Question Two handsets for dual SIM in the Phone app. - Samsung Galaxy A53 5G

I don't have A53 5G (android 13).
Is it possible to set the Phone app on the A53 5G to have two handsets to choose from as in the picture?
If so, please advise.

Yes there is. Here take a look, the button labeled Gloob (which i renamed) can be pressed to switch to the other sim.

Dual SIM in both S7 and S7 Edge by default?

Hi, I've seen the hybrid microSD + dualsim adaptor that may have the S7 by default, but only in certain countries.
I have currently an S6 Duos (regular version, I didn't find the Edge in dual sim).
Do you think that would be real?
the second slot is either for a microsd card or sim card

are you sure? I was refering to Europe, as far as I see in EU it will be like this
The European and U.S. variants don't have dual sim; dual sim requires to use two baseband chips, which is adds an additional cost to the manufacturer, therefore you can guess Samsung will only implement it on markets with high demands for such products (China, India...)

The ones offered in Belgium on pre-order seem to have Dual-SIM...
The SM-G930F and SM-G935F which are, respectively, the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge for the European market, are not dual sim.
So what the well is the hybrid SIM and microSD slot?
Ps: Huawei P8 lite also have this with only one imei and support 2 sim cards...

They just use the same sim tray worldwide to minimise costs.
Because they use a hybrid SIM tray does not mean your handset supports more than one sim card.

If you assume the physical connectors for a second SIM is in the tray of the SIM/SD slot of all major versions.
But there was a discussion if only the Exynos version that aims at the Asian market will get also the connectors for the second SIM.
From experience Samsung often build a range of phones and sells them under the same model no. That leads to an uncertainty until the last minute.
In Hong Kong they usually first sell the regular international one (F) and after a while also the (mainland China targeting) Dual SIM version (D or whatever).
If physically a second SIM card is connected over the small tray... it still needs to be managed by the OS. I am curious to see if all versions of Samsungs OS will have that capability.

maybe you are right, we shall see
this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/how-to/user-manual-samsung-galaxy-s7edge-t3321948 then page 133 of the hand book shows all about the sim draw
i don´t get it, should i be able to enable the dual sim in all the variants (maybe changing the sim trail) or some models will support it and others don´t?

I think its only
Model numbers SM 9350 and SM 9300 for China and HK
Model numbers SM 935FD and SM 930FD for SE Asia
Well i guess dual sim only for exynos version..
Is it hardware or software related? I mean, in latter case, one could use a custom ROM in order to enable dual SIM compatibility.

Because of how the tray looks on the S7 people were hoping it's already ready to go for Dual SIM, but it isn't S7 manual explains there's a SIM tray that supports 1 SIM + 1 micro SD card, and then there's a SIM tray that supports 1 SIM + 1 SIM or micro SD card (meaning you either have two SIMs in or 1 SIM and 1 micro SD, can't use 3 of them at the same time). But as of right now Europe and US are getting the 1 SIM only phones, as of right now Dual SIM isn't available. Maybe if you dig you could find it on some Asian shop which is usually where they get Dual SIM phones, maybe India too?
I have a dual sim S7, other than having dual sim, what's the difference between dual sim and not dual sim S7?
Any update on this? I am about to buy an s7 edge but definitely not willing to shell out a ~100EUR more for the DUOS model. (I am in Europe, getting the Exynos version won't be a problem)
Dual sim card need full network band. This is only can be achieved by Qualcomm. Qualcomm has the patent of cdma standard
So dual sim need supported from Hardware .Exynos version often sells in Europe. So Samsung do not need to worry cdma or another standard. Europe use WCDMA.

OnePlus 7 pro 5G dual SIM, but not active?

Hey all, as from today I'm a OnePlus 7 pro 5G owner... With a bit of a downfall.
Before I bought the phone I made a bit of research about this device to see capabilities and if it's worth the money.
As I know this device is dual SIM from factory and I was expecting my op7pro 5g to be the same... and it is in a way, but has no functionality of dual SIM phone.
When I've pulled the SIM tray out I could see inside the phone on both sides of SIM tray has SIM pins to make contact to the SIM, so I've made one of the SIMs to fit in the tray because is not a dual SIM one, but you can adjust the SIM card to fit there.. and I know it's not the SIM faulty because I've tried it on and works.
Any idea how to make it work dual SIM... I have to specify it's on a contract from EE UK.
Please give me some ideas, I know to all the stuff with ADB so I'm not afraid to use it ?.
If the phone came from EE instead of OnePlus directly, then it might be subsidized (payments) through the carrier. If it is not unlocked (cannot unlock the bootloader), then you probably won't be able to fix it.
Here in the States (USA), TMobiles OP7 Pro is locked and the second sim disabled. But you can fix that by unlocking the phone and flashing the International Rom to unlock the second sim slot (second slot is software locked, not hardware locked), allowing dual SIM if you can get your hands on another sim tray with the dual slots.
Don't know if this is the same for you, but it is worth looking into if your carrier does lock the phones down and allows them to be unlocked.
It's not dual SIM as it's a limitation of the 5g modem
The 7 Pro 5G IS dual SIM capable. It has 2 modems. The Qualcomm X50 5G modem and the modem built into the SOC for 4G. It's the firmware that's restricting dual SIM functionality. If you wish, you can convert to the international variant but you WILL lose 5G connectivity (if you have it).

yes I own the Oneplus 7 Pro and that sim tray is the exact same one that goes into the OP7T Pro Mclaren.
I have t-mobile and i bought my sim card slots from amazon for both the OP 6T and OP 7 Pro. I was able to successfully convert each of those phones using msmtool. But the damn OP7T Pro Mclaren 5G from t-mobile I can't find a solution.
I have the Oneplus 7t Pro Mclaren 5G Edition and all I want is to activate dual sim. At this point I don't even care if 5G works. I would sacrifice it if there was some way to install OP7T Pro onto the OP7T PRo Mclaren.

sure, which phone? the 6T or 7 Pro?
Can I confirm that you tried using a OP7Pro international firmware via MSMTool on your OP7PRO5G? Did you ever fix the issue?
I'm just trying to workout if using a OP7Pro international firmware makes it work as a dual 4g sim (I really dont care about the 5G)
FyI I have a OP7PRO5G(EU)
I tried to use msmtool to make it a op7pro international (was a fail or I wasn't doing something right....I get "Param pre-processing") Can someone please advise me.

Hello how i Can do'it?

Dual SIM

Anyone know if N20 Ultra will have dual SIM in States? I've searched but couldn't find anything solid on it.
ANy update fellas? Are they gonna release OTA to add eSIM functionality? I am regretting buying this 1300 bucks toy now.
I want to know this too, would pull the trigger right now but can't find it. Official site says there are single and dual sim models, but when you go to checkout doesn't say what you're getting!
https://www.samsung.com/global/galaxy/galaxy-note20/specs/
Just chatted with support, FWIW, he said only the Global version has dual-sim, not the US version.

Well that's a bummer.. I guess it's going on swappa or offerup, still making money.
So the USA model won’t even be dual sim EG one physical sim and one e-sim? [emoji23]
Nope, yet Apple has had it for two years!
Dual sim= Sim+ eSim
Exynos
just like the s20 ultra it isnt clear at all. there does seem to exist a 'B' model and an 'F' model, some are dual sim, some are LTE only. its hard to find exactly the right one. In the Note 10 the 'F' model didnt have band 30. But on the LTE only s20 (no 5G) there is band 30. But on the 5G model there isnt band 30. Frustrating if you use AT&T
I think the dual sim model of the Note 20 ultra is sm-n986b. its not clear if its dual sim or sim plus e-sim.
The US models are historically NOT dual sim on nOte 10 and s20.
In Europe is dual sim = sim + sim or you can use sim + esim + SD card on ultra

Omg, i always have to buy the HK versions of Samsung devices because they Are Snapdragon+Dual Sim, but if (FINALLY) Samsung make USA model version Dual Sim too, that means (at least for me) pay less. Did you have the link? i want to check so i can make the pre-order

That link is for "global" version and it says ESIM support is dependent on country/carrier. Samsung has disabled ESIM specifically for US for some odd reason. They promised S20 will have ESIM with a software update but that did not happen as of yet, we can only hope their $1500 flagship N20 Ultra supports this but as of now there is no mention of it.

Don't hold your breath!
Has anyone used one of the international Dual-SIM unlocked models recently? I'm guessing they still don't have the ability to do VOLTE and Wifi Calling because they don't have the US CSCs available. I have the US unlocked Note 10+ and appreciate how smooth the carrier swap process is, but like everyone else I'd prefer to just leave a couple of SIMs in at the same time.

It depends on the carrier, but you will get WiFi calling and VoLTE on US Tmobile if using Exynos dual sim model. It lacks the important bands though like band 66, band 71 and some 5G bands
From what Ive seen and reading - no Dual Sim in North America ( same like S20 ) -which means Physical + Esim, having just Esim means phone w/o a physical sim and thats it, but not work in conjuction
Users experience for S20

It acts like the regular Snapdragon version will support Dual Sim???? I won't be able to test it out until Monday so curious if anyone else has tried.
I have an ATT SD variant that lists 2 IMEIs on the box, however, it appears the eSim functionality has been disabled. there's another thread on the eSim where this is being discussed as well.

Is it true when you enable 5G you lose dual sim functionality?

I just heard it from one of the reviewers and I needed to confirm it from one of the experts here

When 5g is enabled, phone is only single sim and sim1or2 doesn't really matter.
Yes poco said that when you use 5G phone will be single sim till they will give update that will make 1 sim 5G and other will be 4G
You just have to read the user guide.........
About Dual SIM:
• Supports Dual SIM cards with no carrier restrictions, single 5G or dual 4G
connectivity ①
• Supports Dual Nano-SIM card slots, either card can be set as the primary
card
• Supports single SIM 5G/4G+/4G/3G/2G
• Supports Dual SIM 4G+/4G/3G/2G
• Supports Dual SIM VoLTE HD calling ②
Note ①: 5G support depends on the local telecom operator’s network; if
the primary card 5G is enabled, the secondary card will not be available;
subsequent software upgrades will include support for primary 5G and
secondary 4G/3G/2G card mode function in dual-card situations.
Note ②: VoLTE service availability depends on the local telecom operator’s
network and service deployment
Not so complicate....
So according to the user manual dual sim support while 5g enabled is coming with a future update? the phone is five months old, did the promised update come through yet? are all other ROMs available for this device have the same issue?

The phone was launched 5 months ago but probably due to the pandemic there is surprisingly little development and discussion from the community's side. Barely 4 roms.
I have been waiting 2 months now to upgrade because there is no way I ever use MIUI.
Last week LineageOS was released, but it's Android 10, and only initial build.
I will probably wait or lineageOS 18 before I buy this phone, but this means waiting few months the way things are going.
Dont forget that very few people use dual sim on their phone... Not a priority to fix ;o)

I would say there are more dual sim users than 5G users, maybe that's it.

Dual Sim?

So I was reading that the Snapdragon variant was dual sim compatible thanks to the hybrid sim tray, my question is does anyone know which firm ware I would have to flash to be able to access the Sim Manager to be able to utilize the dual sim feature? Or can anyone shed some light on this subject?
Long story shot there is no dual sim on the snapdragon Note 20 ultra. You'll need the exynos DS version, but you lose the memory card
only the n9860 snapdragon variant have dual sim support.
