Question Transparent Notification Shade? - Google Pixel 7 Pro

I really dislike the opaque notification shade that became standard in Android 12 and now 13.

Is it possible to make it transparent like in the picture below, as opposed to the pictures above?

Nova launcher will do what you want.

I already use Nova launcher. How do I make the notification shade transparent?
I'm not talking about the notification *bar*, I'm talking about the big notification shade the covers the bottom half of the screen when you swipe down.

Mine is completely black so I am not sure what you are trying to do. But I have found that there are many setting within Nova such as various places where you can use a slider for maximum transparency.

Did you look at the pictures I posted? They illustrate what I'm trying to do. If yours is completely black, then you have the same situation as me, which is what I am trying to change.

Yea can't do this as far as I know. I also am having some notification issues with how absolutely gigantic all of the incoming notification bars are. I would like them to be a lot smaller with far less padding, and also have a semi transparent shade. I suspect this stuff can be done with xposed, but haven't used that in years at this point.

ClearLineage should do this - Once they get it working on A13!

Any registry tweak to not show running program name in title bar?

I was wondering how to disable displaying the program name on the taskbar - is there a registry tweak for this?
It's just a cosmetic thing, i would rather see the taskbar clean with just the icons and time instead of having the current running program's name on it.
Any solution?
The closest I've come is by using something like Tweaks2k2 to change the Start-bar font color. So using something like Vicott's great UI Tweaker app, I change my top/bottom bars to all black, then change the font-color to black too.
That will "hide" the program title but, as a side effect it also changes the Time font color. Your signal bars, data connection, battery are untouched though.
It's simple, elegant and my choice for doing things, but like I said you loose the clock. Also, matching the exact colors to the top/bottom bars can be tedious if you don't know their exact color codes, if you do you're all set.

It looks really nice, the way you have done your layout - I like it a lot. I tried changing the colour of the text, but the thing is, I don't wanna loose the WM6 bars - and I am not able to find the matching colour while keeping the "glass" look. But thanks for the advice
If you don't want to lose the clock, you can use analogic clock instead of digital clock (long click over clock to change it)

App to call notification bar?

On such a large screen, it is difficult to reach for the notification bar at top. Task switchers like wave launcher and swipepad can be used to set a button in them to call notification bar, but I'm unable to find such an app. (I got home and lock set this way though).
Anyone knows an app that toggles the notification?
I don't know of such an app, but in GO Launcher EX and some other launchers you can set it up so the notification bar drops down when you swipe down anywhere on a home screen. I've been using this on all my Androids and I love it because like you say, it's hard to reach the bar sometimes. If I try a new launcher and it doesn't support this I uninstall it immediately.

I know launchers can do it, but that is when you are at home screen.
However, with swipepad/wave launcher, a shortcut can be assigned to app for notification toggle. I have done that for home and lock buttons, refer to screenshot.

Thanks. Swipepad is now complete, with lock, home, notification and app drawer.
I'm stretching it but is there any way to clear notifications from anywhere other than the notification bar?
One more app: status bar expander
(better icon that hello status bar)

Can't change Clock Placement on Lock Screen

I just rooted my phone and installed Sky ICS 4.2F6. I'm having a minor issue with the new lock screen.

As you can see in the image, the clock text is REALLY hard to read with certain backgrounds. I tried choosing the option to located it at the top/mid/bottom of the screen, but no matter what I choose, it doesn't reflect it on the lock screen. Even having a font/text with a drop shadow would be "good enough", but I can't seem to find a way to do this.
Can someone help me with this?
Could someone at least tell me if this is normal for the Sky ICS 4.2f6 update? I'm really new to rooting, so I don't know if this is to be expected or not.
I can confirm that this is normal for 4.2F6.
I'm pretty sure the clock position in the setting only applies to tw lockscreen, so either flash a tw lockscreen or simply change the lockscreen background.
Thanks. I'll give it a try.
yep. you need tw lockscreen. aosp lockscreen you can't change placement of the clock. when you flash the twlock, you lose the camera from lock option.

Yep, I just applied the stock tw lockscreen and it's working great. I'm bummed to lose the camera unlock feature, but not being able to read the time from my lock screen was much more of an inconvenience than that.
Thanks for the help everyone!
You have to edit a .XML file to change clock placement on the aosp lockscreen

As you can see in the screenshot, after modifying the DPI to something more realistic and not comedic, the UI adjusted perfect except it didn't center the all apps icon above the home button. I'm wondering how this could be fixed through maybe a mod or something.
I do not want a new launcher that doesn't have Google Search built in. Its not the same stock experience. Any idea what I should do?

Depends what you are trying to do. Are you trying to get more docked icons at the bottom, or the main grid on the launcher. Basically, what I did is I changed my DPI to 439 (wanted 445, but notifications get cut off in the pulldown bar). This is ideal for me and gives me an app drawer grid of 5x6. However, the launcher grid stayed the same, so I used the Launcher Tweaks settings in Gravity Box to customize the launcher grid to 5x5. Now, I still only have 4 apps in the dock tray on the bottom (plus the app drawer icon in the middle), but I do have a 5x5 grid on the homescreen. It looks like it came from the factory this way.

Transparent lockscreen on s7

Hi all,
Is there ANY known way to make the lockscreen transparent? I use the tapet wallpaper app and I would love if my main wallpaper is visible when I turn my screen on
~thanks in advance
Can you set the lockscreen to use the same wallpaper?

Wallpaper is randomly generated and set by intervals from app. My goal is to basically have my lockscreen wp black at 70% opacity or the frosted glass effect

Thanks for the suggestion, but this is just a guide to make a png image with transparency. When you try to set an image of that sort as a wallpaper, the transparent areas are filled with black.

Sorry, I'm not aware of any way to do that. Good luck.
I'm thinking there might be a way through the stock theme app/files but I couldn't find a way to edit the files... Yet ?
