I have a Samsung A53. Notifications when texts arrive generally work - I get a custom (self recorded) message notifying me that a text has been received. However, if, for example, I reply to that text and expect a reply back, there is no notification of the receipt of that follow up text. So follow up texts are silent. I can't imagine which setting could cause that or is this just how it works?
Thanks for any response.
Is the lack of response because you all are stumped too?

Hi guys,
On my HTC Sensation I have SMS notifications on with devliery reports. However I do not know how to disable notifications for delivery reports and it seems there is no option to do so.
The phone vibrates and sounds the notification when I receive a delivery report and when I receive an SMS/MMS, however I would rather not have any notifications for delivery reports and just SMS/MMS.
Is this at all possible? I've heard of SMS Popup, but I rather like android's notification system. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Edit: Found SMS popup to be a brilliant solution to this problem.
Agreed
I was looking for a solution to exactly the same problem when i found your post.
tried sms popup and it solves it, and also allows for other useful things like repeat notifications and a popup which are great too.
Hi,
Do you want to remove the delivery reports or do you just want to remove the sound and vibration and keep the notification in the notification bar?
If you want to remove the delivery reports, it's a setup.
On my phone with Android 4.0.3, I have to:
- Go to the SMS application
- Enter in the parameters section
- Choose SMS or MMS
- Remove the delivery reports
To keep the notification in the notification without the sound and vibration... I don't know
Is there any possibility to switch off sms report notification only but leave information about receiving sms in message thread?
I want to have information if my sms was received, but I don't want notification for each sms. It's really annoying.
I also want keep my stock app.
Any solutions?
sorry for my english
I assume you're using a Sense-based ROM - and that you're on about delivery reports showing up in the status bar?
The HTC messaging app is the only app that I know of that insists on putting delivery reports in the status bar, and I agree, it's really annoying. I also think that it isn't possible to silence the notification - if you have delivery reports turned on, you will get a notification for every successfully received message.
I appreciate from your post that you want to keep your stock messaging app, but unfortunately, I can't see any other way than using a Market alternative.
You could always try pulling the default messaging app from an AOSP build on the development forum and replacing it with that. The delivery reports with other messaging apps are quite subtle, and you get small notifications that fade in saying 'Message received by xxxxx.' that fade out again - much less intrusive.

Unfortunately as far as your phone is concerned an SMS is an SMS regardless if its a real incoming message for you or an SMS report notification.
Your phone reacts in the same way.
HTC sense is just basically plain stupid. Talking about Android = Customization.. What a joke.
I just noticed that when I respond to text messages via Gear's text templates, my response doesn't show up on the stock Messaging app on the phone. However, the recipient does indeed receive my template response. Is anyone else having this problem?
bump
A quick "yes" or "no" would help me understand if I need to dive into my Note 3 setup or just accept it for what it is.

I am having some problems on my OPO's SMS system that's really starting to be frustrating. When I am present in a group chat eventually I will get an error on my notification bar that says, "Message not sent" and then I go back in the group chat but my messages were actually sent my friends respond back to me. I will post a picture of what it looks like. I clear the notification, and then when I receive or I send a text message, (group chat or individual) the notification will pop back up on the notification bar. To get rid of this pesky problem I have to clear my entire text message history then the notification will go away, but not for good. Once any of my friends in the group chat decides to send a text out in the chat I receive the notification once again.... It is very annoying. Anyone have any idea how to fix this??
Thanks in Advance.
hi guys, I have the gear s2 for about a day only so far, and is hoping some of you can help me with the issues I'm experiencing.
1. When I receive a message on Viber, the watch doesn't vibrate (have read through similar threads on this already and have tried factory resetting and uninstalling the gear app on my phone). Watch vibrates fine when I receive messages via the default messaging app. I did add Viber to the notification apps on the gear app.
2. Checking the notification area, it just shows me "NAME has sent you a text message" instead of the actual message itself. At first I thought this is as good as I can get it to work, and that it isn't compatible with Viber to show the actual messages, but last night when I went to sleep, I received 3 Viber messages, and this morning, when I checked the watch, all 3 "actual" messages were displayed on the notification screen. So there must be some ways to make this work? New messages I've received thus far this morning have reverted back to "NAME has sent you a text message" notification. I think it is kind of pointless to have a smartwatch that doesn't vibrate when someone sends you a text via Viber, and when you do check your watch, you only see a notification that someone sent you a text message instead of being able to read the actual message.
3. The watch forces you to use the default messaging app, and won't work properly with Go SMS Pro. I've always used Go SMS Pro, because the default messaging app is very slow on threads with a lot of messages. Any workaround for this?
4. Is it safe to use the dock with my Samsung quick charger adapter or do I have to use its own adapter?
I pair the watch with a Galaxy Note Edge. Thanks!
EDIT: Fixed the Viber issue by enabling "Show Message Preview" on Viber settings within your phone app. The downside is, when enabled, the notifications on your phone when you receive a Viber message will also show the whole actual message.
anyone guys? especially #2? Is there a way to make viber messages show the actual message itself and not just a notification? thanks

After using the watch for another day, I found out that Go SMS Pro works with the watch, and you don't have to use the default Samsung Messaging app.
Also found out that when you receive a Viber message from 1 person, the watch will only notify you that you have received a text message. But if another person sends you a message through Viber as well (without you opening your phone yet), then both "actual" messages will start to show on the watch. Replying will still require your phone, as you can't reply though the watch. Weird that this happens and I hope it can be fixed.
Thanks.
