Does anyone know if substratum will work with our device? I know it says it might not work with phones that are not stock Android but was wondering if anyone have tried it?
Substratum seems to not work with TouchWiz, it hasn't bricked my device, but it will not theme anything.
Substratum only works on stock android... They mentioned this and assumed it'd be obvious to those running TouchWiz roms.
It doesn't work on my stock 7.0 android.

To clarify, Substratum only works on certain Galaxy S7 ROMs e.g. Ressurection Remix and Zephiyr but not all ROMs, stock or otherwise.

You can try these steps (although they are for the note 5)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/note5/general/substratum-touchwiz-t3608588
I don't have an S7 and haven't tested it personally.

Hi, I tried the XDA Assist board and was redirected here so I was wondering if anyone here knows how to modify the Battery Animation in the Powered Off State, currently on my current ROM (BrokenOS 1.4 Official 4.4.4) the animation is gone and is just a static image so I'm unable to tell if the battery is charging/battery level.
I found the stock images in the res/images/charger and that's not at all what I currently have with this ROM and I'm unable to find the ones I do have. Is this a glitch on my part and if so how do I fix this, I really like charging my phone while off so that it can rest.
Below is the image of what I currently have,it just looks like a fat cigarette too me which urks me...

Device Info (Incase it Helps)
Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 - BrokenOS 1.4 (Official 4.4.4) - BMS (Kernel) - SuperSU 2.3.7 Pro - TWRP 2.8.1.0
Anyone have a idea of what direction to go in to resolve my problem?
I still haven't figured a solution to this,anyone?.. any enlightenment on this?

That would be a bug issue with the rom. Have you tried using rom toolbox pro? That's of course if you have it... It's been known to work with RTP

I do have ROM Toolbox Pro, I use to use it but I stopped using it since I mainly just used (at the time) for Restart System UI on my previous phone. Is something in RTP that would fix the issue?

Alright, well I just flashed my previous ROM I was using (BlissStalk) alongside all my other things I would flash and it works, so I'll try flashing the ROM (BrokenOS,what I was using) standalone and see if it reoccurs. Might switch ROMs if it really is the ROM,there was features in BlissStalk that BrokenOS doesn't have. (Power Widget for one, I had just learnt to dealt with the Toggles and use Quick Pulldown)

Talked further in PM and resolved my problem. Thanks to ShapesBlue for the assistance..
Might try BrokenOS again when/if they update, sticking to BlissStalk for now.
Besides Echoe ROM, what other ROMs have you been able to flash to the Galaxy S7?
I'm asking because I've had at least 2 ROMS flashed via FlashFire that simply have not worked, or have been unable to install after following OP's instructions.
Echoe ROM is nice, but would like to try something else - your feedback is appreciated!

There's a stock debloated rom , but that's about it.There really isn't much development for this device...
There should be a bit more development. Perhaps some have flashed even though the ROM is not promoted for the T-Mobile S7.

How about downgrading firmware? I would like to go back to PB5 or lower. I'm on PIA.....
I was able to use the the stang5litre Edition 5.0 ROM. You do have to CHANGE the APN settings from Verizon to T-Mobile to enable calls, but that's about it. Currently playing with it now.
please dont yell at me....
Are there any nougat roms that can work with the T-mobile Note 5? All the ones I have tried dont have DATA or VOICE working on them.
Am I missing something?
o_o
zero ROMs ?
I'm having the same issue. None of the ROMs I've tried have worked. Best hope at this point is to just wait for the official release and root that.
Nemesis is out with N920W8 and T variant support.

I am still having problems with call audio on my 920t version.. everything else is awesome is there a fix?
Have you tried the flashable fix that's roaming around? I forget the specific thread, but there is a flashable file we used to make the ported ROMs of other phones work on ours.
HOWEVER, this was for MM roms. Nougat, as far as I understand, will not work for us because we do not have the kernel.
There is another fix in the nemesis thread OP and I can confirm that call audio is working perfectly on my N920W8.
The tmobile note5 has a special audio chip compared to other variants, requiring a special driver. Probably won't see much until official sources for nougat drop. There are two rays of hope, both are devs working on lineage os based roms, but neither has released a build yet. One will never release here, and one might one day. I think most people on XDA anyway will be waiting for april and samsungs release.

@fdogic, Works as is, without any modifications on our part?
I didn't look into anymore Nougat ROMs after I read about lack of source.

I installed the Nemesis rom and noticed that the Gear S3 Frontier and Gear Manager does not have Samsung Pay on it, nor can I install it through store or galaxy apps or anything. Maybe its a nougat issue? I am going back to marmallow because of this.

If you use the Nemesis ROM, it works fine with the kernel he's using in there (maybe its the stock one i haven't checked), just make sure to select the TMO (Tmobile US) csc and all that in the aroma installer in twrp. Also make sure to do a full factory wipe and wipe dalvik cache data and system in advanced wipe before installing. Only thing I noticed that doesn't work is samsung pay in the gear manager if you use that, otherwise it seemed to be pretty snappy and stable.
I am using Nemesis as well, and while it's usable as a daily driver, I have found it to be a little flaky with some apps and the wifi seems to struggle, at work it is constantly reconnecting to the wifi. Of course at work we are using wep with mostly 802.11b so it's not exactly the most up to date wifi network. My Credit union doesn't support any pay options so I don't use any of that.
After Echoe stating they would not support S9's, one of the developers bought one - and an Echoe deodexed TW has appeared. Following that, Ael custom kernels also did. The first odexed ROM came out July 3, and now is in deodexed 3rd version, as is the kernel.
Over here, we have some good stock only based TW (aka Samsung Experience) ROMs, but the only one (RENOVATE ICE) is not currently supported. But this one is being aggressively developed, with more modifications to come. It is currently based on BRF8.
It instructs doing a pretty complete wipe, but as I was on an XDA BRF8, I only wiped system and caches and then flashed it - came right up. So far, I have not had any occasional reboots (which I had on the other ROMs I had tried and were using).
So if you want to try something different - go to their website and check it out. You have to be a member to access it, but for $10 - its worth it.
For Echoe haters - forgetaboutit.

It is a custom rom based on latest Samsung update, but it is deodexed, so allows it to have many mods.
If you are just starting, I would recommend starting here for awhile. After trying a few ROMs here, then take a look at Echoe.

Hey,
thanks for your advice!
im actually quite familiar with the custom roms world (owned OP3 before) so i just wanned to know if it worth the hassle of unlocking the BL and rooting.
Now there is a N9 port coming along right here - It is already deodexed (but not available yet - being tested) May give v2 a try - read the thread.

I use treskmod on Verizon. https://treskmod.ru/ It's omni with a pixel theme, extremely stable. 90hz and everything works perfectly. Just be sure to follow the omni flashing instructions.
