Question Wireguard Magisk Module? - Google Pixel 6a

Hey, has anyone gotten the Wireguard Magisk module to work correctly?
I've installed it and toggled it on in the app - but IPLeak.net shows all my IP addresses as T-Mobile and various T-Mobile server locations.
But if I use the Surfshark VPN app, it works completely, and the only IP is my VPN location.
I've tried using the same Surfshark-Wireguard keys and credentials, and I've tried generated new ones. Says connected but leaks my carrier IPs.
Am I missing something? Is the stock kernel the issue? I thought this was supported since Android 12?
I'd appreciate any help. Ideally, I would like to turn it on once and not have to worry about a VPN app running in the background and the time.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

.

There is a wireguard app on fdroid, you don't need a magisk module for wireguard to work on Android.

[Q] L2TP/IPSEC VPN never connects.

Has anyone got an L2TP/IPSEC vpn connecting on the s7 at all?
Everything I try just results in a failed attempt to connect, however, if I try the exact same connection settings on my N4 running 5.1.1 then it connects first time every time.
did you manage to get this to work ?
L2TP/IPSEC PSK here and not able to connect via S7 but does fine with my Windows 8 laptop. OpenVPN works on S7 though
Nope, not at all.
Marshmallow fails totally still. Did find a google link which suggests it is an OS issue.

thanks for that https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=196939#c70
I have found a work around. If you can force your VPN server (assuming you
are in control of it the way I am with mine), and can force it to use SHA1
instead of SHA2 then it works. It seems the version of SHA2-256 that
Android 6.x.x is using is an older draft specification and the one
implemented in many other IPsec implementations uses the official SHA2-256
implementation with the correct padding and whatever else.
Has anyone else tried this? I have it set on my server and works with both
new and old Android. Though I am not fond of having to intentionally
weaken my security strength by having to run an older hash algorithm but
considering we can't use Diffie Hellman group larger than 1024 bits anyhow,
seems like a moot point.

In your ipsec.conf file you should add three additions,
add ,aes256-sha2_256 to both ike= and phase2alg=
Then add a newline with sha2-truncbug=yes
reload ipsec
You should now be able to connect to your VPN. I've tested it on my Nexus 5x now, and works like a charm!

I had a problem too connecting it to my Synology DS214+ L2PT/Ipsec. I got it by removing my capital letters in my password and after I was able to connect. I don't know the capital character was the problem but now it's working for me.
I am trying to set up a L2PT/IPSec VPN profile for my S7 running on Superman Rom (Android 6.0.1) but always when I connect to the VPN, it says "Unfortunatelly System UI has stopped" and the phone then crashes. Not sure, if this is Custom-ROM specific error, OS-specific error or something else.. Somebody too experiences this problem? Any solutions/ideas, how I can get the VPN connection work? Maybe there are some apps, capable of doing this (I found none capable of L2PT)?

I have same problem with NOBLE rom did you fix it?
No. I then recognized that my VPN provider also supports the VPN connection via Cisco AnyConnect (also for Android), which was very simple and straight forward.

how to completely remove ipv6 support from android 10

as the title suggests I can not completely and perpetually disable ipv6 in android 10. I tried with edxposed and custom script but it does not work, or rather sometimes yes sometimes not.
I would like to delete it on the kernel side
For Android, IPv6 can only be disabled if you’re on a mobile data connection. This is because Android does not support DHCPv6 over Wi-Fi by default.

How can I Bypass tether restrictions

There used ba a thread on here telling how to bypass the tethering on the Ace 1 5G but it's since been deleted. Does anyone have any info you can share on how to do this? It would be much appreciated!
Depends on what you need, really. I recommend VPNHotspot for most users. If you don't want to use a VPN, use a local VPN like Adguard. No need to pay for it or have any blocking enabled, just having the VPN service enabled is enough.

Are you using a local or remote VPN? Try through 1.1.1.1 Warp if your using local VPN, it should get around service blocks if that's what your experiencing.

This only appears to happen on Android 11 and 12. On 10 I don't have any issues, with or without VPN Hotspot, PDANet, or going the tunnel route with a VPN.
That hasn't been my experience, though I haven't updated my devices to Android 12 yet. Your Android version shouldn't matter and passing traffic through a remote VPN service should get around any carrier dpi and blocking.
Have you done any debugging? Like trying a dns lookup(nslookup google.com) or pinging a remote IP(ping 8.8.8.8)? To get an idea of what is not working.

I've tested many similar apps and Easytether was the fastest of the bunch. And it supports OpenWRT. It has the same problem as all those apps though, it's just not stable. You have to reconnect usb often which makes it useless.
But as an approach for bypassing hotspot limits, apps like pdanet and easytether are solid. The only way to really combat them is carrier snitchware. I still have no idea what @Articul8Madness is experiencing past a Roku box not working, but carrier software not properly disabled could be another thing to look into.

There's something going on with this Android 11. Even after debloating its doing crap like forcing updates. They've done something different and I haven't really gotten to the meat and potatoes yet. Debugging and pinging a remote IP doesn't work - I can't even do a custom APN because when I go to save it the phone autodeletes it upon saving.

Only way I know to disable the Moto updater is to delete it with system r/w or make a Magisk module. It's in /product/priv-app/3c_ota/ and can not be disabled by normal means.
You can also use Magisk to modify /product/etc/apns-conf.xml to change APN settings, but that doesn't matter for the apps your testing.
Does your ping test only apply to VPNHotspot or another setup? Are you using any VPN, and if so, which one(s). Does it work with the normal android tether/hotspot function(while you have data)?

its reasonable stable for me with a popular carrier hooked to linux computer which you can bridge for wifi hotspot lan router, etc.with firewall set
So tethering freedom is not longer available on the factory unlocked version?

Seconding VPN Hotspot. In my case I was able to get it working with Blokada 4.4; Blokada 5 and 6 don't work with it, but also seem to be worse at blocking ads anyway.

Question Mobile Data not turning on after leaving WiFi Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G (veux)

Hi,
I'm running MIUI 13.0.6 stable (EU rom) with Magisk 24.3 (zygisk + universal safetynet fix 2.2.1).
When ever I leave a WiFi (WiFi still on or off doesn't matter) mobile data won't turn back on.
I have to reboot the phone to get it working again. Airplane mode or turning mobile data off and on again doesn't do the trick.
Am I missing something?
Help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance
IG
Edit:
It seems to be connected with a firewall setting. Does anyone know what service is used for switching to mobile data in MIUI?
Got it sorted out, had to allow kernel (Afwall UID -11) to access WAN, mobile data, roaming and VPN.
Thanks to @berbant from github

I'm not sure what resources you are referring to.
If you want to know how I came ti the conclusion for kernel, I went to the afwall github page and found a similar issue.
If you want to know how to allow kernel, you need to configure the UI to show System apps and show App-IDs, then you can enable what you need. Depending on your UI configuration you might only see WiFi, Mobile Data and Roaming. You can adjust that to be more "specific".
If you use a custom iptable config script you'll need to edit that.

It's a shame there's no out-of-the-box solution for this. I wonder if there's a chance someone found a non-root solution to this problem.

Question At&t Hotspot / Tethering

No sure if this is allowed, please remove if not.
I have the PP7 Unlocked, rooted, magisk, zygisk and lsposed on an At&t unlimited elite plan.
Is there a way to add "Share VPNs to clients" option to a rooted PP7 like on crDroid?
I am coming from a OnePlus Pro 7 that was running crDroid (A12) and this feature I used all the time.
I have tried the "VPN Hotspot" app and it doesn't seem to work along with the NordVPN app, I didn't have a problem sharing the NordVPN app connection on crDroid rom with the Share VPNs to clients option enabled.
Another route for me could be tricking the phone into not showing hotspot data as hotspot data but I am not having any luck finding any magisk or lsposed modules for this. Closest I have found is this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/magisk-tethering-enabler.3937427/ but it seems it hasn't been working since A12.
Anyone have any thoughts or ideas?
Try this maybe? It specifically says it can be used for unlimited hotspot.

Edit: Seems it's the same app you said doesn't work. File an issue on the issue tracker.

Thank you, I filed an issue!
I just used this on a Verizon and TMO pixel 7 pro and worked great. Just flash reboot and boom tether works.
[Magisk] Tethering Enabler
This is an update of this module, which hasn't been updated since Magisk v10. Additionally, I've disabled connection to the dun APN, making it appear as normal data. I'm intending to add TTL fixing in my next update.
