I use the screen shot feature alot and the website linking to the image is a major thing I utilize. The amount of images and space it takes up I would like to back it up to an external source like an SD card. How ever when ever I try to move the image or back it up to an SD card it removes the web link associated with the image. Is there a way to back these screen captures with out losing the weblink tied to it. My s9+ if I move the screen captures around they keep the web link. But with my note 20 ultra it removes them.
Is there a way to back them up or move them with out losing the hyperlink attached to the image?
Thanks for your time.

Hello World!
I have a Samsung Galaxy Sii and have been taking photos happily for some time. I'm currently low on space in the phone's storage but have plenty free on the SD card. The problem is that my recent photos taken no longer show up in the DCIM/Camera folder though they are viewable in the Gallery. However, since I want to download them to my PC, I need to find them somewhere.
The odd thing is that I do have .TEC files in my DCIM/Camera/cache folder which I believe are the actual image photos in some sort of proprietary format. I wonder if maybe they couldn't be converted to .JPG for some reason so they're just stuck in the cache still.
Has anyone else encountered this or is anyway aware of a solution?
Thanks!

So I just came across this thread...Not sure if you ever go tthis resolved or not... but in the playstore is an app called TEC2JPG. This will do what you want it to. Typically, those TEC files are just the thumbnail cache. The free version gives you 3 conversions, and the paid version is unlimited. Test it with the free version first.
Hi all. I'm new to the Asus Transformer, but a veteran of Android.
Having got over the shock of 'APP2SD' not letting me put my apps on the SD card, I have a related question.
Is it possible to get the TF to *automatically* put all the pics I take on the camera onto SD card (rather than store them on the device)?
Also, how do I make use of the McroSD card? If Apps can't be stored there, what can? Do 'settings' and cache data get stored on the card automatically?
I guess I'm trying to get my head round how I might best use the extra space offered on the card.
Thanks folks!
Steve
The idea is that 16GB is more than enough to hold your apps and pictures, everything else can go on the SD cards. I use the microsd for movies and music, the dock sd for backups and such. There's a workaround for Apps2SD and such, but honestly I wouldn't recommend it.
You can move your pictures manually from the internal storage to external ones using apps like ES File explorer that's free on the play store.
Thanks
Cheers - my thoughts exactly!
..and the Apps2SD workaround looks pretty scary - even to a well seasoned android user like me

I store media on the microSD.
Also, check out Camera ICS and FX Camera. Both of these allow pictures to be stored on the external memory.
Photos on SD
Thanks Frederuco
That's helpful. I tried the two apps and although they allow me to put pics on the SD, they seem to have lost the 16:9 widescreen option for the pics. Do you know of any that retain this?
Thanks
Steve

I think CameraX does both those things but I'm not 100% sure and it's not free so don't take my word for it, just a suggestion (someone once told me when you buy an app you have 15 minutes to get a refund - is that still true?). Lots of people complained about the lack of 16:9 and there's quite a few modified camera software that support it poping up for random devices here on xda... doesn't look like anyone did for this one though.

I am not sure, I don't shoot 16:9 myself. If I want a 16:9 shot, I just crop it down. I rarely shoot with my TF because my phone has an 8 MP shooter, and I have a DSLR when I am serious about shooting.

Yes they still have a 15 minute return policy.
Photos on SD
Thanks
Yes, CameraX gives the option to save elsewhere, but if I choose SD Card, it still saves the pics to the main storage area. I think it might be something to do with the restrictions Asus places on saving SOME stuff to SD

3 years ago it was not possible i think, but maybe something was changed?
I got a lot of photos on my phone and everytime i'm moving them to SD card, Google Photos thinks that it need to be restored from the disk and in a moment I have them twice everywhere - on SD card and on phone memory. Confusing, don't You think? Every time i got my phone memory full of photos, even if my card is still empty (or also if i will have card full with duplicates).
Heres more - i need an high quality of theese photos, so i can't participate in Google Compression Program, or whatever gives me unlimited storage space, with lower quality. Not cool. But if i only could change the default folder to SD card... Maybe something bit more complicated, like with rooting and changing advanced setings?
I will be very grateful for any help.
I'm trying to move away from google photos and I have a ton of images from Google Takeout all sorted out. As such I need to know where do I put my photos in so that the default MIUI gallery app (and other apps of the like) will see them. Also is it possible to change photos saving location to an external SD card as my model is pretty susceptible to breaking and I need to make sure that my photos aren't truly gone.
Thanks in advance
The more technology becomes better/advanced/easier to use, the more people seem inept at using it.
Dude, put the photos on external sdcard in any damn folder you like. Android's mediastore will fully scan your storage on a let's say, a reboot and show the photos in any gallery app you can think of. Personally, I prefer F-Stop gallery app, since it has all I need to move/copy/rename/share or do anything with pictures or video files, and it does not depend on internal mediastore system. FStop gallery app even shows up as a file selector in default file explorer, if you use one.
Also make a full backup of the images to a disk in your PC. It's not that hard.
...and have an off-site backup obviously.
external sd or you can copy it to your pc
ok thanks for all the advice
Important: Instructions on how to force google photos to reindex your library and show all information properly can be found at the end.
Google photos is a notoriously broken app on android due to its oversimplification of various processes, such as no manual photo scan feature, no duplicates remover, and a lack of proper EXIF metadata enforcement. I don't know if it's the same on other brands of phones, so I'm posting this here, but hopefully this will find well the power users of google photos.
I have a large library of photos from my various travels over the past few years using smartphones. (I really only started taking pictures seriously in 2020) My library amounts to 3072 photos and videos, or 57GB. This isn't nearly as much as people who've been taking pictures for longer, and especially professional photographers, but it does pose a challenge for indexing. Google photos is not a program I perceive to be designed for the power user, which in this case I am. Because of this it's very easy to confuse it. Simply removing your microSD card, adding pictures to it, and reinserting it into the phone can cause google photos to scatter your photos and videos across different days, meaning that pictures from any given day will be scattered across multiple, this is first seen when pictures you've taken on the day of transferring show under the "Yesterday" heading, despite showing the proper date under the information tab. Included are some screenshots with a demonstration of this. (These screenshots were taken on March 13th, 2023)
I've spent around 3 hours last night (March 13th, 2023) and today (March 14th, 2023) attempting to solve the problem, and have come up with a temporary solution. If this issue happens to you, here are the steps to solve it (if your photos are on your internal storage, you'll have to copy them off your phone, delete the folder, and re add them instead of the SD card procedure.)
1. After removing your SD card from your phone to transfer files, either uninstall and reinstall google photos, or clear the app data.
2. Set up google photos as normal. Turn on backup.
3. Transfer the photos and videos you'd like to onto your SD card.
4. Insert the SD card into your phone and restart the phone (On the LG V60 this is required to recognize the SD card after it is ejected or removed. The SIM card is hot swappable, the MicroSD card is not. If you require hot swappable SD cards, consider purchasing a USB-C reader)
5. Wait for google photos to index the contents of the memory card. It may take up to 3 hours depending on the speed of your SD card and the number of photos and videos you have.
6. Check for duplicates. Sometimes google photos will misinterpret the data and re upload it, causing a duplicate to form. This may be more likely to happen if any of your photos are:
• Lacking EXIF metadata.
• Are stored in the HEIC format.
• Already have duplicates - it's more likely to form more.
• Have non-standard file names.
7. Your photo library should be indexed properly now. Scroll through your library and check if it's recognized all photos in google photos as also being stored on your device. If this isn't the case, you may want to let it process your photos for another hour or so.
If anyone has found a more reliable way to do this, feel free to share! I'm hoping this will help anybody struggling with Google photos formatting.
