Does anyone know if the S22 Ultras sold in Mexico have an unlockable bootloader?
What about Italy?
Hard to say. Typically, Samsung devices with Qualcomm chipsets marketed in the US are not bootloader unlockable, while Exynos devices are. I do not know whether Samsung sells Qualcomm based devices outside of the US or whether bootloader unlocking is possible on those.

Hi everyone, I heard a rumor that the Galaxy S7 has identical internal hardware across all carrier models in the US, and that the antenna bands are simply switched on and off in the firmware. Thus, if I were to buy the AT&T Galaxy S7 (930A), could I flash the firmware to T-Mobile (930T) and have full 2G, 3G, and 4G LTE support with all of the necessary carrier bands? Or would I still be missing a few?
I'm assuming that I would be flashing the firmware from Samobile with Odin and that I need to carrier unlock the phone and the bootloader first.
For those wondering why I want to do this, there's a huge sale on the AT&T model on Samsung's store.

I think the only difference in terms of hardware is the processor. The international version seems to be better on battery too.
The big difference overall is that you probably can't root the US version since the bootloader is blocked.
Check these links out for the processor/battery comparison:

I meant between the versions in the US (T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, etc.). If there's no differences, then all I have to do is change the software.
I didn't know that the US S7 can't be rooted. Can you unlock the bootloader?

I have a us Cellular s7 edge, currently running the 935u firmware. The s7 carrier models in the united States are basically all the same. There is a root available just check out the other carriers forums. The bootloader cannot be unlocked at the moment.

That's interesting (and kind of scummy for samsung to do especially since they have carrier exclusive sales).
Is the hardware the same for the s6 too?
So I just bought a 970U1 global unlocked SD/S10e. In my ignorance, I thought the bootlaoder would be unlockable because it isn't tied to any US carrier and it is marketed as a "global unlocked device".
I am wondering if it is possible to flash firmware for the 9700 to the 970U1?
Then the next question would be.
If no, why not? The hardware appears to be identical, all the way down to dual sim capability.
If yes, would it work with CDMA US carriers, specifically Verizon? As the 9700 does not appear to support CDMA.
If the 9700 does not support CDMA, would it be possible to flash the radio so it would?
thanks-
I bought a North American s10e with the Snapdragon processor. I didn't know at the time that it would be (evidently) bootloader UNLOCKABLE.
I can give this phone to a friend but I want to make certain that the next s10e I buy will be bootloader unlockable. How can I know for sure by the listing information (I expect not to be able to put my hands on the phone before purchase) that the s10e I'm looking at will be bootloader unlockable (Exynos rather than Snapdragon, although are ALL Exynos s10e bootloader unlockable?).
Hi, as far as i know it's just the snapdragon 970u models that are locked, i think the exynos models are all ok but i do stand to be corrected!
all the exynos models can be unlocked.
as far as snapdragon goes, only the hong kong variant can be unlocked.
Does anyone know where i can buy a s22 ultra snapdragon ? i live in the east coast usa
Any US carrier branded S22 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8Gen1. Also, an unlocked device purchased directly from Samsung for the US market will have the Snapdragon chipset.
You can buy it from Amazon.

Best Buy, Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Costco, Walmart, Target, any cell phone shop, direct from Samsung.

Edited my reply to include unlocked device, direct from Samsung purchase.
Just want to add the US version can't be bootloader unlocked or rooted, even the unlocked version from Samsung (model s908u/u1)
I bought a s908e through Amazon and I'm also eastern US, rooting was easy.. thanks to the awesome devs here
I am looking for an S22 ultra with an unlockable bootloader(root) that works with 5g in the US (t-mobile).
Does one exist? I don't care if it's snapdragon or Exynos, but I can't seem to find a definitive answer.
Seems rather expensive to just keep buying and hoping.
Is there a specific country or model these come from?
Any help is appreciated!
Check with your carrier to see if they are still supporting International devices. I know At&t will not support certain devices anymore. So I would check first before buying one

None of US versions' bootloaders are unlockable. The 908E model is unlockable.
