I'm going to say you probably dropped it and it broke the touch screen. I had a similar issue where I dropped my A53 from 3 feet, no visible damage at all to the case, screen protector or phone at all, but the battery would drain over 20% overnight just sitting on my nightstand and Wi-Fi was broken. I tried resetting, nothing worked.
Your next step is to register your phone on the Samsung website, request a repair, and they will send you a prepaid shipping box to send it out to their repair center, and you should get it back in about a week.
The A53 isn't durable at all. It's a nice phone, just don't drop it from more than 18 inches.

Why didn't you send it to Samsung? It's under warranty.

Hi folks,
I've had my Sensation for 3 days tops and something has happened to the back cover. It doesn't wipe off, have absolutely no idea what caused this.
Pretty poor considering it's two days old and treated with kid gloves, couldn't have looked after this phone more if I tried. Crazy.
My GS2 is still prestine, not a mark or scuff anywhere.

Nothing like that on either of my two back covers. I'd get it exchanged.

ffs... you had to send the entire phone back?
I've changed roms and allsorts already.
Yeah I'd ask HTC to supply you a new one, not acceptable really. Probably only a minor problem on a select new units because the build quality is usually top notch.
I've emailed HTC via the customer service channels on their site and attached a pic. See how it goes. Sending the entire phone back would be ridiculous. Cost them more in shipping, hassle and man hours.
I had a similar issue I think with my original cover. I had it less than 10 days, always on micro cloth etc. and I had a spot in the back cover. Of course everyone here will tell you it is something you are doing wrong but I handle my phones with the greatest care and always get top dollar for resale.
In the End HTC sent me a new cover and I have not had anymore problems so far, knock on wood..
T-Mobile have said I would need to replace the whole handset if I go through them. I hope HTC have a better answer, got it setup how I like, the battery is warmed up and broken in nicely too.

Sad that I broke the screen of my Galaxy S3. The phone just slipped and fell on the floor. Screen got cracked.
Called the local service center and got a quote of Rs.6600 (~$120) for the replacement of screen.
I went to Samsung Service center (#139,Sterling Heights, Opp To Hindu, Infantry Road, Bangalore - 560001). I had spoken to the manager there (Mr. Manasa Reddy) 3 times in the last week or so and every time he picked up the phone and answered my questions politely. Prior to that I had called Samsung India service line. They gave me the name, address, number of all the Samsung authorized outlets in Bangalore including the number of Mr. Reddy.
After getting there, I was called-in within two minutes by the staff at the counter. I showed her my phone and told her that I wish to change the screen. I also requested her to call Mr. Reddy so that I could've a chat with him. I requested Mr. Reddy to have the technician replace the screen in my presence. He obliged by actually having the technician come out and do the job in front of me. The technician's name is Murthy. Awesome guy. Did the job perfectly. Also gave me enough time to test the phone. I came out impressed with Samsung's service (this particular center). I would highly recommend this center.
The screen replacement took 15 minutes. Basically the guy removed the motherboard and peripherals and put the same on the new screen. No removing the old screen with a blower and stuff. Neat work. It's expensive but Samsung has done a good job in designing the phone in such a way that you just need a screw driver and a small plastic picker.
Finally the technician removed the model/serial # sticker from the old chassis and stuck it on the new one.
Hope this info helps people who happen to have broken their Galaxy S3 screen.

Thank you for the information. Even I dropped my S3 , and the screen has got a small crack. I will probably call them with the same quote that you have mentioned here.
And just as you know when I called Samsung folks they did not give me any quote and told that I will have to check with service centers.
Thanks,
Shashi

There is a huge difference between a glass screen being super-resistant to scratches and being able to withstand being dropped onto a stone floor from 4 foot
There is glass that can put up with that kind of abuse - the military puts it into the windows of IED-resistant transport - but your phone would be about 8 inches thick and weigh 10 kilos
I'm glad to hear that Samsung has made it so easy to replace the screen. i had to replace the screen on my old Palm Pre and it was a bit of a nightmare.
Just going to Close this Thread....
Thank You and Yes Closed.
Hi,
I originally posted here:

But my issue has somewhat changed. I realised that the phone was still working, and i could see stuff on the blank screen if i shined a flash light at the screen. This led me to beleive it was the backlight that was broke.
I investigated replacement screens and it seems that there a lot of cheap replica screens out there that have their own issues, and rather than pay full price for a legitimate LG part (around £95) I decided to buy a second hand faulty N5 from eBay that had a working screen (£50). The one I purchased had an issue with its mic, and the screen works perfectly fine.
I placed my motherboard into this phone from ebay, but it became apparent that the same issue was happening. The backlight wasnt working in this other phone.
I placed the motherboard from the phone I bought off ebay and it worked with the screen in my own phone!
So the problem seems to be isolated to this part:

I didnt think the backlight would have anything to do with this, however its the only part I have swapped around. :/
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
Same issue?

Thanks!
Hi there, just thought I would share this with you and ask what you think.
So, I have a Moto G 3rd (bought it a month ago), I quite liked it and was a good upgrade from my original Moto G. However, I never expected it to be so fragile. After one small fall (like 30 cm) my screen seems to be completely messed. I mean the display, as outside the phone is just fine, no cracks or anything, and it was the first time I dropped it. Here's a picture:

This is really disapointing, and I'm in complete shock, as probably warranty won't cover it and the phone was a major investment for me. Has any of you had a similar experience? Is the moto G not as resistant has it once was? The original one could take a LOT of damage, and it just dying like this on me breaks my heart.
So, what should I do? I contacted Motorola on the website and after a long talk they basically just told me to go to the store where I bought it, which I'll do thursday (it's far from where I live), but I fear they won't offer help. If they don't, is there a way to still send it to Motorola and pay for the repairs? I've tried china replacements on other phones and was never quite satisfied, and this is a new phone :/
Thanks for reading, needed to share my pain!
That's exactly what happened to my previous phone (samsung galaxy s3 neo). Screen was ok, also because it was protected by a tempered glass, but the lcd broke and only showed a few purple lines.
Unfortunately, the outside screen spare was quite cheap (30 euros) while the lcd repair was 120 euros, so I decided to buy the moto. A bumper should protect from this kind of accident.
I'm afraid it's bad news.
Hi guys, just here for a quick update.
I went back to the store and since the device was in very good shape they sent it to warranty and said it could go off has a gpu fault.
I'll update when I, hopefully, get it back!

Great news, let's keep finger crossed and hope they can fix it for free.
Hi again!
Just here to tell you guys I got my phone back and the repair was covered by warranty! Hope my story helps if anyone runs into similar trouble. It was fairly quick too! (2 weeks)
Bear in mind my phone only had 1 month and was in really good shape (no scratches).
Hi guys,
First post but been reading the forums for a couple of months (excellent source to learn Android).
I bought a Dasaita PX5 headunit and installed it with no issues. Everything was great.
One day on my commute to work I had Waze navigation running and all of a sudden screen went completely blank.
Tried to reset and even though the lights blink in the touch buttons nothing happens.
Discussed with Dasaita support and they sent me a new core board.
I installed the new core board today but unit is still dead. Screen is completely blank.
Any suggestions?
Only had factory stock rom and never tried to flash a custom rom.
I’m desperate here. Bought the unit 8 weeks ago and have had it running for less than a week. Shipping of new core board took ages and I had to pay additional customs fee.
Really hope someone has a good idea
Sounds like the screen conked out. And/or connections between the motherboard and the screen.
What they should have done is sent you a new unit instead of a core board, because that unit ought to be under warranty.
Regardless, did you notice if the connectors going to the screen were loose or ajar? Did you reconnect them?
Did check screen connectors when I changed the core board. Everything was in place.
They now agreed to send me a new unit so now I can just wait. Hopefully the new unit will work with no hiccups.
In my case, The solder of the motherboard was melted and it was short-circuited.
Nothing was displayed on the LCD. I cold only see the touch key backlight.

This unit was sold by Dasaita (HA), And repaired by cleaning using a solder suction line.
The motherboard looks very ugly, but I only cleaned part B. You better consult a person with expert knowledge before doing it.

Hello friends,
I‘m new here but I have the same problem like the thread starter. Im from germania, so my english is not the best
My story :
Last year in august i ordered my Witson rv5336.
It all worked fine, but this monday nothing worked any more.
The screen is black, no sound no reaction to the touchscreen. Only the keys are lightning. Tried to do a hard reset, only the keys are blinking.
Witson, the manufacturer, said i need a new coreboard. But for me, it sounds like a dead screen?
What do you think?
Greets
