Question Mekede carlink doesn't connect when a ssd is connected. - FYT Android Head Units

Hello,
I have a Mekede M500S (octacore, 4gb/16gb) and I am generally happy with it. But I have a weird problem. Carlink connects nicely with my phone (Sony Xperia 10 ii) using wireless Android Auto. Until I connected a Samsung SSD to one of the USB ports. After that carlink doesn't connect anymore. And after trying carlink also the access to the SSD is gone. Without the SSD carlink is absolutely fine. And without using carlink, the SSD is working fine. What is causing this behaviour? I use a startech ATA to USB adapter for connecting the SSD. I have tried all three USB ports of the headunit, all the same result

External TMC adapter?

Hi all.
I followed most of the activity around here for the past 5 monsths or so, and noticed several topics about the TD's internal FM radio for possible RDS/TMC usage. All without much luck.
Recently I bought a standalone TMC adapter (Navigon Trafficbox) with mini-USB connector. However I don't seem to get the thing to function at all. iGO 8 doesn't detect it, iGO 2006 and MioMap 3.2 detect it even without plugging it is (-_-) and Navigon Mobile 7 only goes for Bluetooth adapters.
Does anyone have any experience with standalone adapters on TD, know whether the USB port is mapped to a virtual COM port (and if so: which) or how to sniff the USB port to see whether the adapter is even transmitting data?
I do not believe diamond has a usb-host service to even let devices connect via that port.
I think only a bluetooth tmc reciever is usable.

DeX crashes when connecting USB hub to Type-C Adapter (not original DeX)

Hi,
I just bought a similar to this Type-C to HDMI and USB Adapter for testing DeX. I didn't want to buy an expensive adapter, because I'm not gonna use it very often (maybe this changes, when Linux is ready).
I works great, I also connected my Logitech k400 without any problems.
So I tried an USB 3.0 hub with card reader (3x USB, 1x SD, 1x Micro-SD) to it and DeX doesn't show up anymore.
The S10 still shows, that DeX is running but my monitor goes black.
Does someone know how to fix this? Is this a general DeX related issue or just adapter related?
EDIT: Found out that it's working when I connect the hub before connect the "DeX" adapter.

8227L USB ports

Hi. I have a rk-a715 unit with Android 8.1Go Yt9218_00002_V004. Recently I bought USB cables 6pin and 4pin. As soon as I connect them, the main USB port it is not recognized anymore, it shows only the internal memory. How can I solve that? Thank you.

USB To Ethernet moden via UTP cable

I have a question.
After an upgrade of my head unit with a PX6, Androi 9. I have no working WIFI or Bluetooth. The question is, is it possible to connect the headunit via USB-Ethernet adapter direct via UTP-cable to my router in-house. I can realize a test setup for the unit in my office, but am not sure if this will work? An experience with this setup?
I have a MTCD/E unit (MTCE_LM) with a PX6 RK3399. I have a USB to UTP connector, which I tried on my Android (11) tablet and my Xiami phone. There it connects via the UTP cable (after disabling WIFI and 4G), and gets a IP adress form my (DHCP) router. Hope somebody tried it on the head unit with
What happened when you tried it
Did not rty it yet. HAve to wait for my upgrade unit. And have to create testsetup in my homeoffice. My car is not reachable with an UTP cable Will let you know when I have results.
You can use a USB Modem like the HUAWEI like the e5573 and use it like a ethernet cable. I am not 100% sure if you can connect any ethernet wires, just try.
Another option is wipe and reinstall firmware, like hal9k one to solve wifi problem.
I have two PX5 head units here that work just fine with any USB to LAN adapter. I don't see why it wouldn't work on PX6.
Thanks. Tried it and mine works fine also.

Using SBC (Odroid N2+) acting as an android phone inside a car having a screen with custom Android system

Hi Guys,
My car manufacturer only installed an application called carbitlink in the middle console, which can be used to mirror your phone to the car screen.
I wanted to use the raspberry pi or any other sbc (single board computer) inside the car to act as a phone that the middle console can mirror it by the app carbitlink.
I could access the console system (it uses some custom modified version of android) but this will void car warranty.
So the only solution is either mirror the phone or uses something to act as a phone (in this case raspberry pi, odroid c4... Etc).
The problem is that I installed different versions of android on a raspberry pi but the car console doesn't detect it at all when connected to it.
The car console uses USB A to connect to a phone to be mirrored. I have different phones that works normally when connecting to car console the carbitlink app works fine (installed on the phone, and on car by the manufacturer).
What do you think is the problem? That the Pi 4 doesn't have OTG? (I know the otg are built in the power usb c port, but is it an otg case?)
Also if I purchased odroid c4 for example tgat has a separate micro USB with otg feature, will it work? (since it have an otg micro usb as I read)
My car is having a middle screen with built-in some custom made android system that has some apps for the car to work and they added an application called carbitlink which is used basically for mirroring a phone (Android or iPhone) to the car screen.
I wanted to use raspberry pi 4 to act as a phone and be mirrored to the car by installing the application carbitlink on raspberry pi 4 (usually the application needs to be installed on the phone for mirroring to the car).
I installed two of Android builds (13 and lineage 12), but the car screen system does not detect raspberry pi 4 as it is not there at all.
Car detect any phone with application carbitlink installed just by connecting the USB from the car to the phone but not to raspberry pi.
I read a lot about OTG and I am not sure if this is the case?
USB C on the pi should work as otg right?
Car having USB A
I connected the car USB A to raspberry pi 4 USB C
It gives enough power to the pi to startup and run but carbitlink is not detected by the car...
Any ideas?
Will odroid c4 with otg works?
**update:
I successfully mirrored the odroid but I tried only lineage os on that odroid and it have some bugs...
However the touch not working effectively still
Needs some modifications but I am sure all of it will be software issues...
Any nice ideas is appreciated
