Hi, What is the best stable and gaming rom for j700m? - Samsung Galaxy J7 Questions & Answers

I'm looking forA good rom for my J700M

Of all the roms I've tested (android 10 and 11) none surpasses the lineage 17.1 with the sandwich kernel I can leave it with 800mb free for games and up to 900mb if I lower its resolution with the help of fde.ia and hktweaks.I play Mobile legends, arknights and fate go (but it became impossible to play fate now due to the high ram consumption of the last updates) another relatively good rom that I liked was havoc but its ram consumption is a little higher I can only leave 700mb of free ram and 800mb with low resolution.

Thank,Could you share with me the settings you use in those 2 apps?

Fde.ia
IA mode: auto and advanced mode
Analyze apps on. Powersave for apps and perfomance for games
adaptive downscale if you want but it will bug your camera. you can download gltools to lower the games resolution if you want to use the camera
gltools:https://gltools.app/
Hktweaks
Virtual memory: enable virtual ram with maximum memory and set swapiness 100. the rest fde.ia will configure itself
Low memory killer: select the second option
disable all wakeloks
never touch the boeflla wakelock blocker
don't forget to turn on apply at startup

[APP][2.0 and up+] Total RAM Booster - Lightning Speed!

Your device is slow enough? Can't play high end games? RAM got eaten up fast? This is the app for you. Give your device the lighting speed in one tap! A must have tool for all Android users. Just try it and feel the difference in speed.
How Total RAM Booster lets you play your games and use important apps with lightning speed:
The intelligently designed booster engine will keep eye on RAM used by apps that are on background, and freezes/kills the background tasks which will end up in giving the "forefront" app a big RAM usability share [i.e the top most displayed app/game will get more RAM share and resources]. Thus when playing high end games, if you feel that your device is slow or lagging, just minimize the app/game and boost your RAM using TRB or just use TRB widget for that lightning speed gaming experience.
Total RAM Booster is not just another task killer. It has a newly developed innovative RAM optimization technique named "Reduced Wake Up Optimization". It scans and find the most "waking up" apps and freezes/kills* them without root/super-user permission for a better RAM Boost.Total RAM Booster gives you lot of dedicated RAM share for gaming. A must have for all devices.
First RAM booster to boost when RAM is 70%, 80% or 90% used.
Similar Apps: Total Defrag, Defrag+, Memory Optimizer etc:
☆ 1 Tap RAM Booster. Game Booster.
☆ Home screen Booster Widget.
☆ Automatically Boost RAM. [PRO]
☆ Boost when RAM is 70%, 80% or 90% used.
☆ Boost in time periods (5 mins, 15 mins, 30 mins, 1 hr, 2 hrs, 3 hrs, 6 hrs, 12 hrs, 18 hrs, 1 day, 2 days)
☆ CPU usage analysis and graph.
☆ Clean while boosting.
☆ Full Memory stats.
☆ Fine, Normal, Strong and Extreme boosts.
☆ Notifications of boost.
Freezes for rooted device (need root permission. Wait for next update), kills/restart for non rooted device (current version).
Android sets control over maximum RAM that can be used by all process from a single package. So TRB cannot provide more RAM share for other apps than this permissible limit.

Very high RAM consumption :( help

my Galaxy J7 J700M uses a lot of RAM, especially with MarshMallow ROMs (Touchwiz)
i cleared ram, played a game with xmod (app for modding games) + screen recorder, ram started using 60% but after about 15 minutes ram is 90%+... They had no problems until it LowMemoryKIller closed screen recorder and xmodgames, after some minutes my game is to slow and was closed for lack of ram. so no ram free!
any tweak, buid.prop code, kernel or optimized touchwiz rom for multitask and little memory consumption? cyanogenmod discarding obviously because the camera does not work and has very low performance
sorry for my bad english. thanks :good:

Gaming on honor 8

Games like pubg running like mess on honor 8 nougat 7.0 even a hundred dollar phone can run pubg better
I think the main culprit is kernel bcz pubg is not using high performance cortex a72 cores i have monitored it while playing
My ques is : is upgrading to oreo will solve the problem??
Because this chip is not optimised by game developers
Or can we tweak the kernel
Or can i turn off 1st cluster of a53 cores
??????
pubg runs good on my phone
Maybe if someone be able to port GPU turbo to honor 8
I have noticed the exact same thing but the bigger cores drop to prevent over heating i guess. Playing pubg on paranoid Android rom, using root and forcing a72 to work at performance using kernel adiutor works great.
How to force a72 cores??

Use kernel adiutor app from play store. You need root access so either magisk or SuperSU. Then you can drag from the left to find core option and you can then choose the frequencies of both a72 and a53. Use full while playing. It'll kill your battery not drain but really kill your batteries life.
It works best on custom ROMs, tried on stock but failed because of the kernel continuously resetting.
Search on google for "GPU turbo XDA". There's a thread where a developer has created something like GPU turbo. You'll need a custom recovery and magisk installed on your device to use it. Hopefully it might help. To play pubg I use Gltools and Gfx tool for pubg.
Set your GPU to adreno 540 using gltools and then open PUBG. In the graphics settings change the Quality to "Smooth", this will unlock extreme FPS setting. And select FPS as "Extreme". Disable changing auto fps. Save the settings. Now try playing the game.
(Optional) Exit the game and open GFX tool for PUBG. Select 0.7 version and change the resolution to lowest and graphic settings to "So smooth". Don't touch the FPS setting. Save and run the game. With this the game will run smoothly with over 40+ fps all the time for hours. But your trade off will be some graphics in the game which you'll have to get used to. I hope this helps.
Game is not running when i set adreno 540 on gltools
It closes automatically

It works fine for me in any adreno and Mali GPU setting except for open GL2.0 GPUs. Maybe you should try clear data in PUBG and try again.
Just a quick update. Games are working super smooth on RROS B2. I didn't have to use gfx tool for pubg to reduce graphics like I used to do before. Just used gltools to unlock 60 fps and it works like charm in higher graphics quality and steady frames around 50-60fps. And the best thing is phone is not even getting hot even after 1 hour of pubg :good:

It's r20p0 here.
Just wanted to check whether anyone else's device drains battery even while charging when playing pubg or if it is only my phone.. any reply would be appreciated
You shouldn't play games while charging. It's killing battery fast.
Will we get gpu turbo on H8?
No

Yes the battery drains even while plugged and playing pubg. That's only on stock ROM. In Custom ROMs it charges even when you play.

How to get great performance from your note 5 Pro (Whyred) while preserving battery l

So I am writing this post just help some people who might be thinking about how to churn out the best performance from this phone gaming wise or not while also maintaining it's battery life so that you can tackle the dilemma of wanting good performance or good battery life.
So this isn't a very well structured and comprehensive test but more so what I have found in my regular usage using this combination.
So I am right now on MIUI 11 9.10.24 Beta [Xiaomi.eu] with extended kernel V12 EAS. I have also used custom ROM's based on AOSP (Both android 9 & 10), so I think my judgement can be fair.
I play two games , that is PUBG mobile and PES 2020 mobile. This two games are graphically intensive games (more than candy crush or temple run). So I have set this two games as my benchmark for performance.
So here are my experience with different combinations of ROM's and kernel withh these games :-
1. Pixel Experience Beta + Stock kernel [Android 10]
PUBG mobile :- Graphics : Balances , FPS : High (30)
PES Mobile :- Graphics : Standard , FPS : 60
So in this the result was that even though I was able to play PUBG on high and it was running smoothly without any hiccups , I couldn't say the same for PES mobile as on 60 FPS it wasn't as smooth as I had hoped it would be and even on 30 FPS it was struggling to play smoothly. And according to me the smoothness just shows that where the game is able to keep the FPS consistent and where it cannot.
So..
PUBG mobile :-
Running Smoothly , Almost no FPS drops
PES mobile :-
Not running smoothly , Constant FPS drops
To my sheer suprise I had the same result with this ROM on Extended Kernel V10 EAS . And I am pretty sure there wasn't any issue that the ROM was in beta test , as you will get same results in Android 9 ROM's too.
2. MIUI 11 beta (9.10.XX) + Stock kernel [Android 9]
PUBG mobile :- Graphics : Smooth , FPS : Medium (25)
PES mobile :- Graphics :- Standard , FPS : 60
So in this Combination the results do a full reversal as here PUBG is locked at low graphics with maximum of medium (25) frame rate while PES mobile is able to do standard graphics at 60 FPS. And the result is also somewhat confusing as the smoothness in PUBG at low with medium frame rate is not that great (Meaning frequent FPS drops) but PES mobile with FPS set 60 and standard graphics is running smoothly (Meaning almost no FPS drops).
So..
PUBG mobile :-
Not running smoothly , Frequent FPS drops
PES mobile :-
Running smoothly , Almost no FPS drops
3. MIUI 11 Beta (9.10.XX) + Extended kernel V12 EAS
PUBG Mobile :- Graphics :Balanced/High, FPS :High(30)
PES mobile :- Graphics : Standard/High , FPS : 60
So this is the last combination and the best one in my opinion from my experience. The results are honestly too good. In this PUBG mobile is able to run on balanced and high graphics with High FPS (due to the kernel using fake GPU ID which shows the GPU as Adreno 512 instead of Adreno 509) and it runs very smoothly , meaning almost no FPS drops. Now for PES mobile the graphics is set to standard which FPS is set to 60 , the game runs very smoothly meaning almost no FPS drops..
So..
PUBG mobile :-
Running smoothly , Almost no FPS drops
Pes Mobile :-
Running smoothly , Almost no FPS drops
So in conclusion as you saw the last combination is able to run both game smoothly without dropping any frames , I personally think that MIUI 11 beta + Extended kernel is the for performance.
Note that it's Not necessary it should be MIUI 11 beta , the results will be the same on the stable versions too.
Note #2 , It's also not necessary to always install extended kernel V12 as the other later version will also provide the same performance. But it's necessary that you USE the EAS version as many users have told that EAS version is better in battery compared to HMP version.
TL;DR :- Use any Extended Kernel version that is EAS
Now about the battery life I have been getting around 7h Screen on time , and I would say that I am medium user (I play this 2 games but not very frequently .. Like 2 hours in a day both combined) based on my usage..
So it should suffice any person in battery life unless they are very heavy users (Playing games for a large amount of time etc.)
So thank you for reading this Post ! This was my first on XDA and would like to know if it helped anybody. This was my experience I just wanted to share that I thought would be valuable to some people.
Is camera working with MIUI 11 (xiaomi.eu ?) and Extended kernel ?
You should try kangarooX 5.5 with eas performance module.
Pubg at balanced settings and high fps(60) works great. Can you run a test with high settings and high fps and do a comparison with your results?
