Lg v50 not transfer fils by usb cable to pc - LG V50 ThinQ Questions & Answers

My lg v50 after update it to 12 wont accept connections withe laptops to transfer fils its only charging

Uninstall Sony Xperia drivers.
Do you have the latest LG drivers installed? After connecting the cable, change the connection method to "file transfer" in the USB settings.

Once the USB cable is connected, the USB icon should appear on the top bar and a menu for selecting the type of connection.
Maybe you have a faulty cable?

1.
When connected by cable, what do you see in the PC after the adb devices command?
2.
Turn off USB debugging and reconnect the cable, and check if the device manager shows LGE Mobile USB Composite Device in the universal serial bus tree.

Try blowing out the USB port on your phone with compressed air.
Check with a magnifying glass and a strong LED light that the contacts are not glued together.

But the problem ..this option sould every one can get it manually from devlopers option and should pop out when click on it

In general, it should not be the case that connecting the phone to the PC must require you to turn on anything, especially in the developer options.
The phone should respond to the current load on the USB socket and causes a mini window to appear with a choice of options.
You are left with the difficult decision of either restoring the factory settings or contacting LG support.
I don't see anyone joining this discussion, as perhaps the problem only affects a few people, including you.
I'm sorry I can't be of more help.

Zune cannot detect device [SOLVED]

I have tried reinstalling Zune, manually selecting drivers from Zune under Update Driver. But no affect.
Something else that I can try to solve this?
Check the USB port & cable first. Try to reboot PC (with power off) and connect handset to the different USB port.

Tried everything.
Have you tried to restart phone?
I had the same problem last night.
Fixed it by plugging in the USB cable to the actual motherboard. In other words, the back of the PC. Not a USB hub, or the front port USB on most computers, since those are not really connected to the motherboard (it is, but with wires/cables).
Worked perfect after that. I did re-install Zune and reboot my PC several times before I tried that.
Well the USB port is working fine, tested with other devices. Tried restarting the device as well as the PC, no affect.
It's kinda strange. Does your phone appears in the device manager? (you should see "Windows Phone USB Devices -> Windows Phone USB") Also, what the WPConnect.exe says?
P.S. Possibly your phone's USB connector is damaged; also, did you tried another USB cable?
It was detecting with a yellow "!" sign but then I added it manually.
What does these things mean or affect in the advanced settings of the device?
Port setting -> USB Switchng ->
QC Composite
MS Composite
Yellow "!" sign means your device isn't function properly, driver not started.
And I have no idea what are you asking about. Could you post a screenshot?
P.S. BTW, something wrong with your phone's USB connection: socket or cable. Did you tried another cable?
Hey, lamborg, did you resolve the issue? The good manners is (if you don't know that) at least inform people who's tried to help you.

This always works for me too. Usually my phone is detected/charges in the PC front ports, but in order for Zune to sync with the phone/Zune HD it must be plugged into directly into the USB ports on the motherboard. I have one of those early USB 3.0 PC chassis' and mobos...and which they usually have to be plugged into a 2.0 port too to sync.
Had the same problem a few days ago, had to uninstall the actual USB hub and reinstall it again on device manager. Actually, I uninstalled all USB ports, but luckily I still have one of those PS/2 mouse to reinstall those ports xD
Well the switching of mode of USB did worked.

[Issue] Please help, Nexus 5 not showing up at all in windows.

By this I mean, that it does not show up AT ALL, not even as a generic device with a yellow exclamation mark (which usually happens when there is a driver issue). I can't installed the driver obviously because device manager has no entry that matches my device. I tried all kinds of cables, and my friends Nexus 5, which works fine with the cable I am using with mine, somehow mine will *NOT* get detected by my computer at all. PLEASE HELP, I am unable to upload anything to it because of this issue.

Have you tried rebooting your phone and computer? Tried a different USB port?
ADB and fastboot have different device IDs, is the phone recognized when it's in fastboot mode (the bootloader)?

If you read any of the instructions for installing drivers, it asks you to go to the device manager and find the entry corresponding to your device so you can assign it the correct driver. However the device manager table does not change *at all* when I plug my phone.

It's not recognised at all in any mode, the device manager table does not change at all regardles of anything I do. In bootloader mode however, i get the "ping" noise that usually happens when a device is recognised as plugged in by windows, but nothing happens after that, I don't even have an entry in the device manager to correspond with it, all i get is "generic USB hub" entries.

Yea, tried that, still a no go.
I think possibly there could be a damaged USB pin. If other nexus 5 devices connect ok

It could be the wire
Hi,
Have you tried a different USB cable? I had the power still work and the data fail on a wire that my nexus 7 came with. A standard USB cable has 4 wires. 2 power wires ( 5v DC + and - ) and 2 data wires. Some USB cables are power only and they are missing the data wire pair so make sure your using a wire that supports data connections.

I think you're on the right track, only he has tried other cables and another Nexus 5 with success, so I think it's the same issue, but in the phone's USB socket.
It isn't software on the phone as he tried bootloader too. It *could* still be driver related, but unlikely I think. I suppose we need to try another computer

Sorry about that I must have been reading too fast.
One way to test the pins would be to use a USB-OTG with a flash drive or one of those cool flash drives that have a male micro-usb connection.
Sometimes its best to go for Wug's Root Toolkit v1.8.4 because it is very good at walking thru many driver options and such that cause problems.

Do you have any emulator software on your machine? I had similar issue when i was using Bluestacks - android emulator on Windows.

Connecting Pixel 3a to PC for file transfer.

I don't own any USB-C devices or cables at this time.
I am planning to buy Pixel 3a soon and would like to understand whether it comes with everything I need to connect it to my PC that is 6 years old and equipped with USB-3 Standard A connectors on motherboard. The objective is to transfer files in both directions.
From what I understand 3a comes with USB-C to USB-A adapter in the box. Does it mean I don't need anything extra to connect to PC to transfer files? That is it seems I would plug this adapter to motherboard, then USB-C cable to the adapter, then another end of USB-C cable to the phone. Is this correct?
And if I wanted one-cable solution then this is what I would want: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01E9W8KY...colid=DAYIUPLW7ZM8&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it, right?

You would need to get a cable like the one in your link to connect to PC.
The adapter it comes with allows you to connect a USB thumb drive to the phone.

But yea, a USB-A to USB-C cable is the easier option.

I don't have the 3a but I saw in one of the videos there is a setting in the phone that defines what to do when phone is connected to a computer. One is "Charge Only", another something like "File Transfer" (and I think there are others). Could it be that you have it set it to "Charge Only"?

It's likely one of three things.....
1) You haven't installed the latest ADB drivers (although this is unlikely if you had it working with this computer and another Pixel 3a).
2) As already noted, by default you have to manually change the connection type to "Data Transfer" anytime you plug your phone into a computer. When you plug the phone into the computer, you should see a new "Android System" notification on your phone. Open that notification and change the connection type from "Charge Only" to "Data Transfer".
3) To use ADB, you need to make sure you have turned on Developer Settings and turned on "USB Debugging" in the developer settings.
If all of these things are correct, then I would "Revoke USB debugging authorizations" in the developer settings and then plug the phone back into the computer. You will see a new authorization popup on the phone which you need to accept.

Not really. There's no such thing as a Type-A to Type-A USB cable in USB 2.0. You can probably find a cable with USB 2.0 connectors on both ends, but they violate the spec, and can't properly be called "USB." (there's lots of crap like that around) In USB 3.1, there's a very specialized one "defined for operating system debugging and other host-to-host connection applications."
The adapter included with Pixels is a USB "On-The-Go" one, it tells the phone act as a USB host (so it can connect to a thumb drive, keyboard, USB headset, etc.). Per the spec "This cable assembly is defined for direct connect to a USB device (e.g., a thumb drive). System functionality of using this adaptor assembly together with another USB cable assembly is not guaranteed." Having said that, Google does provide the adapter to allow the Pixel to connect to another Android phone using its A to micro-B "charging" cable in order to copy data when changing phones.
To have the phone appear as a drive on a PC, the PC is the host. You need a USB Type-A to Type-C cable to connect to the Pixel.

Turns out there was a heavy Windows update pending upon restart. The thing bugs me about them constantly so I usually ignore them. I restarted and let it do it's thing for 4 hours (damn Windows lol) and after it restarted the phone for file transfer, as well as adb started working correctly.

Can't connect to Windows 10 PC?

For some reason I can't connect my Pixel 4a to my PC with a USB C - USB A cable (or USB A - USB C, not sure what the official name is) , even though it worked fine on my previous phone.
Included with the phone is a USB C - USB A adapter, but I see no use for it unless you have a special USB A cable which I don't.
My motherboard does have a USB C slot on it and it does read my phone when I plug it in that way but for some weird reason it's really loose and doesn't stay connected unless I keep physical pressure on it.
I'm not going to update to Android 11 until the November update because I've heard the current build has a few bugs, but does anyone know if Android 11 fixed the USB C - USB A issue?
Have you made sure to switch to file transfer mode? It defaults to 'no transfer' mode when I plug into my laptop.
Most likely you need to toggle the phone connection settings to data transfer, originally it will be set to charge only I think.

I had this issue too. Windows file explorer would just crash after one or two files and stop transfer, no matter the size and type. (Yes I had file transfer selected on my phone ?)
Then windows update gave me a driver called "Google Inc. - Other Hardware - Kedacom KDB Composite Interface". I also updated to the newest firmware on the phone. No idea which of these did the trick or if it was the combo. However. Smooth sailing now ??
Hope this helps
(If windows update refuses to give you the driver, you can get it from Microsoft's update catalogue online. A Google search will do)
Ok it's completely messed up. When I search for USB settings it doesn't let me change anything at all, even though when I first got the phone I could and I changed it to transfer files. EDIT: No actually the setting that I changed was a developer option called "Default USB configuration" which I changed to transfer files but that still did nothing.
I just plugged in my phone and looked for the USB setting in the notification area but it wasn't there, but I noticed an option called "manage"
I went in there and noticed this. (see attachments) it's locked to be off and I can't change it. Very odd.

You're in notification settings. Try short tapping rather than long tapping to get the menu to pop up allowing you to select data transfer.
Changing default USB settings in developer options doesn't work for me either.

My point is that the notification that normally comes up when you plug in your phone to a computer to change to data transfer, charge only ect ect isn't even coming up because the firmware is stopping that notification from coming up altogether and I can't change it so it does.

Almost certainly a cable or host port issue. Swap cables and see what happens. Same for hosts/host ports. You're not going to have toggling options if the phone does not 'see' all expected lines/pins.
I had the same issue and changed to a different cord to fix the problem.
You have an non certified cable it seems, I've confirmed this pixel 4a works with only certain cables for usb transfer, also the usb a to c cable you have will not charge the device as well.
Get a cable from know manufacturers like Samsung, it worked for me.
Yeah turns out it was a cable. Strange how my cable worked with my old phone but not with the Pixel 4a
Had this issue with my new 4a just now. Cable was fine, even used the new cable that comes with it using a Usb C to Usb A adapter. Nothing worked. Upon opening Device Manager I found a new device called 'Kedacom USB Device'. After trying random things, I decided to uninstall the current drivers by right clicking on it and clicking 'Uninstall device'. Suddenly the phone connected, and even showed the adb prompt.
So for anyone still facing this issue, hopefully this solution might help

Can't get usb debugging working

Phone is rooted and on android 10 and xxxnolimits installed
I connected phone to pc and only charging. Tried 3 different cables, including official one and 3 different USB ports and not showing on pc. I can hear noise it's connected to pc but then another noise to disconnect
Usb debugging is enabled and default usb configuration I can change to file transfer, usb tethering , midi, ptp & no data transfer. I changed it to each of them still not showing
There is no option to choose mtb from drop down notification no notification is there
I rebooted phone and pc and cleared cache. Also i app settings allowed notifications.
I'm at the end of my tether trying to figure out what issue is as was working previously.
Now all its doing is charging
Any suggestions

Do you have the latest fastboot-adb platform tools installed? Just a thought.
Will check
However usb notification drop down not coming up on phone to change settings when I plug phone into port.

If I restore a backup would that be worth trying or does issue seems to be with usb port on phone?
