Has anyone tried to install AOSP from this site?
Is it worth to try?
Any downsides? Does everything work?

I have been compiling the cm7 source and sharing. Gapps and rom boots and work. It is more basic gingerbread aosp then cm7. Cyanogen and teamdouche have been working to get this together and this is more kinda like a nightly

You will need to flash the new recovery.img to flash/get working gapps.
after flashing gapps, run fix permissions to get gapps to work.
This is cause of cm7 going to ext4 based system unlike older roms that are ext3
The new recovery does make it so you can not use older pre gingerbread roms so find a older recovery to fastboot back to anything like froyo or restore old backups

The gapps are posted on on that link also not built in, building in causes bootloops. Don't have any clue when it will be in rom manager, the one uploaded is the recovery.img built with the source

I don't have a desire hd so I can not confirm what is or isn't working

Its slightly more advanced along in development than the other version. ADW is now the default launcher. Haven't noticed any difference apart from that.

I am running the newest firmware, and have the performance pack, and when
I try and add a widget to the home screen it doesn't work. There seems to
be an updated widget selector with more widgets, but I can't get any to
work. Does anyone else have this issue, and is there a fix if so??

No because I am not using a rom. I am on the newest stock firmware plus the performance pack.
Sorry I don't know what to tell you. I'd do a wipe and flash again.
I'm running TNT lite v4.2 and have no issues with widgets.

Well I found out the issue. Seems it was the Android 2.2 settings that I installed
so I could use different keyboards. I rolled back to the TnT settings, and now
it's working. I just wish I knew how to get a different keyboard working again
though

you need to determine if it's your hardware or the firmware you are running.
when in doubt, flash back to gb or froyo stock. test the camera. if it works in stock gb or froyo, and doesn't in ics or jb, chances are, you are doing something wrong.
rule of thumb: if it's working for everyone else, you need to determine what you are not doing correctly
Does anyone know if substratum will work with our device? I know it says it might not work with phones that are not stock Android but was wondering if anyone have tried it?
Substratum seems to not work with TouchWiz, it hasn't bricked my device, but it will not theme anything.
Substratum only works on stock android... They mentioned this and assumed it'd be obvious to those running TouchWiz roms.
It doesn't work on my stock 7.0 android.
Sent from my SM-G930T using XDA-Developers Legacy app
To clarify, Substratum only works on certain Galaxy S7 ROMs e.g. Ressurection Remix and Zephiyr but not all ROMs, stock or otherwise.

You can try these steps (although they are for the note 5)

I don't have an S7 and haven't tested it personally.

Thanks in advance
