Zenfone 7 pro stuck in Qualcomm Crashdump loop after successful display replacement - ASUS ZenFone 7 / 7 Pro Questions & Answers

This started happening to me after changing a broken display. I get the asus logo, then the android one, then Qualcomm crashdump for less than a second then it repeats a few loops then shuts down.
I can put the device into fastboot mode by holding volume up + power but plugging a cable into it makes the screen flash and shut down and it does not get recognised by the PC. It also makes the phone heat up if left connected for a long time.
I tried making an EDL cable and putting the phone into EDL mode, but even that doesn't seem to work and the phone still isn't recognised.
When the phone is connected with a usb cable, no button combination will make it wake up.
Please help!

can not boot

One day I went to use my tablet after a long time not using it. It was on the stock OS. And it stops at the Asus screen with the spinning circle I know sometimes this might take awhile so I let it sit for 24 hours and it still is there. I tried cold boot and reset to default and also the recovery image. With the recovery image I get a dead droid with a red ! above him. When I plug it into my computer I hear my computer detect it but I can't access it.
Guessing the OS is corrupted. Bring it back to stock again using easyflasher. You will lose all data by doing this.
You need to be in apx mode to use easyflasher. Press power and volume up for a few seconds and connect to PC. Your tablet should be recognized however the screen will stay black. Then you can use easyflasher. Good luck! Also, try to never allow the battery to go completely flat. If you will not be using it for a while power off.

it is not letting me go into apx mode. When I try turning it off it restarts and goes to the boot screen and freezes there. Is the recovery image on the SD card? I can get to the recovery so I might just put the stock zip on it and try it.
I just tried updating it and I keep getting the same dead droid and it keeps rebooting when I try to power it off so I cant enter apx
Try holding POWER and VOL UP and it should enter APX even if it isn't off first.
No matter what I try and how many times I try when I push the power button it just restarts. if I hold the Power and Volume up it restarts and sticks at the Asus screen. In the Device Manager for a description for the tablet it says "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"
I had that error and it was a bad USB cable. My cable still worked with the stock charger, just not for USB (MTP/APX/ADB)
I do have 2 cables and last time I used then both did work so I know that is not a part of my problem.
You won't see anything in APX mode and may think the device is powered off. So connect it to your computer first, then try to go in APX. You should hear the computer detect the device.

I know how to get into apx mode. I have used it several times before but it will not let me. No matter what I try it keeps rebooting.

Does it still reboot when you try entering APX mode if the USB cable is disconnected from the tablet ?

yes it reboots if it is hooked to the computer or all by itself. If I try to enter apx by itself or hooked to the computer it still reboots.
If I can't get into apx does that mean that I have a brick?

Possibly, or your power / volume buttons aren't working properly / getting stuck pressed in
Might be worth taking it apart and disconnecting the battery for a while / checking buttons are working without the plastic bezel over the top of them
Check no cables have come loose causing weird behaviour

I opened it up cleaned the buttons unplugged the battery and looked for loose cables. Plugged the battery back in and rechecked for loose cables. I tried going into APX and that is a no go. I have not reassembled the unit back together yet.
So what should I do next?
I got it fixed!
I unplugged the battery plugged it back in, did a cold boot then enter apx mode

Must have been some weird bug in memory that was being kept alive by the battery

[Q] Bricked or hardware damage? OPO not turning on

Hello OPO-owners.
I need some help. My OPO won't turn on. When i press power nothing happens. When i plug it in it vibrates one time, the screen turns on staying black (only backlight) then the screen turns a bit brighter but still black. Then the screen turns off and it starts from the beginning with one vibrate.
Booting into recovery with power + VolDown -> nothing happens
Booting into fastboot with power + VolUp -> nothing happens
power cycle - holding power 20 sec 5 times like suggested on oneplus HP -> nothing happens
holding power for a minute or more -> nothing happens
what i can do is boot into Qualcomm HS-USB QDloader 9008 by holding VolUp and plug into pc. From there i tried the unbrick method with color.zip. Msm8974downloadtool flashed the first two files then changed divice into HS-USB Diagnostics 9006 as it should and started flashing the partitions. But somehow my OPO keeps disconnecting in that 9006 state every 8-10 seconds so that the flashing keeps starting from beginning. then tried different flash tools found on androidbrick.com and finally managed to get it back to where it was by editing rawprogrammer64.xml to only flash partition table and recovery, rpm, tz, sbl1 and emmc_appsboot.
So now i'm right there where i started.
What came to my mind is, maybe there is something wrong with power button. As holding and pressing seems to do nothing. So when i try to boot into fastboot with power + VolUp and plug it in i end up in QDloader 9008 mode which should normally only happen when you just hold VolUp and plug in. Also something wrong with power button could also be the reason why it kept disconnecting in Diagnostics 9006 mode.
Has anyone ever experienced something similiar?
I'm gonna upload a video to show you what my OPO is doing when i plug into charger or pc.
After charging it for 24 hours I'm still where i started only that the screen is not black anymore but showing some stripes from top to bottom.
i keep on charging.

R7F cant even boot (enough battery, was trying to boot into recovery mode)

Hi I need help urgently. I wanted to boot my phone into recovery mode so i after i switched the phone off, i pressed the power button + volume up. My phone was connected to pc all along. problem is, i removed both my fingers off the power and volume up the moment i saw the "OPPO" boot logo, and realizing that the screen is blank, i removed the power cable connecting my phone to the pc. Now, my r7f refuses to boot.
Weird thing is when i connect my phone to the pc, sometimes the pc recognizes an unknown device thats "malfunctioned". This is called 'bricked'? How do i solve this?
I cant even switch on my phone or remove the battery due to its built-in battery. had 70+% battery at the point of occurence.
My R7f goes into the fastboot mode when i hold the power and volume+ . I usually enter to the recovery mode by holding the power and volume -
You have to hold the buttons for more than 2-3 seconds even the boot logo is shown keep holding them.

Honor 6 H60-L04 doesn't boot, only vibrates shortly without booting, is it bricked?

Hello there!
I tried to replace the battery of my phone with another one, but the phone doesn't boot up at all.
Shortly after I switched the battery, I managed to boot the phone: the HUAWEI writing showed up and then the phone shut down.
The red led was blinking while charging and other tentatives of boot-up failed with only a vibration shot and nothing more, with the screen still black.
Just out of curiosity, I tried to go to fastboot mode (by holding DOWN volume and plugging the USB cable on pc) and surprisingly enough the "plug in" Windows sound played but the phone remained pitch black.
The curious thing is that if I type
Code:
fastboot devices
It shows a number and the writing "fastboot" so I guess that the phone is recognized by the pc.
Is it bricked or something?
Or maybe the battery was faulty and ruined the motherboard?
Or maybe it is just the screen broken...
I don't really know how to proceed.

Oneplus 8T bricked after dying last night

Was watching youtube videos last night before my phone died, now I can't get it to start boot into the OS. Not sure if this is relevant but my power button had been a little finnicky- rather maybe not the power button itself because it doesn't feel stuck or anything at all but I noticed that it would take an extra second or two after pressing the power button to get into my lock screen. I never really paid attention because it only happened once in a while and I would just restart my phone and be done with it. However I can't even get into the lock screen or anything now.
After my phone died last night I plugged it in right away and came back a while later to turn it on. I tried turning it on but noticed my phone just kept rebooting. It's still repeatedly rebooting and I can only get in the fastboot menu by holding down both volume buttons when rebooting. I get the options power off- which just reboots it after a while, start - which just reboots the phone, restart boot loader- which literally takes me back to the same menu, recovery mode- just reboots and show barcode which shows the barcode at the bottom of the menu.
I've tried downloading the qualcomm driver and trying to get into EDL mode but don't see it on my pc or msmtool, i'm also not even sure if i'm trying to get into EDL mode correctly. I've tried disable Driver signature Enforcement and then redownloading the qualcomm driver but still no luck. I don't know what else I should try. Someone please help me out, i'm pissed this happened just because my phone died, about to have ptsd whenever my phone is at 5% fml.
Also after seeing the 1+ logo and powered by android on the bottom, sometimes I would see like a line of color, which I would assume is text not being rendered all the way, fade out and then the phone shuts down and reboots itself.

Which OOS build are you on? And your device is unlocked or not?
Getting into EDL mode is tricky. Power off device completely. With the device powered off, hold down volume up and volume up at the same time, keep them pressed all the time, and during that time plug into PC (phone all the time powered off). Still hold both of the buttons. By the time you plug into PC, you should be in EDL mode, BUT it only lasts about 10 seconds. I mean you have to click start in this 10 seconds time bracket, other way phone exits EDL itself. After you click start, you can release button, obviously
