Hello. My phone model is oppo a5s cph 1909.It is almost 3 years old. It's display gives issues ( if I tap on a place, sometimes it taps at any other place. Sometimes it ghost touches and sometimes doesn't respond). It was on the drawers for a month because it's display was damaged.then recently it had been repaired. But after day of repairing I had seen the display problems mentioned above. Then I freed up phone space and ram by deleting some apps and the problem seems to be better at now though it is still present. So can anybody give some cures?
Thanks to all who read it and sorry for wrong English.

It sounds like a damaged or defective digitizer. Take your device back to the repair center; they should have given you a warranty on the repairs.

What is a digitizer? And after I had done what they told ( basically free up the space and make the phone lighter), the phone is now better. And can u give me any recommendations for making the phone faster without root or custom ROM? Thanks anyways.

The digitizer is the electronic part of the screen that detects touches.

Return phone to repair center and demand them to fix your screen issue: they obviously performed miserable service - you even have paid for?

Hi,
I'm not sure if there already is a thread about this problem, so sorry if there is
When I grabbed my Nexus 5 out my pocket, the screen didn´t work. It only shows pixels. I´ve tried to reset it to factory settings using a hard reset but that doesn´t work. It still only shows the pixels. I can´t send it back to LG for repair because I´ve changed the kernel and I can´t get a connection with my pc. Does anybody have any idea how to fix it?
Thanks in advance!
What do you mean by "can only see pixels" ?? Blurry lines?? Distortion?? If so, there's a possibility that the flex cable might have gone bad.. In any case, you need to send it in for repairs.

Yes I can only see blurry lines in different colours. But is it possible to repair it by replacing the screen + touch module?

May be, May be not. No one can know the extent of the damage without opening up the device.
You need professional help. So, it's either Google (if you've bought from play) or LG. There's nothing you can do here as the screen is completely useless. Just send it in and hope for the best.
If you want to backup your data, you could boot up the phone (if you can) and use adb to backup if you've enabled usb debugging. But that's about it..
Good luck!

Nexus 5 showing only pixels
Hi
Even I am facing the same issue. My nexus 5 is only 4 months old and from the past few days, display is not working consistently. It only shows pixels all over the screen and there is no image at all. Also, there is no physical damage to the phone at all. Although It just fell once recently on its back from a chairs height but it already had a strong spigen slim armor case that provides pretty good protection so i dont think that fall could have caused any internal damage.
A few days after this and after i upgraded to 5.1, I first started to see the screen hanging and then suddenly when i tried to restart, it started showing pixels all over the screen. A few times when i press power button multiple times, then sometimes (say 1 out of 20 times or even less) ,home screen appears but even then it does not work. I am very frustrated with the problem and not sure what could be the issue. Could you please let me know what could be the problem. I have shown it to some repair shops but it looks like they are just looking to grab money and they simply tell me that they can replace display.
So i thought its better to post it here in xda to get feedback on this. Please can you let me know what could be problem, is it hardware or software issue and how it could be resolved. Please help me urgently as I am not able to use the phone.
Thanks.
i have updated my moto g to 4.4.4 few days ago but yesterday night while traveling i was low on power so i swiched off my cell when next day i switched it back on there is a fine line running vertically on my screen, it is barely visible but on white screen u can see it.
i tried steps sugested by customer care for wiping cache partition but nothing works.
Can anyone help me out with this issue?
i also have a black line from top to bottom that is 1 pixel wide. i checked and it is not a software problem,
i dont have warranty so is there anything i can do ?

Seems to be a screen failure... send it to warranty if you still can.

Not much can be done, you could try to get a new screen and substitute it. Hardware failure is impossible to fix...
Is this problem universal with moto g?
Sorry i have failed to mention this
but my phone is still under its warranty, i bought it this april,2014.
so any idea what budget will i be looking at if its a hardware failure and my screen gets replaced?
My friend also have same problem so you think its is a universal issue with moto g display?

Then use your warranty, it's free to get your phone repaired under warranty.
Otherwise the screen with the digitizer costs about 30-35 usd from China and it's needs glue to be assembled back tougher ( and some knowledge ofc ).

my screen is the same. i was a bit more lucky and the line is 0.3cm away from the edge and not in the middle of the screen like yours.
i have 2 problems:
- i am from slovenia and i bought moto g from tesco through a company that gave me fake british id.
- i am rooted so i dont know if i still am under warranty.
can i take my moto g to nearest motorola repair shop and use my warranty?
Rooting voids warranty
the warranty is void as soon as you root your phone
and i have called up motorola customer services and they said that display and other hardwares are not included in warranty but still they might be able to help if they can have a look at the set
Hello XDA,
My Nexus 5 running CM12 5.0.2 nightly will not respond to the touches anymore infact when I press the power button to activate the display it acts as if someone is touching it randomly messing all the apps that are running and opening and closing many other things.
Furthermore it displays weird and burned lines throughout the screen. It was not dropped, no water went inside the device or anything. If it helps I did install the OTA updates that CM gives us.
I have also attached pictures so you may get a better understanding of my problem.
Thanks in advance.

Hmm I see. Well since a month HAS passed, its definetly not the rom thats causing the problem, i don't know if anything regarding the software could even be causing the problem. Its 100% hardware and by that i mean the screen, you should change it, the touch and also the display are messed up.

I hate to be the bringer of bad news - but your screen is toast. Fortunately you can replace the touch and display components all at once.
http://www.amazon.com/Skiliwah-Digitizer-Assembly-Google-nexus5/dp/B00HN0U168
Here is what you need to perform the repairs - and here are the procedures for disassembly.
https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Disassembling+Nexus+5+Display+Teardown+-+liquid+damage/32410
Trust me, it's not that difficult. Unfortunately, it's a bit pricey ($60 for the screen and digitizer), nevertheless much cheaper than a new device or sending your device in for repairs.

Problem Solved
The screen isn't toast, neither is the digitizer. I have 2 of these phones. The parts which cause problems like this are the main board and the ribbon with the USB connector on it, which also attaches the screen & digitizer to the main board. One was showing lines exactly like this, & also no touch. I put a replacement main board in. Works great now. The other, wouldn't even turn on. I put the main board from the first phone in the second one, it still wouldn't turn on. I replaced the ribbon cable, it turns on and perfectly replicates the issue from the first phone. So now, I have one fully functioning LG Nexus 5, and another which turns on with the same problem as yours. This is good, I started out with 2 of them that were useless to me. So, it appears that your display and touch issues are caused solely by a bad main board. A replacement main board costs somewhere around $75. After swapping stuff around, I have 2 bad main boards, 1 bad USB ribbon & 1 working phone of 2. Not bad, not bad at all.
Hello, yesterday I received my phone. For the first hour it was working fine. But later, when I locked the phone I couldn't enter my password or shut down because phone started touching random things by itself. Did a factory reset but after that I can't even setup the phone because it doing random things by itself. Tried to discharge the phone and leave it overnight. But the next day it was the same story. I even peeled of screen protector but no luck. I think it's not system related issue, might be that I got the faulty one with bad touchscreen? Has anyone had this issue?
Mine doesn't has any touch issues. Seems a manufacturing defect, better off exchanging/returning it.

The problem is that I bought it overseas and returning it back would take very long because of the corona I"m wondering what's the problem could be, touchscreen or something more serious like motherboard. If it only screen I might change it by myself
Return it under warranty. The second you open it that is gone and if the problem persists, then you are screwed...
Not only have you lost the purchase price of the phone but the cost of the replacement screen too which generally aren't cheap...

from where is your phone region? it can happen from many possibilities. maybe from the kernel. You can try to flash using miflash according to the firmware region.
or try to enter stock recovery, is it random touch or not. (vol + & power)
new phone is still a warranty, it's good to go to a xiaomi service center
My case was, when the phone was brand new power button was stucked . But after using it few times, everything was fine. It didn't happen again

In my case it was faulty digitizer, after replacament everything is fine. I bought it overseas so no international warranty, but seller refunded me half the price. I went for the screen replacment and after that everything works fine.
So the sad sad day came when my niece dropped by my house, jumped on the couch, and broke my phone. No physical damage was down upon first glance, but as soon as I assessed I realized the LCD won't respond.
Phone was still on, and even functioned like normal, touch screen even worked. I could blindly answer calls. However, no display.
Took it to one of my tech savvy phone repair guys. Said it requires a new LCD. Cost me $400 bucks, and a month and a half of waiting for the part to arrive in Canada.
Arrived today, and my tech calls to say, with the replaced screen still no screen.
He reinstalled twice and checked all connections.
Any ideas or am I simply put SOL?

Yes, it is an original part, and includes the frame.
Both parts don't show a screen but turn on and function perfectly.

Several hypotheses:
The new part is defective (rare, but it happens).
Damage to a component during disassembly/assembly.
Other faulty components.
In this video, replacing the screen requires time and material.

Thanks for the suggestions. Yes I also figured there is some damage to other components, not due to installation because the symptoms are the same. Maybe due to it bending when she stepped on the phone. Oddly enough there's no physical damage.
The YouTube video there uses the same frame. That's a very tough fix. This came with screen and assembly. None of that work was necessary.
Of course, but personally given the price of the parts on this phone, I would have had an estimate made beforehand in an approved Xiaomi center.
I had the same case with an Honor, I replaced the screen for nothing, but given the price of the phone, direct trash.

Annoying indeed, the guy who changed the screen can't diagnose the problem?
Suppose the motherboard is the failure, screen + motherboard = not far from the price of the phone + labor?

I think it's a hardware issue or thermal issue idk, but mine has been blacking out lately and if I reboot to fastboot sometimes it starts working again, I tried the heating the battery up to no avail. I am also getting glitches on the screen like when you overclock the gpu too much so I think it's the gpu drivers/chipset and something with the power/transmission

Exactly. Too much cost. Also it's not exactly the whole motherboard as the phone is fully functional outside of the one issue that the screen is black. It's got to be a chipset defect.

Can't be thanks for mine as it's stable, and stays on. Thermally it would shut off the phone when overheating. Drivers/chipset is what I'm guessing also.
