Question How to get rid of this notification? - Google Pixel 7 Pro

It is a permanent one from lsposed and just appeared after an update. Wasn't there before. Cannot be disabled for more than a few days.

i am on 1.8.6 (6721). how do i get the beta? and yes, disabling the notification doesnt really work for more than a few hours.
weird thing is...i did not have the issue before updating to the latest version.

First press Verknüpfung erstellen (Create shortcut) in Settings. That creates a new shortcut on your home screen, you can remove the old one after long pressing it.
When the new shortcut appears, you can disable the status notification. That option is currently greyed out.

i got it...it was greyed out because i didnt clicked the button to generate an app icon. i now did that (already had one but whatever). now i can disable it.
thank you very much guys!

Interesting, but why is it like that?

It's a way to make sure you can open it, cause if the notification is gone (and you didn't make a shortcut), you cannot open it any more.

Yeah I can understand that, was looking into it a bit. What makes the manager 'parasitic'? How does that work?

[APP] [4.3+] Hold Back To Kill [ROOT]

Here is an app that allows you to hold your back button to kill the currently open application.
If popularity is high enough, I will update it with things like whitelist etc.
If you use a Samsung device, the only problem is that you can't show the MultiWindow bar anymore. I will work on a fix for it. I only made this because xposed doesn't work on Samsung Lollipop yet so this is what I wanted until it is. Once it works, I prolly won't ever touch this app again.
Thanks everyone!
UPDATE:
- Performance improvement
useful, thanks for this!!!!
Great job! I've been missing this feature since I switched to Lollipop. Thanks!
hi,
It seems to be working on CM12 but a little too good
Apps get killed right away when i press "back"whatever time-out i set in the settings.

Hello, CM12 with standard navbar (3 buttons) doesn't have that setting. It s only implmented in roms with navbars with extra settings like opening an app etc etc
Having Trouble
I'm having a similar problem where even a single tap on the back button is closing the app. I have a rooted Galaxy S4 running Android 4.4

So this is happening when using the navbar and not the physical buttons?
It seems like the up action isn't being triggered. I could try to implement maybe a double click back to kill option. Ill try to debug on my 5.0 emulator that uses the navbar and see if i can figure anything out. Weird how that's happening.

hello again,
No, i dont use the navbar In cm12 (disabled) I use hardware buttons. If ndg1988 uses stock then he doesn't have a navbar so i guess he uses the hardware buttons too

Hm, I truly don't know then. I really would need the device in hand to test with. I could try to do testing by sending you a file with loads of debug information in it. Would you mind that?
Good News

I was just an idiot that assumed the activation time was in units of seconds, not milliseconds. This may be what most people are having trouble with. It works well now, so thank you and keep up the good work.

no, but it will take a while. i need to test multirom on my device and i have have to finish the translation of an app first.
Thanks mate
Awesome - best thing that can happen to a rooted stock rom.
btw its labled "Main Activity" in App Drawer, not "Hold Back To Kill"

Yup. Realized that after releasing and didn't care too much about it. In the next update (if ever one would exist) i'll fix it.

Must be some 3rd party app you installed.
It has either "draw over apps" rights (Settings->Security->Draw over apps) or even root rights (if you are rooted).
remove the permissions one by one and reboot to find the culprit app

I hope it's an app but I uninstalled everything I added to the device yesterday and it's still there. It goes on and off periodically. A reboot didn't fix it.
Yellow font 'offline' in a gray bar.
Anyone else seeing this?

Yes... Exact same thing.
I have the same issue on my Pixel XL. Just started about 15 minutes ago. Haven't downloaded any new apps in at least a week.
Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
Can you guys go to settings->developer options: running services and send a screenshot of all running services?
also are you guys rooted?
Also pulling a logcat might shed some light into it.
Well this is both scary and good. It just stopped. If it starts again I'll take screen shots and post.
No I'm not rooted.
Well cancel that... It started again... Incoming requested info.
I'm having this problem on my Pixel XL. As soon as I deleted "Zedge" it went away. I redownloaded it and I am trying to replicate the "offline" message to see if it goes away again when I uninstall Zedge.

@Nsain1 got Zedge installed as well. Wonder how it can draw an overlay though without the "draw over apps permission".
ES File Explorer is also often a goo candidate when it comes to weird ads and such.

I stopped using ES Explorer a long time ago. It's not installed on my phone.
So I uninstalled Zedge and ES Explorer and rebooted. The message is still coming up. I appreciate the suggestions. This is odd for sure.
Not rooted. I wonder what app is causing this, it will notify offline even though i am connected to wifi, and it will not show up if i will turn off wifi.
Zeke125 - By chance you don't have control 4 do you?

Brightness slider disappeared from pull down notification area.

Like the title says, my brightness slider just disappeared from the notification pull down area. Im running oxygen os 10 with root, twrp, No Limits magisk rom, elemental x 2.0 kernel, and substratum lite mod that changes fingerprint icon. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.
I have the same problem, I didn't find a solution yet
what I found out is that the slider reappears when I create another user... so it looks like it's some kind of broken user setting
Could it be your DPI settings? Just throwing something out there...
what version of android

I was able to replicate what you said and it disappears again after switching back to my normal profile. I guess it is a broken system setting that they have to iron out.

[solved] Brightness slider gone with latest update

Hi everyone,
I noticed that the slider in the quick access bar (the buttons you get when you pull down the notification bar) has vanished with the latest update. Anyone else having the same issue or any idea how to re-enable this?
Thanks
Abprie
Edit: solution in second post.
Pull it down all the way.
Tap the carrot at the end of the slider.
Toggle on and off a few times the option to make it show the way you want.
It's hit or miss for me. Sometimes it shows up, sometimes it doesn't.

This is absolutely non-standard behavior and you are probably the only one who reported something like this. There must be a cause. Nothing else annoys you? Are you going to do something about it?

Not much help here other then to confirm that I just updated to WW_17.1810.1911.110 about a week ago and the slider is still on my "pull down". I didn't do anything special for this.

Google Pay Card Switcher

I just updated my Pixel 3 from Google to July Android 10, stock rooted with Magisk, and noticed that the Google Pay card switcher (long press on power button) was active. I ended up shutting it off, because I wasn't planning on using Google Pay. Well, I changed my mind and set it up, but now I can't reenable having the card switcher. There is now no switch to reenable it in the Pay app.
Any thoughts?
In settings, type power in the search bar at the top. Then look for "show cards & passes". Turn it on and it should get you the card switcher back. If it's not there, I don't know what to tell you.

In a million years I would never have thought to check there... Why that setting is not in the Google Pay app is beyond me... Oh well, the miracles of Android never fail to amaze, and confuse! Now, if I can get my dialer app back into light mode, I would be happy!
