Anyone here have a RedMagic phone? How are they? Do they work with a lot of US carriers? I kind of want to use a budget carrier like Boost for $25 a month, but I may go back to Mint because it gets better service.
That new RedMagic 8 looks sexy if you ask me. Even the 7S Pro doesn't look too bad.I love the no notch display. Has some kind of cooling system in it.
8 has Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, 6000mAh battery (dual 3000mAh), 65w fast charting, 12 or 16GB memory, 6.8" screen.
The 7S Pro has Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, 5000mAh battery, 12 or 18GB memory, 6.8" screen.

All for $175 brand new without contract from Best Buy, good sized development community, the device that made LG smartphone business profitable/respectable, now #1 budget Android phone of all time. The value is just completely off the charts compared to the so called low/mid-range devices today.
I just don't understand why would anyone consider newer budget phones like One Plus One, Asus Zenfone 2, Alcatel Idol 3, Huawei P8 Lite, Motorola G, Samsung Neo etc.
All the Snapdragon 400/600 devices with lower quality builds and even higher prices, why would you consider any of these? Get a G2 + cricket and be happy!
Probably because it's €350 everywhere else?
That's 389 USD, by the way.
As opposed to €249 (279USD) for the Oneplus One, for example.
Which has a Snapdragon 801, not a 400/600.

OnePlus has launched its 6T McLaren smartphone, which is available for $699 in the US.
The device is based on the OnePlus 6T, but packs 10GB of RAM and features McLaren branding on the chassis.
It also packs a Qualcomm 845 processor and 256GB of storage.
A feature punted by OnePlus is the phone’s Warp Charge 30 charging, which lets users recharge 50% of their 3,700mAh battery in 20 minutes using a wired charger.
A 6.41-inch AMOLED display (2,340 x 1,080), dual rear cameras, Android 8.0, a USB-C port, and LTE-A connectivity also feature on the phone.

10GB of ram on a phone. We're not in Kansas anymore.
Sexy phone. If I had money to blow, I would get it. However realistically it's just a OnePlus 6 in a cute dress.

Exactly and the 845 processor is about to be left behind as the SD855 is going to be in the next round of phones in Feb or Mach. This is the reason I think the T variants are a money grab and aren't worth getting as you're basically paying premium for tech about to be replaced with the next gen. At least with a regular OP6 you get to have the top end chip for a year before it's replaced.

I have the option to trade my 7 pro for a 8.....im debating if I should go for it... I am turning to my faithful xda community for guidance lol
It just depends if your going to be trading with T-Mobile don't do it. Cause without the oneplus 8 being unlocked it sucks. My advice if ur going to to that. Make sure u get an unlocked oneplus 8. Or just wait for the 8t next month or end of this month
To me op8 is not a very big upgrade, plus I like my pop up camera. I had s8 previously and hated being stuck to 18w qualcomm 2.0 for years, in all aspects op7 pro was a lot better. I'm waiting for something like 60watt charging, 5g to be available like 4g is, 90hz and 120hz is cool but as I'm typing I only see 1 frame, and ufs3.0 is a lot faster than all phones before. Never been frozen or waiting on an app to load, everything is faster one op7 and they slightly upgraded to 3.1. Samsung stepped up their charging game but got max spec op7 for 750 vs almost same spec s10 plus for 1200
As far as I know, One Plus 8T will be announced on October 14th. Now, a prematurely-published Amazon listing has further confirmed some of the OnePlus 8T's specs.
I have both 7 pro and 8 pro. Both phones running Resurrection Remix rom. The 8 pro has 5g, faster wireless charging and the first phone to have a 1billion color display. It all depends on what you want
Hi,
So, I was planning to go for the Note 10 plus but it's price has not decreased much even after the launch of the S21 series https://www.samsung.com/in/smartpho...y-note10-plus-aura-glow-256gb-sm-n975fzsdins/ Is the Note 10 lite worth it's price? It is about 20000 inr or $265 usd cheaper than the plus one. I can live with the plastic body (as a case will be used), the lower end camera is fine but the processor and no ois is a big turn off. Also I read somewhere that the note 10 plus is more 5g ready than the note 10 lite meaning the plus one supports more 5g bands. Is it true? Ofcourse a "pure 5g" phone is months away. Any suggestions?
Thanks
I'm thinking about these two.
rog phone 5 12G 128G White
US $629.99
vs
rog phone 5S 16G 256G White
US $780.00
I don't care about the storage capacity.
I think the biggest difference between the two is cpu.
Is Snapdragon 888 Plus worth paying more to buy?
Will there be a significant difference in gaming?

If you buy the 5, At some point you will regret not going for the 5s.
If you buy the 5s, you'll be at peace until the 6 comes.
The ROG phone 5 is already more than sufficient for gaming.
ASUS ROG Phone 5S Pro Review: Snapdragon 888+ doesn't give it an edge - Gizmochina
After entering the second half of the year, Qualcomm updated its top chipset, the Snapdragon 888 Plus with upgraded performance. ROG, as one of the top gaming brands, naturally was quick to bring this new chip to its gaming phone lineup. ASUS officially released the ROG 5s series in August...

Take a look at the benchmark charts and ask yourself if that performance difference from a PHONE is worth the extra $150.
The processor isn't that significant of an upgrade, but the storage will matter at some point. I would get the 256 even if you opted for the 5.
If I were buying today, I'd consider the S just because they had a small preview of the issues with the 5 and may have improved on them, despite knowing it wasn't much. They will also be more focused on updating it.
My biggest concern would be if they improved heat management. Some small hints say it's possible. If not, the processor would be a ticking time bomb and I would definitely get the 5.
Go for 5
5s performance worst than 5 because it's hotter than 5 and will throttle more
You can watch youtube to see how bad 5s
They should upgraded cooling system for 5s to fight against 888+ heat but they didn't do that
If you want another option you can go for Nubia RM 6s which is the only one phone who can tame SD 888+
If storage really does not matter then go for the 5. Many sources and tests say it performce much better than the 5s because while the 5s has a little higher peak performance it throttles much more and gets even hotter. It depends on your usage if you use your phone longer then (let's say) 20/30 minutes or not.
I have the 5 and even that thing gets hot really quickly. I had the same question if I want the 5s pro or the 5 ultimate and chose the 5 instead of 5s due to the heating issue.
