Any info on XDA regarding Leia inc Lume Pad LPD-10W - General Questions and Answers

Disclaimer: I searched the forums using LumePad, Lume, Lume Pad, Leia, and LPD-10W and got zero search results.
Does anyone know if there's any development or info on what's been tried for development on the Leia Lume Pad?
It's an 11" 3D lightfield tablet with a snapdragon 845, 8gb, 128gb.
I purchase one for relatively cheap during Amazon prime day for something to replace my Nexus 7. It's been a nice tablet so far, but it's stuck on Android 10 and my Nexus 7 running lineage 17 is somewhat limited on what it can do... Because it's a 10-year-old tablet.
If anyone has any suggestions on where to find information and if there's been any development started on this tablet, that would be nice. Getting something like lineage 19 or 20 would be fantastic.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Am wanting to root it wondering if it could be possible

Android tablets and support/customization?

At first I was in love with the iPad but now I've began thinking to go a much different route for a tablet..
after searching for android tablets I ran across two that caught my eye, one on ebay the sungworld 7in tablet and the Haleron iLet mini...
both feature similar hardware specs (same screen size, resolution, CPU speed, memory, price, etc). the main difference from what I can tell (aside from aesthetics) is the sungworld model looks like its running standard android 1.6 with gapps, whereas the ilet is running android with some UI.
does anyone have any input on how customizable these devices are? any chance of custom roms or app2sd or at least gapps on the iLet..would porting a version of 2.1 be considered impossible or at least not probable?
I love the idea of a cheap android tablet and would appreciate any input on this!
thanks in advance..

Have you looked at the enTourage eDGe?
I just saw your post on the other tablet thread..I'm not really a fan of the design, its very strange. Plus i already have a netbook, so I'm in the market for a tablet now..
Check out enso-now.com for the zenPad..its a pretty cool 5'' android tablet starting at $155!

I Need Tablet Help!

Hey guys,
I first wanted to say, I have heard nothing but great things about this site and the people of these forums. That’s what brought me here today!
About two weeks ago I bought a Nook Tablet. I didn’t really want a full tablet because of the price and only wanted to do a few things with it. After playing around with it for several hours I realized that I had to pay for apps I got free on my phone, I was able to sideload a few apps but didn’t block automatic updates so now my Nook is running 1.4.1 or whatever it is, so now I have to use the Nook app store.
So this leads me to my real question. What is a good android tablet I can watch Netflix, play some basic games ( Angry Bird, Farm Story, etc ) , read books using ( nook and kindle apps ) and have the ability to play around and not be so limited.
I was looking at the Samsung - Galaxy Tab 8.9 and the Samsung - Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus.
Are these two good tablets? Sadly I haven’t had a chance to play around with them in person yet and only have until tomorrow to return my Nook. I was very happy with the speed of the Nook Tablet so if these are just as fast or faster then ill be happy. Please help me out guys, I’m open to other tablets etc. I’m just looking to keep it under $400 if possible.
Thanks you so much guys,
Glen

You could root your nook tablet then you would get the android market.

I have the Acer iconia a500 tablet and it is great. It can do movies and apps like Netflix great. Plus plenty of games.. and books.
Also you can get them for around 330$
I would also suggest rooting your nook to allow for the android market.

Samsung 7.0+ is the best 7 inch tablet avlible.
Kindle fire is great for a lot of stuff, and crazy cheap, but isnt really android, its just Android based. Still, if it fits your needs its great.
Cheapest full android (honeycomb) 7" tablet is the Acer a100
Good facts, and straight to the point. If I could thank you on the app I would..

HP TouchPad is a 10" tablet that will run CM7 and dual boot webOS. It ships with webOS. ICS is almost ready, just tying up loose ends I guess. They run ~$220 on eBay and online classifieds. 1.2Ghz dual core, 1GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage. Check out the TouchPad forum, very active. The TouchPad has sold more than any other tablet, except the iPad. They have been discontinued, but there is a huge user and dev base, so they are far from dead.

just want to point out, HP touchpad is a 9" tab.
and if you want cheap, you may want to look at the Archos 70b full android honeycomb (soon to be ICS) including front facing camera and android market for $199
Vizio Tablet..
Has anyone found a way to root this tablet after the 1.5 update? Or knows how to downgrade it so i can root it.. Thanks
At the opposite end of the spectrum, what is the best, most powerful, most beautiful Tab out there, or to be released soon? I got a B-Day in April and want my wife to get me one, I am drawn towards the Galaxy, and have the SII as a phone, but would love to see the communities opinions...
the trasformer prime 2.0 <3
best by far.

My first tablet

Hello,
I am considering buying my first tablet. I believe I would like it to be based on Android, as I like full customisation and I don't like having to use itunes to accomplish almost anything.
My quick research shows that the main players (highest quality producers) seem to be:
->Samsung
->Asus
... and the most advanced device planned for 2012 is Asus Transformer Pad Infinity.
I have a few general questions:
1) Am I correct in the aforementioned observations (i.e. any other important producers, any other more advanced android tablets?)
2) I currently live in US but I am moving to UK in October. Hardware is usually cheaper in the US than Europe. Question: will I have any problems with warranty or usage (any relevant regional locks etc.) if I make the purchase in the US?
3)What is the general stability and performance of Android vis-a-vis other OS? More specifically: smoothness of operation, wifi, browsing, crashing etc.?
4)I have read somewhere on this forum that Asus Transformer Prime had some issues with screen cracking. Would you recommend therefore skipping Asus and entrusting some other producer?
5)If you were to buy your first and only tablet now (/in the coming months)... what would be your choice?
Thank you for your help and opinion! Any comments highly appreciated!
Best,
Theriel
Wait for the nexus tablet. Around 200 dollars, tegra quad core, pure Android with regular updates straight from google. Should be out next month!

1.You are correct in observation.
2.Get your tablet unlocked,it's cheaper than roaming.
3.excellent wifi,excellent browsers,super smooth if it's high end as you're planning.
4.Asus are great, long long battery, people are just clumsy.
5.I'd buy a Huawei Mediapad 10 FHD or the New Asus

Thank you for the replies!
Nexus tablet might be interesting, but its 7 inch screen is too small for my needs.
I am looking forward to hearing more of your recommendations on what to buy! If you have any further comments - please share them!
Best,
Theriel
You could also consider a Samsung tablet.
The Plus models are excellent value, especially the 10.1 inch. Sounds big,but its actually same screen size as an iPad,only the thinness lies to the eyes. If money is still tight look at the Acer tablet. And finally Lenovo wrap up my top 5.

[7.0] Still worth buying ?

Hi everyone,
I'm actually looking for a 7 inch tablet to have a real portable device aside my Transformer. I was surfing the web a bit to find one and I was surprised to see that there are very few 7 inch tablets out there
The Nexus 7 will not be available in my country before october et november and the Iconia A110 will not be sold here at all...
So my question is : Is it still worth buying a gtab 2.0 ? I can have one for 259 € (16Gb Wifi only) at my reseller but I'm wondering if it will fit my needs... ? Mostly web browsing, ebooks reading, music and a bit of gaming (android games and emulators).
Is it comfortable to read on it with the 1024*600 resolution ? Is the browsing experience good enough ?
Thanks in advance for your advices

Yep, will do all those things without any problems I installed the firefox nightly and its pretty decent for web browsing. Read a few books on it and I dont personally have any issues with it at all.
If you cant hold out till the Nexus 7 then this is probably your best bet. Although honestly for your needs, might be worth holding out for it.
I use Moon+ for ereading and Chrome for the browser. Love it.

The only place you may have issues is that some games aren't compatible with the device stock. I use it for reading, web browsing, and twitter, and have no issues at all with any of them.
So far I'm finding the tap 2 7" fits my needs just fine. Still seams like a good buy for the price.

for sure go for it.it is handy.browsing is smooth use firefox or chrome.ebook reading will also be a good experience use quickoffice, moon reader, ezreader or polaris.
And even the games like shadowgun works like charm so your 3rd criteria is also staisfied so go for it...
I agree with them too.It is a very nice little tab,of course there will be better, like anything else in life. I find it pretty complete, and like Droidlover123 is saying very useful, though it comes with a spotty wifi for some of us,but I also recommend it.
Go ahead and get this baby, besides that microsd cards are dirt cheap so you can upgrade in a heartbeat. You will have everything in one spot. :good:
Thank you all for your advices :good:
I am still hesitating as I just saw some Nexus 7 tablets for sale on ebay for 300$...
Big dilemma
Up to you I'm not sorry I got the SGT2_7. It's fast n smooth once you root and uninstall the bloatware.

Same. Guy at best buy also told me that the nexus 7 only does portrait mode. Not sure if that's true or not

The reason i have not updated yet. May update then when im home go to cm9
I think I am getting used to it,I updated and it is smoother and snappier now.As for the wifi I am having the same glitches I had before and not everyday.
One more thing, since I purchased the case it seems to work better because I don't cover with my hand as much as I used to,so at this point I would recommend the purchase and the update.Love this baby.

Can the Asus Zenpad be used for Android Development?

Hi, I am looking at getting an ASUS 10.1" ZenPad 10 Z300M 16GB Tablet, but I read a review on BHPhoto that said you have to use "sharelink" to move files around. That made me afraid I'd need something proprietary for development. In the past, I've only had to enable a developer or debug mode and upload the application.
Can *any* Android tablet be used for development?
Does anyone know about the Asus Z300M?
Thanks. I like the Samsung, but they are expensive, so this one seemed good. It had Marshmallow and was cheaper.
