[Q] Is there any possibility to switch off sms report notification only? - HTC Sensation

Is there any possibility to switch off sms report notification only but leave information about receiving sms in message thread?
I want to have information if my sms was received, but I don't want notification for each sms. It's really annoying.
I also want keep my stock app.
Any solutions?
sorry for my english

I assume you're using a Sense-based ROM - and that you're on about delivery reports showing up in the status bar?
The HTC messaging app is the only app that I know of that insists on putting delivery reports in the status bar, and I agree, it's really annoying. I also think that it isn't possible to silence the notification - if you have delivery reports turned on, you will get a notification for every successfully received message.
I appreciate from your post that you want to keep your stock messaging app, but unfortunately, I can't see any other way than using a Market alternative.
You could always try pulling the default messaging app from an AOSP build on the development forum and replacing it with that. The delivery reports with other messaging apps are quite subtle, and you get small notifications that fade in saying 'Message received by xxxxx.' that fade out again - much less intrusive.

Unfortunately as far as your phone is concerned an SMS is an SMS regardless if its a real incoming message for you or an SMS report notification.
Your phone reacts in the same way.

HTC sense is just basically plain stupid. Talking about Android = Customization.. What a joke.

Text Messages / Clock issue

Having a slight problem here with my new captivate (came from an iPhone 4 and happy btw )
When someone sends me a text, and I reply... sometimes my 'bubble' will go above theirs and during a fast texting conversation I can send many texts that will go above all of my friends, causing it to be very hard to read. This happens with a bunch of people that text me. All people involved are on AT&T network, all getting automatic time from smartphones.
Any way to force texts to go in the order your device receives/sends them rather than by a time stamp?
Thanks folks
I've installed handcent and set it as my default in launcherpro.... BUT now I get double notifications (one handcent, one original) up top and only the handcent one clears when I view the message

[Q] SMS Delivery reports

Hi guys,
On my HTC Sensation I have SMS notifications on with devliery reports. However I do not know how to disable notifications for delivery reports and it seems there is no option to do so.
The phone vibrates and sounds the notification when I receive a delivery report and when I receive an SMS/MMS, however I would rather not have any notifications for delivery reports and just SMS/MMS.
Is this at all possible? I've heard of SMS Popup, but I rather like android's notification system. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Edit: Found SMS popup to be a brilliant solution to this problem.
Agreed
I was looking for a solution to exactly the same problem when i found your post.
tried sms popup and it solves it, and also allows for other useful things like repeat notifications and a popup which are great too.
Hi,
Do you want to remove the delivery reports or do you just want to remove the sound and vibration and keep the notification in the notification bar?
If you want to remove the delivery reports, it's a setup.
On my phone with Android 4.0.3, I have to:
- Go to the SMS application
- Enter in the parameters section
- Choose SMS or MMS
- Remove the delivery reports
To keep the notification in the notification without the sound and vibration... I don't know

[Q] SMS Question

I am using Nexus rom Build 2 Rev 12, and also installed the AOSP look for the sms and other misc items. Now what I am curious about is the same before and after installing the AOSP mod. What is happening is when I recieve a txt message I hear the notification so I know I have a message but it doesn't give me a visual indicator that I have a new txt message. So if I was in the other room and came back to my phone and just looked at it I would have no idea I missed a txt message unless I actually go and look. On the leaked ICS or stock as you will it would put a number on the message icon but now it doesn't have that. Is this something that would have been removed in this specific rom or is it a bug? Is there something I can do to get it back or do I just need to switch roms? I am on call on the weekends for work and I have to be able to know if I receive txt messages so this is kinda a big deal for me.
Thanks

Worst case get Apex Pro launcher and enable SMS unread count. I use it anyways cause its just a nice feature
I guess I am missing the SMS unread count setting, where is it at in the Apex Pro Launcher settings?

Apex Settings -> Advanced
Missed Call Count, Unread SMS Count, Unread Gmail Count
Edit: Missed call count you need to upgrade to the beta version, which has been perfectly stable for me, which you can upgrade to under About Apex Launcher Pro
yea I didn't have the beta so I didn't have the options but now I do thanks for the heads up.

[Q] How to see gtalk notifications but NOT message text

Hi,
I've been trying to disable talk application to display text of incoming messages (security risk), while still being notified when new message arrives. Not an option . You can either disable notifications for good, make them pop up (even worse) or have it as it is by default: showing you a line of text from last message you received.
I installed trillian IM hoping it would have the option I need, but with no luck. I'm perfectly happy with talk app btw, but lack of this option is simply plain old stupid.
Does anyone know how to resolve this or some other IM messenger that I could use instead, which has this nice little option?
Cheers

SMS Text apps that have a few seconds delay before sending?

Wondering if anyone knows all of the texting apps that have the ability to enable a multi-second delay before sending the message. For example, with ChompSMS you can enable 'Delayed Sending' which gives you options of 1 second, 1.5 seconds, 2 seconds, 2.5 seconds, and 3 seconds. With this feature enabled, after you hit SEND in the app, you see a short progress bar counting down the seconds and the SEND button changes to STOP so that, if you notice any typos/mistakes/etc, you can hit STOP before those 3 seconds are up and the message will not be sent. Handcent also had this feature too, but I am not aware of any other apps that have this feature and it really is a must-have for me.
I also like the ability to reply from notifications in my texting app (i.e. Sliding Messaging, stock message app) but ChompSMS does not have this (I'm on Jelly Bean 4.3 running CM 10.2). Unfortunately ChompSMS does not have expandable notifications yet that allow me to reply from (instead of having to open up the entire app) so I am looking into alternative text apps with this delayed feature. Ideally, I'd like to find an app that has this multi-second delay before sending as well as expandable notifications that you can reply from (i.e. Sliding Messaging). I dont like intrusive 'pop-ups' that display on your phone for every message you get, I'd rather just be able to reply from the notification bar for certain messages.
Thanks in advance for any responses.
Go sms has that feature. A little countdown on the send button pops up and you can cancel it. But it's a premium feature, so I believe there's a ONE TIME fee... But I know for a fact it has it.. And it also has a pop up message option which I think pops up in front of other apps and you can simply reply from there... 'GOSMS' PLAYSTORE
