Accessories Pixel 7 Pro skins - Google Pixel 7 Pro

As I was searching for many cases for my Pixel 7 Pro they all were looking the same and makes the phone bulky to use! Also, saw a post in the case thread where the camera base got scratched even with the case on the phone that's why I got this skin from Gadgetshieldz which covers the entire phone so it won't get any damage on the back. Would've gone with Dbrand but their skins cost is high compared to Gadgethsieldz and they both have the same quality skins.
This Bamboo Wood skin matches my computer desk which is cool, also it is 3M skin so it is sturdy and sticks well to the phone! I'll share a link and some images below,

I can understand the appeal of skins to make your phone look different (although personally, I wouldn't want to make my phone look like it's made from wood) but from a protection perspective, they're pretty pointless. They'll protect from basic scratches, but for anything else, you may as well keep the phone naked.
I have a transparent cover on mine that is thin and not bulky at all. So I get the protection of a case, whilst keeping the look of the phone I paid for.

Hadn't heard of Gadgetshields before, thanks for sharing. I went with the Dbrand myself, I really like the Robot Camo design.

I like this wood skin so I got it for my phone, there are a lot of skin varieties on the website so you can get what you like! I know it is just for scratch protection so I use a clear case whenever I go out, I too saw this transparent cover that is available on this site but I was interested in skins!
I got the snow-color Pixel 7 Pro and it was average looking so I skinned it...

Exactly the same applies if you don't bother with the skin. A case and screen protector have kept all my phones as new. If you're going to put a phone in a case, what's the point of spending money on a skin.

You'll still get wear and tear from case on/off, etc. Regardless, skins arent not useful, and if u like em buy em, if ya dont then move on

You must be using cases differently than me. Never had wear and tear on my phones.
And liking the look of them is fine. But unless the case you're putting them in is transparent, there isn't much point as the skin can't be seen.

Skins are for grip, and scratches, not protection. I use them on every phone I own. I hate cases

DBrand Navy Camo.

My skin currently reminiscing the pixel 2xl

I used https://www.xtremeskins.co.uk/ for a skin for my camera bar (as i did on my P6P) great service from them if you're in the UK.

I also ordered a skin from them.
I've put it inside spigen rugged armor but I wanted to protect camera bar, so skin was the way to go.

It seems like the camera bar is very prone to scratches so I just ordered a skin (matte black) for it from XtremeSkins. I bought from them in the past, their skins are good and reasonably priced.

Here is mine: xtremeskins. I've been using for years. For laptops, tablets, phanes. And always they give discount if you ask them. Maybe it is only me. But I got 15% OFF on this skin.

Wear and tear happens when you use a plastic case that will chip the phone paint on the sides so I use skin and a clear case if necessary!

[REVIEW] Rugged Armor Case - Love Mei: Powerful

I arrived at work this morning and I'd received a new case for my Galaxy Note 4 to review! Happy days!
I'm currently dissecting it now and will update this thread later today, but first impressions.... this thing is BIG!
I've personally never seen anything with such heavy duty protection for the Note series, that's not to say they're aren't others, it's just a new one on me.
If you're scared of damaging your device, then this robust looking thing may be right up your street.
More to follow shortly while I put this thing thru it's paces.

PACKAGING:
The packaging is pretty decent to be fair, and definitely has a premium feel to it.
THE CASE:
Straight out of the packaging, this is what you get, they've included an Alan Key, to actually get into the thing which I think is good of them.
I've had "screw in" cases before, where you end up having to search around in the spider invested drawers of your garage just to get a key or screwdriver small enough to fit these things, so definitely a positive on that front.
Open up the case here is what you get inside:
Two Lanyards
An alcohol wipe
Cloth
Spare screws
And a second Alan Key
It's simply a case of unscrewing the screws and dropping your phone in
The inside part where the phone sits is rubber, with parts of it made into a honeycomb mesh, I'd say there's about 1CM of the stuff that separates the phone from the outside world once fitted.
The other materials used are aluminum for the front and back plate and it also has it's own glass protector which states to be Gorilla Glass, I can't confirm or disprove this but it's definitely glass.
The glass itself is clear and does not impair viewing and because the glass is attached to the case and not adhered to the screen, you do not get the "halo effect" associated with the current tempered glass protectors currently on the market.
Once installed get ready to start weight lifting, the whole thing together is "HEAVY", most definitely not something you'd want to stick in the top pocket of your shirt.
The only part not covered by this case is the rear camera, but is protected to a degree, as it's set back from the surface of the case.
Because the whole phone is enclosed, you have some raised capacitive buttons, to use instead of touching the phone itself, they work really well as does the responsiveness of the screen and the S-Pen on that screen, the S-Pen doesn't work with the capacitive buttons though, not a big deal but it's something to be aware of.
The ports for the Pen, USB and headphone socket are all covered by a cap of some description, the case states to be "Weather Proof" and I think it most definitely is, everything seems to lock together well, but it's not raining here (for once) so can't test this right now.
On a side note, I'm happy to report that all the cutouts for the ports and sensors are precise, everything I can see so far makes me have a feeling they've took care in creating this case.
The back of the case has a raised rubber backing, giving it some friction to stop it sliding around.
It's not as "grippy" to my bare fingertips though.
CONCLUSION:
This case in my opinion is great for those who do a lot of outdoor activities, or work in outdoor conditions and want to protect their device the best they can, this really does feel rugged and up to the challenge, in stopping rain and dust getting to your Note 4.
I personally would use, but only when I'm going to the beach or out camping/walking in the countryside with the family, not as my daily protection, for the adventurers out there, this is thing will be a great investment.
For the average person like myself, it's just two heavy and adds a substantial amount girth to the size of the Note 4 to use full time.
My everyday protection comes in the form of a Spigen Neo Hybrid, which in itself isn't exactly slender, but providing Love Mei don't ask for it back
I'll use the Powerful when I know I'm going to be going somewhere that phones are "allergic to" as this thing feels bomb proof.
Cheapest place I could find to get this was direct from them http://www.lovemeicases.com/love-mei-powerful-bumper-for-galaxy-note-4/ at $49.99
I like he case, but the branding on the front is the big turn off for me.

I know, mental ain't it! you need to have big hands to handle this with one hand, I'm 6.1" have sizeable hands and can just manage to handle it.
These cases were originally copied from a company called Lunatik.
Lunatik really dropped the ball making anything outside of the iPhone only cases.
That Note 4 version sure looks huge. Makes the Defender look slim.
A kickstand would have been nice. If it had a holster I'd buy it. I particularly like the glass protection screen considering there isn't a glass protector that fits properly w/o a halo available and I like the water resistant feature. Did you test it making calls and know your voice doesn't sound muffled?
From a bulk standpoint it doesn't look any bulkier than any other highly protective case like the Defender for example.
I see where others are talking about seeing the case, but I don't see any pictures that are posted. Were they taken down?

We only get the black and glacier in the UK. It's a bit of pain to order from the US because I always end up paying custom fees and the case itself is pricey already. And then I don't want to buy from a reseller because I am not aware of any reputable ones. You never know whether it will be genuine. I bought one for my S4 and it was a really bad clone. Oh well!

I always put a rugged case on my new phones for a couple of months. By then I have my eye on something new. Then I take off the bulky case and enjoy the phone for a while before I sell it.
Thanks for the detail review, firstly I'm hanging on between love mei case and lunatik takkit, now I will go for love mei to have my N4 under extreme protection....
This case seems solid on protection,no other cases will have a better performance on guard...

Phone skins are really great to add style to any phone, plus they’re not expensive, but they provide minimal protection if you happen to drop your phone. On the other end of the spectrum are cases, which are generally more expensive but offer much more protection. Cases are bulky and they don’t let the beauty of your phone show through because they often have to cover all four edges as well as the back of the phone.

That’s where CrashGuard by RhinoShield comes in. CrashGuard is essentially a bumper case, which means that it does not cover the back of your phone but only the sides (thus giving your device a more “naked” feel), but because of how it’s engineered, it provides more protection than most cases. CrashGuard is far superior to the bumpers of the past because it has been engineered to absorb impact. This is done by utilizing a proprietary polymer material that is far more shock-absorbent than plastic, and it also has a protective honeycomb structure within the bumper to disperse impact properly. In fact, within the honeycombs are compartments of pressurized air that act as airbags and deflect impact energy. If that sounds really elaborate, it is, and the net result is that you can drop your phone from a variety of heights (up to 11 feet) and if you have a CrashGuard bumper on the phone, you’re going to have a completely unmarked phone. If you want to see how incredible this protection is, watch this video from David Pogue where he does everything in his power to smash his phone by dropping it from a tall ladder.
Not only are CrashGuard bumpers durable, but they’re lightweight (with most of their bumpers coming in under 14 grams). They’re also pretty grippy thanks to the matte finish, and they come in a variety of colors. Another thing we really like about the CrashGuard line is the pricing: the Pixel XL is priced at $24.99, and you can pre-order a CrashGuard for the Pixel/Pixel XL.
Use discount code "XDAFTW" for 15% off until November 10, 2016. Check out the RhinoShield store here.
Thanks to RhinoShield for sponsoring this post and contest.
Where is the blue to match VZW true blue? Anyways, good bumper, true bumper, is always welcomed!
Any pictures of the bumper? How wide is it?
Any plans for clear and or orange?
This bumper added a lot of widness/tallness on the 6P and I imagine this will be the same. It will probably be manageable due to the Pixel's smaller size (XL included), but still... I'd like to see them make a more minimalistic bumper too.

Loved the crashguard on my Nexus 6P, so I might as well get this too for my Pixel XL
I just hope this Bumper is better than the crappy one Verizon sold for the Moto Z Force. That thing really was bad. The best bumper ever was the Nexus 4 I think, the all glass Nexus. That bumper was great looking.
I gave a Rhino arriving weds. Amazon has them before Rhinos website does

I can say that this bumper is great, I have it already and it adds very little bulk to the device. I didn't like it in the 6P so much cuz it made it very wide.
Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
You guys should try it in person, it made my 6P horrendously large and hard to hold that I returned it.
Reviews looks pretty poor on the Pixel Xl version. Is there gonna be a revised 2.0 version?
Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
I've received mine today.
I was using a Spigen rugged armor before and the bumper feel so much nicer. It doesn't really make the phone wider and it feel good to touch the glass/metal
I've seen such mixed reviews on this bumper. Right note I'm using a cheap tpu car and it's ok but I'm looking for something more premium. My wife just dropped and shattered her iPhone today and I'm thinking I need to bump up my protection but I hate bulkiness

Yeah, I don't get it. Some are saying maybe it's the first batch that is an issue. I have such a hard time taking the bumper off and I'm even scared that I would damage my phone putting so much force on it just to remove a simple bumper. It's such a shame cause I really like having it on my 6P and it feels real nice on the Pixel except for the tight feel. You can't even put a DBrand skin on it with the bumper cause it'll scrape off the edge.
I've reached out to them to see if there was an issue with the first batch. And if they say no, then I would not recommend them to anyone.

I can confirm its pretty tight.
I tried to remove it and I couldn't. I'm also scared that it will crack my screen from the pressure needed.
Even with the bumper in, I can still use it in my daydream so I won't bother to remove it at all.

So, I just decided to buy another one but from Amazon this time, which has mix reviews. This one still has a tight fit but not as bad as the one I pre-ordered from RhinoShield. Their response to me was to make a video and direct me on how I can get it off. Did not feel like putting that one back on because it's just that dam frustrating. Don't know how many people that had issue actually emailed them but I think they should take the review more seriously and actually test it themselves. At this point, I still wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Unless they want to test their luck on getting one that isn't so tight.

[IME/EXO][DISKUSSION/COLLECTION] HTC U12+/Exodus 1 - Case Compilation Thread

Greetings everybody,
so after I pre-ordered my HTC U12+ Translucent Blue, and am currently waiting for a review unit, I started ordering some cases to compare and see which one I'll go with on my all new HTC U12+. I dicided to share my first orders, and to review them as they arrive, updating this thread accordingly.
What I ordered:
QULLOO Clear - Shock absorbing TPU Case
MEINOUXU Slim Rubber Frosted Matte Plastic - Hard Case
What contributers ordered:
Poetic Carbon Shield by @jrocka312
Moonmini PU Leather Case by @tbalden
Tudia Slim Fit EXTREME by @MrN1484
mumbi TPU Frosted Case by @SuperFredF
I will add to this list, as either I'm getting new cases, or you are adding new ones with your own reviews. For the later case, I'll post a linkt to your post in the OP, and add it to the list.
Now have fun reading and participating at this thread.
5m4r7ph0n36uru
1) [QULLOO] Crystal Clear - Shock absorbing TPU Case
In the low-budget segment there are, as usual, a large number of cases. I usually use one until I receive my higher quality, pre-ordered cases - like something from Spigen. The QULLOO TPU Softcase differs significantly from the Spigen Liquid Crystal Case. Although this case also comes with a so-called Dottet Buffer surface on the inside, instead of the air cushions in the Spigen Case, it has clear thickening at the corners, and a matt reinforcement in the area of the Edge Sense 2.0 sensors.

In the test, however, the matt reinforcement was quite a hindrance. If the U12+ recognizes the short squeeze, as well as the squeeze and hold action correctly, there were always problems with the double tap action, because it was not recognized right away.
Test result: good (2)
2) KingShark Transparent TPU Case
Another case in the low-budget segment is the KingShark Transparent TPU Case. It is significantly thinner than the cases of QULLOO, or spigen, but also comes in a so-called dottet buffer surface inside. This prevents, as in the case of the Spigen Liquid Crystal Case, unsightly blistering and/or staining between the smooth surface of the HTC U12+ and the case as such.

Furthermore, it does not possess "Air Cushion Technology"
Test result: good (2)
1) [HTC] Transparent - Hard Case
Review in the works.
2) [MEINUOXU] Slim Rubber Frosted Matte Plastic - Hard Cover
As with TPU cases, there is an almost endless selection in the low-budget segment of hard cases - especially on portals like AliExpress. In order to have an alternative, and thus independent comparison possibility, to the supplied HTC Crystal Clear Hardcase, I also ordered some cases via AliExpress in this case - since each one only cost about 0,80 €. The cases have a decisive disadvantage compared to the HTC hardcase: they lack the necessary cut-outs in the area of the edge sense sensors. Furthermore, the cutouts for the volume buttons and the power button do not match the positions on the frame of the HTC U12+.

A test was not necessary due to the shortcomings mentioned above.
Test result: insufficient (6)
I'm really curious about how much attention case and screen protector companies give the U12+ due to HTC's decreased popularity.
Does anyone know if the screen has a curve to it at all? I'm real worried we will be in another situation that you can't find a decent tempered glass. I guess that's for another thread though.
No official accessories?
No official accessories I know of at least. Well there is one of course: the clear hard case coming in the box! Will add this right away.
Glad there are one or two Spigen TPU cases upcoming, as I really love to have those on my phones.
Sent from my HTC U11 using XDA Labs
I will be buying both spigen cases. Let ya'll know what I think when I can. I hope incipio decides to make a 2 or so cases for us.
OP update.
Added first impressions to the cases that I already received. This OP will for sure be a WIP - Work in Progress - until my U12+ has been in use for at least 1 - 2 months.
Greetings

The glass appears to be entirely flat until the edges, until it forms an M9-esque 90 degree bend and goes into the aluminum body. Think as if the entire front portion of the M9 were glass.
At least, that's what I'm getting out of the pictures that have come out so far.

OP update.
Added the first test results. More will follow for sure!
I'm finally going to get this one https://www.amazon.de/Moonmini-Rück...UTF8&qid=1528978613&sr=1-14&keywords=u12+plus
This looks like good protection and somewhat I like its leather style.
I'll get a transparent one on the longer run, once the bigger names start to ship them.

Great choice when it come to design. Looking at the matt black one since a few days. Still didn't order it. Seems a little bit flexible at the sides which would be positive for Edge Sense and double tap I guess.

Not yet. But such a case might be a problem when it comes to Edge Sense and its usability. Thus I went with TPU crystal clear cases, which IMHO did a good job in protecting my U11 and still keep the Edge Sense sensors working.

I've got same question man... I don't understand HTC's sales policy sometimes....
I just ordered the Poetic Karbon Shield. Should receive both the case and phone tomorrow. Will update with my thoughts. https://www.amazon.com/Poetic-Karbon-Shield-Absorbing-Texture/dp/B07C6YW9CT/ref=sr_1_1_sspa/145-2051360-8800628?ie=UTF8&qid=1530103836&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=poetic+htc+u12&psc=1
Sorry for the delay. I have been using the Poetic Karbon Shield for 10 days now and I have to say it is great! It does not inhibit Edge Sense from working and does not have any negative impact on the haptic buttons for power and volume. The case does have a nice lip around the entire screen to protect it when face down. There is an ample amount of buffer between the case and camera as well. The texture on the back and sides is not slippery and allows for a nice grip when holding the phone. The cutouts are all perfect. The case most definitely gives me more confidence than then included OEM case. It does not make the phone that much more bulky. I really like this case!
My opinions so far:
Poetic Karbon Shield : 8
Ringke FUSION-X: 9
HTC OEM Case: 4
I see the spilgen case is now in stock the Spilgens own site, so hopefully will be on Amazon uk soon

Perfect Skin and Protector for Note 9

My dream phone Galaxy Note 9 needed top notch protection. Didn't want to take a risk, so went on to hunt for the best of the best SKIN & SCREEN protector and found the perfect one. GadgetShieldz It Is!
Just amazed at the way it eliminates the scratches. The major part is it just cuddles the whole screen right till the edge of the screen glass. Also very hard to figure out whether it is applied or not.
The Skin too protects the back, camera lens (a big +) from scratches and gives the mobile a total grip. If you are looking to use your phone without any bulk, this must be the protection to go for. Go for the case fit screen protector if you are planning to use a case.

with the GadgetShieldz screen protector, would the Samsung case that comes in the box work properly? Please confirm.

I don’t use S Pen much but from whatever I used, the S Pen works normally as it should without any screen protector. Even the Air commands work perfectly alright. Didn’t see any depressions or scratches on the screen.
And the bubbles can be seen if your installation goes wrong, but it will all get vanished within a day. Trick is to squeeze out as much as moisture as possible immediately after confirming the alignment. I didn’t get even a single bubble.

They offer a case fitting screen protector too on their website. So I think those should work with any case.
I applied and checked, it fits perfectly.

Obviously not .
Custom SlickWraps. I did a pretty bad job of applying it. It still looks good, but tiny imperfections make the whole thing underwhelming IMO. But I'll get over it. Also, the bulge is a metal plate for the magnetic phone holders.
I've got a spare Slickwraps skin, so I'm giving it away to someone in the UK

Sopiguard Skin - 3m Color Shift Deep Space
Haven't really seen many ppl mention the above brand but was using them on my s8+
Using one of those skins that change colors - this one goes between purple and green - don't really get copper like the pics indicate but still cool nonetheless

Nope, not much. Other than scratch protection, skins doesn't give any protection.
Ordered from Gadgetshieldz on 25th August and I'm still waiting for it to arrive!
I am in the UK, but even stuff from China doesn't take longer than 2 weeks. This is my first time ordering stuff from India, and will probably be the last.

S10 Pitaka Aramid/Kevlar Thin & Minimalist Case [Pre-Order Discount]

Probably the best case ever, for me i have to get it whenever i get any new devices, i got it for my pixel 2 xl, s8, s9+, Note 8, iPhone 7 plus, iPhone X & iPhone Xs Max.
and i have never change to any other brands. Right now it's a good time to get the case because of the pre-order discount as it's on the pricey side. Definitely must have for thin case lovers, one of the thinnest out there but build with quality.

The case edge is cut out around the buttons.
I have one on my Note 8 and the vent car mount with Qi charging. Really the best setup I've ever had. The case isnt drop rated, but is SUPER thin and light, and not slick at all. WELL worth the $$

it should be like my s9+/note8 case cutouts for volume button but top and bottom wrapped.
Pitaka has a known problem with not covering the sides very well and also leaving the screen fully exposed. Many other manufacturers are at least providing raised lips on their cases at less than half the cost of Pitaka. They really need to start doing that. You won't be losing any thinness or aesthetics, but you'll gain face down screen protection, and enhanced protection from short distance falls/drops.
Other than that the design, look, feel, durability seems to be great.
True ..it’s mainly for like us who loves the thin profile and the flushed corners and sides.. not too particular about drop protection to be honest

I'm not 100% sure of the known issue you're mentioning. As far as the screen being fully exposed, personally I wouldn't want any of it "Not exposed". These cases aren't at all designed for drop protection, and frankly even if they did provide raised lips, the case material itself gives no drop protection at all, it's all very thin carbon fiber.
I think one of the challenges some of the case mfg's are faced with is these phones with the curved edges and the use of screen protectors. Seems like a design nightmare
I've had this case on my N8 from day 1 and as far as I'm concerned is one of the better cases I've ever owned and honestly is one of the main reasons I didn't get a N9 (they didn't make the case for it)

The goal isn't really drop protection as much as it is gaining the ability to put the phone face down on a surface and not worry about it getting scratched. If they were to increase the vertical coverage of the corners, topside, and bottomside of the case just enough so that it was raised 1mm an upper/lower lip, then the phone' glass wouldn't make contact with a flat surface like a table. If you were to take a naked phone and place it on a table face down and move it around a bit, you'd likely end up with a ton of scratches.
No worries, I'm working on my own 3D printed Galaxy S10 case that should resolve these shortcomings.
I actually contacted Pitaka 6 months ago asking them why they weren't already doing it on the iPhone X, and they mentioned that it would be much much harder for the user to apply the case to the phone. I asked them why Spigen was doing it for less than half the price, and then I was shunned away.
By far my favorite case I ever used. Have had one in my s9+ since the day pitaka became available
Agree, with the low profile and button cutouts it's awesome! Cheers
Looks great except the price. Have to use dbrand alone.

For those looking super thin cases. This is the thinnest in the market.
I got that before for my pixel 2xl, texture of the case feels like cheap plastic but true that it’s the thinnest around.
the pre-order discount would end any time soon.. save as much as possible!

It's fine if you don't drop your phone because it's junk if you want any type of real protection. I've had one in my hands and a piece of cardboard taped to the phone would offer the same protection.
My standard setup for every phone is Pitaka + Whitestone Dome screen protector. This adds roughly $90 to the cost of obtaining a new phone but for me, it's worth it.
