OP launcher again >> again no more recents
So I thought that this must be a bug of Smart Launcher. Luckily the devs today released an update (V 5.4), but that didn't help in my situation.
NExt thing I tried was installing a 3rd launcher - back to Nova. But >> exactly the same behaviour: as long as OP launcher is "there" I have access to the recents. If not, then no more recents, no matter which launcher I use.
Questions:
is anyone else seeing this?
does anyone know whether this is unique to my OP6, or to OOS 10.0.1 in general, or do other devices see the same behaviour?
Never frozen op launcher! This program contains gesture and other base function since android 10.

Yep, that's what it looks like. So you mean this is a unique "feature" of OP devices running stock OOS?

Not only oneplus "feature". Other device too. My previous phone could not work gesture, when freeze stock launcher: Xiaomi Mi A2.
My issue might be related.
I updated my OnePlus 6 to OOS 10.0 stable when it was released.
However, due to the missing "fastboot boot" feature, I couldn't re-flash TWRP (and Magisk).
Now that 10.3 was released and "fastboot boot" works again, I booted TWRP, flashed it and then Magisk according to https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/how-to/how-to-flash-twrp-magisk-android-10-t3988213
Now - everything works fine - only the recent apps feature is totally broken (as in - I press the recent button, nothing happens).
I run SmartLauncher and do NOT have the OnePlus Launcher frozen/uninstalled.
I tried to install the OP Launcher 2.5.1 (to get vertical scrolling back) - didn't help.
Installed most recent OP Launcher - still, no change.
I force closed the launcher, rebooted, so far nothing helped.
Any ideas?
Kind regards
xpac
Android 10 fully integrates recents with stock launcher, so if you stop the stock launcher, recents screen won't work anymore
Are we talking about the Android Stock launcher, or the OnePlus stock launcher?
I have the latter installed, and it's neither stopped, frozen or anything like that. I even made it my default launcher for a moment, still the recents button does nothing...

Hard to say what's going wrong. From what I get recent functionality now is part of the OP launcher.
Setting your installed OP launcher the default launcher you should have recents back. If not then something must be wrong with your OOS version.
Just checked: with OOS 10.3.0 my OP launcher's version is 4.1.1.191125... and so on. Is that your version as well?

Yeah, same version, ending on ...1307ad5. Afaik it auto-updates via Play Store.
So, it "should" work, but it doesn't. I'll try to redownload 10.3 and reflash it, hope that it restores something that I broke...

Hi Thanks for the info, as a quick update Ive found that if I dont set any launcher as a default then the recent apps works fine, but as soon as I set any to the default launcher status the recent apps menu doesnt work anymore
I could set Poco as the default but I have launched it and gone through all the permissions etc. but when I launch another launcher I actually want to use the recent apps button no longer works, so either way its no good unless I never set any app as a default launcher which is ridiculous
Not sure how I can fix it either theres not much support on XDA on this phone, although overall its a good phone just let down by Android 10.
Maybe possible that I resent the device and not let it update to Android 10 although its all set up to go :crying: in the hope that Android 9 doesnt have this affect. Is there any scripts or fixes out there for forcing the recent apps button to work overriding the permissions set?
Any help appreciated on this unusual error :fingers-crossed:

Also Im wanting to use Smart launcher 5 but the Poco looks stock ish but Ive never liked this. I have the Armor X5 so Poco is the default on installation. I know there was much issue with Oneplus 6 phones, but Im not using gestures (dont like it) I just want stock android recent apps button to work.
Ive tried over laying navigation apps but of course none will work once a default launcher is set.

Hello!
Previously on Android Pie there was a way to go back to the vertical task switcher that was on Oreo and prior. The old one was vertical; the new one (since Pie) is horizontal and it's so much worse, in my opinion. With the vertical list of apps, you could see many a time. This new app/task switcher only shows one app at a time and it sucks. Google trying to copy Apple's task switcher is beyond me.
But anyway there was a command you could type (pm uninstall --user 0 com.google.android.apps.nexuslauncher) to get rid of the newer launcher and revert back to the old one. Unfortunately, this seemingly only worked on Android Pie. I upgraded to Android 10 today and if I do the above trick, no task switcher shows up at all.
Is there a known new way to get the Oreo task switcher back on Android 10?
Thanks in advance!
wish there was, havent found a solution to this either. i also HATE how google is copying apple and ruining android in the process, no one asked for vertical apple-like app switcher

The XDA package Navigation Gestures was an excellent way to remove either the "pill" navigation, or the virtual two- or -three-button "black bar" native navigation methods. However Google removed something called "overscan" in Android 11. See:
https://www.xda-developers.com/goog...ndroid-11-crippling-third-party-gesture-apps/
I've decided to remain on Android 10 as a result. There's not that much in Android 11 which excites me.

You're right, since Android 11 removed the ability to use "overscan" the Gestures application fails to start in Android 11. I have yet to find a useful or similar replacement for hiding the native Google navigation solution. I'm hoping to hear someone else suggest a possible solution.
I do not use a rooted version of Android, and I don't use Magisk. Perhaps someone who is familiar with rooted versions of Android 11, or someone who knows how to best use Magisk can offer both you and I some advice. I hope so.
