Question No vibration after bootloader unlock? - Motorola Edge (2021)

I just got a refurbished Moto Edge 2021 and decided to unlock the bootloader.
After I unlocked the bootloader using fastboot and the moto unlock code, my phone won't vibrate.
It's not on do not disturb, and the hardware test for vibration fails.
Does unlocking a bootloader interfere with vibration or is it just a coincidence?

I'd say Coincidence. Try using RSA / reflash stock firmware otherwise likely Hw issue.
My first moto g7 the vibrator stopped working less than 30 days of light usage so it could happen..

Thanks! I assumed it was coincidence, it was a refurb phone anyway.
I think I'll just get a smartwatch to see notifications silently

Relock and stock

Hi, my question is: if bootloader is unlocked, is it possible to relocked it and then re-stock all? I mean how can if i unlocked bl to return to complete stock rom and bl blocked?
You can relock but the bootloader will indicate that it previously has been unlocked.

In which way it will indicate that?
..so we will need of some hack like on samsung to reset that count, right?
I'm not sure if the Moto G is like the Moto Atrix HD but unlocking the bootloader blows one or more fuses which can't be fixed. Maybe the Moto G is the same?

Interesting reading. If motorola were ever to stop issuing bootloader unlock codes it could potentially be hacked.

I had an Atrix HD for about 5 days before I decided to unlock the bootloader in order to load a custom rom. I tried locking the bootloader to no avail. Not a big deal since it didn't cost me anything when I did a hardware upgrade and the phone has been rock solid.
The Atrix HD is a great phone with the right rom.
The Moto G's stock looks very much like an AOSP rom.

RE-lock bootloader

My mic died on my droid maxx and I am wanting to try and get a warranty replacement. The problem is I unlocked the bootloader via the china man. I am aware that some phones have a "fuse" that is tripped when you unlock but have heard of people resetting it on other phones. So... I wondered if the droid maxx has a hardware or software "fuse" and if so does anyone have a way to restore my phone to "warranty-able" condition. :fingers-crossed:
AFAIK there is a possibility to re-lock the bootloader with a fastboot command but the phone in fastboot mode will show not the original "Device is LOCKED. Status Code: 0" but some other code indicating that bootloader was re-locked. I could be wrong but it seems to be Code 2. So there is a chance that you'll have to pay for replacement as warranty is void as soon as you unlock the bootloader.

I concure with stanislavshulgin; you can relock the bootloader via fastboot but it will show as status 2. Also note that the steps on the moto website to re-lock the bootloader are incomplete. There are a couple of additional commands that need to be issued, one of which is "fastboot oem lock begin" the other might be "fastboot oem lock finish" but it's been so long since I did one that I can't remember. A little research should get you the correct commands and steps.

I suspect coincidence. I had several Droid Maxx's with unlocked bootloaders and the mic's didn't die
Ha interesting, my right ear on my wired headset jack went out after I unlocked. Not sure why it would sudden stop working either.

relock bootloader for warranty?

ive been having this overheating issue with the phone, basically at times it gets really hto while chargeing. so im pretty sure i will have to send it in and id like to know a way to relock the bootloader so i may do so
Hi,
BootLoader unlocked by giving Motorola all infos to receive a bootloader unlock code ???
Obviously they already know your Moto G is unlocked...
im pretty sure that the motorola tech support doesnt even check for that, theyre not very bright. i would just like to relock the bootloader just so that warning doesnt come up when i turn it on

Ok ok...so, after just 10 secs of research, here you go : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2597856
(flashing a bootlogo will do the job, if it's only for warning message...flash a Motorola original one...)

[James] Bootloader Unlock

Just tried to unlock the bootloader for james / Moto E5 Play and Motorola currently isn't allowing the bootloader to be unlocked.
James uses the same msm8937 SoC /msm8920 baseband as the E4, so I pretty much had TWRP and the Lineage devices trees ready to go...but can't do anything without unlocking the bootloader.
Just passing on some info...bug Motorola. I'm good to go.
Damn, I was going to try tonight. I got the Boost mobile variant. Guess you save me the headache of trying. Thanks.
BL Unlocked
Try again I just unlocked mine. Got it last night at Walmart

So you are confirming bootloader unlock on the Boost Moto E5 Play?
Yes sir I am. XT1912-5 is my model #
Im also confirming. It wasn't until after I did everything through out setup it ungeye the OEM unlock switch. BTW exact same with the g6 play. And the xt1922-7 is the bomb.
What steps did u take to unlock. I entered device info into Motorola website and it can find unlock code for bootloader
I tried today and it finally let me unlock it. Will get TWRP working tonight (Hopefully).
What's the method to unlock the bootloader? I've been recommending this to all my college friends
Go to Google and type in Motorola Bootloader unlock. Click on any of the first 3 links and follow each step exactly as it says. Don't skip anything or mis read/jump paragraphs
I tried this but I got a bad key error. What should I do next? Mind you that I triple checked the key was correct and yes, it was
Following for info.

All the Moto devices say "bad key" when you unlock the bootloader. That's probably normal.
The Cricket Wireless variant, XT1921-2, does not qualify for bootloader unlocking according to Motorola's web site. Fsck.
Boost e5 play unlocked. Got bad key error as well then just powered on as usual
The "bad key" error when flashing the /recovery and the /boot partitions, as many of you probably already know, is completely normal and will not cause any adverse issues other than the annoying nag during boot. When the bootloader is in an unlocked state, and the /boot or /recovery partitions are flashed with an image which is not digitally signed by Motorola, a qFuse is blown during the /aboot boot chain and /tz sends the "bad key" notation to the /logo partition. A workaround to this is to flash a custom boot logo with a light color near the top which effectively hides the nag.
Don't know if confirmations are still needed, about a month ago i was denied a unlock key, tried last night after seeing all the success here, unlocked easy as pie. Boost mobile e5 play. Will be watching for some custom ROMs, hopefully someone can hide from Safetynet once again
Can anyone confirm if Moto E5 Play actually has treble? I know it ships with 8.0 but I want to be absolutely 100% positive
I also have the cricket e5 cruise and the moto website is not letting me unlock no matter what I try,.

Relocked Zenfone 6, lockscreen or fingerprint no longer working

I've had my Zenfone 6's bootloader unlocked for quite a while, but I relocked it a couple of days ago using the "fastboot oem asus back" command.
Everything went as expected and the phone did a reset. However, I can now not add any sort of lock to the screen.
Whenever I add a pattern, pin or password, the settings app crashes. Because I can't add one of these, I also cannot add fingerprint...
I've tried doing another factory reset without any luck and the phone seems to be working fine in all other ways...
Can anyone help?
Ask Asus team on ZenTalk. I haven't seen anything related in there. They should be able to clarify the issue.
Downgrade to pie and then let it upgrade to Q again. Fixed it for me when unlocking the bootloader. Something about locking/unlocking bootloader on Q breaks the fingerprint sensor but Pie doesn't have the issue.

Yes, what DaConcho said worked for me, trust him
Anyone in the US tried downgrading to pie using the firmware on Asus site?
