Good morning,
For several weeks I have been observing and unfortunately the problem appears more and more often, the disappearance of the touch of the display ...
I am right-handed, so I use the phone a lot with my right hand on the right edge - at the height of my thumb, the connection between the keyboard and the communicator, once in a while my touch in the area of the p/0 and park buttons above - also other keyboard buttons do not work properly, keys next to it.
I use Swiftkey but never had a problem with it - could it be the keyboard that's the problem?
hardware issue, send it in for RMA asap
RMA u mean to samsung support?
Hi,
Samsung support is very stubborn (compared to dell which is very pro-customer).
I received the following advice:
1. Turn off the phone, enter the android menu and clear the cache - done.
2. Through samsung members, attach the error log from the phone and report the problem - I did.
I wonder what Samsung's next steps will be.
I have had the phone since October 22.
The problem with the screen appears more and more often.
*video* In the attachment I leave a video that scrolling (of a previously loaded page) just at the moment when the display goes crazy - as you can see (touch trace) I try to scroll in a classic way by moving my finger on the screen, but the page moves only as much as I move my finger, as if something somewhere causes an additional touch to stop scrolling. As you can see in the next part of the video, it improves for a while and then the same thing again.
Anyone had similar? How did it end?
Thanks greetings.

Diamond Pro - fantastic piece of kit. I moved from Diamond to the Pro and have been happy with one exception that is beginning to drive me bonkers. I'm wondering if I'm the only one effected by this but essentially here's the issue:
* Reboot Diamond
* Pop out keyboard
* Select text or any other app
* Start typing... screen pops into portraits...
* Screen pops back into landscape
* Screen pops into portrait
* Screen pops into landscape
I have tried rebooting and I have also tried a few other ROMs to no avail - I'm thinking I could have some defective hardware - possibly the switch is not cleanly connecting to tell the DP that the unit has the keyboard out. The lighting on the keyboard comes off then goes off and then the other hardware buttons come on (normal portraits buttons.)
This problem is driving me insane as I cannot actually type something without the screen changing orientation. THE REAL SCREWED PART IS SOMETIMES IT WORKS FINE... then... just when I think the problems gone... BAM! Back to the jerky portrait dance in landscape keyboard mode! aarrgh!
I have tried pushing the left side of the keyboard up with my fingers while I type and this occassionally will actually stop the unit from switching back and forth (leading me to believe that it is a contact or defect with the piece that lets the unit know it's in landscape.)
Q: I'd like to avoid doing a general return replacement as I have flash the ROM and cannot find the original Telus ROM to reflash the unit to it's original state - anyone tried cracking a DP yet and and anyone with experience know if something like this issue can be fixed with some simple poking around?
Q: I searched the forum - didn't find this issue before - anyone else have this issue?
After doing some more testing...
It appears this ONLY happens when I use the hardware keyboard. Using soft keys in portrait mode works seamlessly... when I tap the hardware keys the portrait to landscape switching starts.
Hi everyone
I first dismissed this error as another manifestation of the N1's touch screen drawbacks; but since I owned the Nexus S, the same error reappears, and it’s driving me nuts:
All signs point to the fault being caused by the Gingerbread keyboard. This is how you reproduce it:
1) Use more than one keyboard layout / input language
2) Type anything, switch to the first symbols keyboard
3) Hit any key from the symbols keyboard, and afterwards, directly the space bar
4) The keyboard switches back to letter mode, all good up to now
5) Hit the symbols button again
6) The input language automagically changes to the adjacent one, the keyboard switches back to ABC mode
Suffice to say, this is quite an annoyance. There’s a workaround, though: this doesn’t happen if you hit the ABC key before hitting space, but that’s not how I expect my keyboard to work.
Is anyone else able to reproduce this issue, and if yes, does anyone know how to fix this? Unfortunately, extensive research throughout last week didn’t bring back any usable results.
Thanks for your help!

Hey!
this happens also on my Nexus S...really disappointing (
I played around in the Keyboard settings but couldn't find a way to fix this (unless you remove multiple languages....but that's not the point :S).
Hello!
I'm experiencing some problems with my o2 Touch Pro.
Hardware buttons on the bottom of the phone (d-pad, home, back, call, end call) are not working properly (they work fine only 20% of the time, it's random i guess).
When i press "call" button, device responds as if i pressed the "left" button. It's very annoying. The circle used to zoom in, and out around the "enter" button is problematic as well. It zooms - but but in a very chatoic way - a bit of of zoom in, then zoom out, another zoom in. Functions are just messed up.
Another time, it's all working...
How can i fix it? Is it a hardware problem?
I'm using the Energy Rom - titanium version.
Thanks for your help in advance...
Honestly, if you can't deal with it, get another device. Either that or stick with the stock ROM, less problematic (you can also keep the full function of the d-pad) but then again it may introduce other issues. Someone mentioned this being more a hardware than a software issue. Since I cannot reproduce this on my at&t Fuze, that is all I can suggest on my end.
I get some of that with my fuze; mostly, the d-pad doesn't read gestures properly. If I run compact heaps (from sk tools) periodically, it helps. Soft resetting obviously helps as well. I think it's more of a hardware issue. My problems have definitely gotten worse over time. You can also check out this tool (from an HTC test rom dump; can't remember where I got it). It's a debugger for the d-pad. At least you can see how accurately the button presses and gestures work.
Thanks.
[Q] Help with possessed keyboard & unusable homescreen column in Galaxy S4 sch-1545?
I am having problems with my new Galaxy Verizon S4 Sch-1545. I have searched forums and google and have been unable to find working solutions for the following 3 problems:
1. On the home screen and all of the other 6 screens, any app icon that is placed into the second column from the right becomes unusable and unmovable. In effect, it becomes a picture of an icon. I can tap and hold an icon in any other column then use it to bump icons in the 2nd column but when I release the icon, the bumped icon snaps back into the 2nd column. The only solution I've found is to use Wondershare Mobilego to connect the S4 to my pc, turn on mirroring so the s4 screen appears on my pc screen, then use my laptop's mouse pad to tap/hold and move icons out of the second column. After they are no longer in the 2nd column, icons become useable again. I made sure Interaction control in settings is OFF and that no part of the touch screen is blocked by the interaction control setting. Turning the phone off/on doesn't help nor does removing the battery. I have Malwarebytes installed and it has found no malware.
2. The Samsung stock keyboard randomly types letters, especially in portrait mode. In fact, I gave up using the keyboard in portrait mode. For example, when I type the letter h, the phone enters the letters gj. Sometimes the backspace key flickers and letters are randomly entered and erased very quickly while I sit there and watch without touching the phone. I have disabled, swype, predictive text, gestures, everything I can possibly find that might cause the phone to enter letters I didn't type. I'm using Touchwiz and have no other launcher installed on the S4. When I tried other keyboards like Smart Keyboard, I had the same problems.
3. In Settings, swype keeps turning itself on no matter how many times I turn it off.
Not a technical person but I'm pretty comfortable with trying technical solutions if need be. I just switched from iPhone (which I'm beginning to regret) and I jailbroke the iPhone after each operating system update so if the problems above call for a technical solution, just point me at the step-by-step instructions

Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. It looks to me like you're dealing with a hardware failure, specifically a faulty digitizer. I'd suggest you find an app on the Play Store to test your digitizer, it sounds like you have a dead spot/column.
No response in two days, thread closed, thanks.
Hello,
I've recently bought a Lenovo P11 tablet to take notes. When drawing with a pen, however, I have this problem (and I have verified it by enabling touch detector in developer options): when I lay the pen/finger on the screen, there is an area (I would say 2-3 cm) where the cursor doesn't move even if I move the pen. When I exit that area, a line gets drawn between where I started and where I arrived, but this is wrong as I may have drawn curves in the middle of the two.
This leads to two things:
* When I want to draw something rounded (like a "2"), the upper part gets drawn as a line unless I draw it very big.
* When I want to draw something small, only a dot gets drawn because I didn't leave the "area" and therefore didn't trigger the cursor.
Now I am pretty sure this is a software problem, as if it were a problem with the screen this wouldn't happen only at the start of the line.
Also, I'm sure this is not because of the application I'm using (OneNote), as I've tested with the developer options to show the cursor and in any place in the OS, when I start drawing, the cursor is stuck at where I've begun.
Anyone can help?
Thanks.
