Since I installed the final version of Android 13, going through the 5 betas, the Mac does not recognize my mobile. The mobile is charging (that is, well connected) but there is no way for Android File Transfer to recognize it, choose the usb connection you choose.
Has it happened to anyone else?
How have you solved it?
Any alternative to transfer files?
up?

hey XDAs
received my omnia 7 on last friday and it´s everything i could´ve asked for!
but now i got a little problem...
at first, some facts: i´m on a macbook pro and i use the windows phone 7 connector (tried win 7 and zune via boot camp, too).
i tried to unlock with 2 different trys, a) with chevron and b) with some dialer code to get in the "diagnosis" menu........both tries failed!
but after b) i got a new "diagnosis" tile in my apps menu
now i have the problem, that my pc can´t recognize the phone anymore...win 7 and zune say "no phone connected" and the wp7 connector (mac) doesn´t do anything (should start automatically, when phone is plugged in) but i get a "new network device found" message where i need to configure the new device.
(in addition, i THINK that my phone doesn´t even load the battery through the usb port, so maybe my cable is broken?)
maybe i can´t connect my phone because of the "diagnosis" menu?? and how can i remove this app??? maybe i should do a factory reset?
so what´s the problem here??? even if i can´t do the unlock, it sucks not being able to put music, videos or even updates on my omnia ;(
really nobody?
I don't know anything about using Macs with a WP7, but on windows, you need yo make sure you have the latest Zune. Also, if you have hacked to allow tethering, you have also turned off the Zune sync function.
Sent from my SGH-i917 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App

The problem is you aren't actually running windows, it's still a virtual system. The USB controls are still through your mac. You will not be able to connect your win7 phone to a mac, that is not possible, and your wasting your time even attempting it. Sell the mac and buy a laptop, you will be happier.

If he's using VMWare fusion and accessing a Win7 guest via OSX host, then you're right.
However, if he's dual-booting Win7 through Boot Camp, then it should still work.
Samsung phones, like LG phones, have a way of switching the USB mode to allow Zune or allow tethering (the latter killed by Mango).
Monkeytown will have to follow the instructions for changing the USB mode back to the one that allows for Zune (on LG phones, it's called MS COMPOSITE).
i´m running a dual boot system, no vmware...
and microsoft released the wp7 connector themselves for mac, so it SHOULD work :/
i think i never saw an option of tethering in the settings menu, so how can i do that? i mean, change the usb mode
/e: i managed to get another omnia 7, and it works like a charm via my usb cable and mac connector
so....i would like to see the instructions that i should follow -.-
I've been experiencing some problems with connecting to my mac since I upgraded my tf to ICS. Namely, it just won't do it. I've got the Android file transfer application open on my mac, the USB cord is confirmed working (at least, its been charging my tablet from the wall charger)... But the desktop program just says "No android device detected". Is it possible that I've missed something? Or is this a known issue?

Make sure you turn this setting on: "Make device discoverable"!
I did a quick flip through the settings, but couldn't find that option. What heading is it under?
I did however find that I could set it transfer files without using MTP. Its late now, but I'll try it tomorrow.
I can't do Wifi at work, but Bluetooth is allowed.
My phone (Motorola Droid Mini XT1030) supports Bluetooth internet sharing, no problem. Tested it and it works.
Only problem is my PC running Windows 8.1 can tether to the phone and use phone's internet, but not the reverse. No way to reverse-tether to the PC via bluetooth that I'm aware of, and I'd like to stay wireless.
Got an idea to use a cheap old phone as a bridge. Reverse tether cheap phone to PC via USB using ReverseTethering app, then use phone's Bluetooth tethering to share that with my XT1030. Well, turns out this is not possible, at least not with Android. Author of the ReverseTethering app confirmed it.
So that got me thinking, how about old Windows Mobile? Used to be you could just plug a WinMo phone into the PC, and it was automatically reverse-tethered. Can an old WinMo phone share that reverse-tethered internet connection to another phone via Bluetooth?
If not, any way to do that with iPhone or Windows Phone 8? I still have my old iPhone 4S and can probably get a WP8 phone pretty cheap.
No idea about WM, but give this a try?

Thanks, but that's for ICS and below, all my Androids are on KitKat.
I have a Metropcs LT Leon LTE LGMS345 android ver 5.0.2, Problem is getting my Asus laptop to recognize my phone with I want to transfer photos and media using usb or bluetooth. Computer does not recognize the phone connection. Have downloaded the LG Suite recommended by tech support but no luck. Have another laptop with windows 7 and no problem there. Only with Windows 10. Has anyone experienced this problem that can offer some info on how I can fix this?
maybe this helps
put ur phone in charge mode than back on mtp mode this worked for me on a galaxy s4 .
Hi,
My girlfriend has some issues with her W10 PC. She's on the normal builds (not Insider), latest updates.
The PC is able to read other USB sticks, so the ports are not broken. The phone is identified by the PC, but it only works as a charger. When the state is changed to MTP, nothing appears in My Computer.
I tried to hook it to my W7 work laptop and everything was fine. I have to add that no drivers for the phone were installed on my part.
Any idea if this is a known glitch with W10? I'm on the Skip Ahead builds, so I don't think it's relevant if I check it on my personal laptop.
Thing is, the phone was seen by the PC just fine until a while ago (I don't know what ago means, girls have weird time perception when it comes to technology).
Any hints on what can I do to fix this?
Thanks!
I use Windows 10 Pro with latest updates and Windows and Odin see the phone but not adb for some reason.
