[Completed] Apps Crashing

Any time I try to play a video (non YouTube type of vid. Idk what it's called) the app fails to respong for at least 30 seconds, and all hardware buttons are rendered useless. Then the app crashes. It's happening to me on Showbox but it's happening other places. I failed to mention this only happens when the video is put in landscape mode. Help appreciated. I'm running CyanogenMod 12

Is MX Player subject to today's new subtitle parsing vulnerability?

http://blog.checkpoint.com/2017/05/23/hacked-in-translation/
Seeing as how VLC, Kodi and Popcorn Time are vulnerable I figured that they are probably using the same libraries and there was a fair chance that MX Player is similarly affected. Please let us know and if so the expected timeline for a fix.

Video Players | Security breach report
Hi guys,
I don't want to alarm anyone and I'm new on this forum.
I'm not a developer of any kind but I've recently came across an article that's affecting many of the video players used in android.
Is MX player at risk and are there any measures taken to address this situation?
Thanks in advance for your assistance
Give the details of the report.
I am assuming that you're talking about the one with able to remote access victim's computer with specially prepared movie subtitles? Is that the one?

Hi,
Thanks for the reply since it's my first thread ,I cannot quote any external sources to provide more information.
The one that you're describing is exactly the one.
Thank you
Unfortunately, it was not disclosed publicly hot to exploit the issue is but I don't believe there was any indication of an Android app being affected (it requires VNC server so presumably not).
MX Player developers will need to address this one, I imagine once there are more details
My bad, actually it's already covered in https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/mx-player/mx-player-subject-to-todays-subtitle-t3611258/ - MX Player is safe
Thanks for the ref post that confirm the issue covered

Problems while screen recording and in game chat.

Recently I change my device to OnePlus 6 thinking that it's a very decent device but unfortunately my opinion was wrong..There are so many problems like unable to text chat in online game( Rules of survival) unable to use mic to chat while screen recording. The media players are really dissappointing, no seek options, there is no dedicated music player except that Google play music ( uff so annoying) any Developers in here is reading my question please help me find a solution to these said problems. Specially those problems with gaming.

Specific Netflix Mirroring Issue that I cant find a thread for.

Good Tidings Forum ,
This is my first post. And of course I am asking for help. I thank anyone that takes the time to read this and assist me in advance.
Phone: Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 (V) on Lineage OS 14.1 updated to latest update before 15.1. Rooted and using Magisk
Problem Explanation: Streaming Netflix to android auto using AA mirror side loaded app does not produce video. All other applications produce video (vlc player , youtube). Netflix will log into the menu and display everything up until the the the playing of the movie. at which point the movie will not play but it will show all the buttons like fast forward and will play audio and show the line for how long the movie is ect. But no picture. Netflix does work perfectly fine on my phone when not using mirror app.
Possible Reason this is happening: I did some research and found out Netflix uses HDCP which may be causing me this issue. I saw in one forum that some users have HDCP checking in developer options. But following this XDA link I was unable to obtain this setting https://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/general/root-bypass-hdcp-mirroring-easy-t3616836 . It could be caused by something else but right now from what I have researched this seems like the cause.
Possible resolutions:
1) Maybe there is a netflix version out there before HDCP that still works. I cannot find a changelog anywhere that tells me when they implemented it. I have tried several versions of netflix going back as far as May 2016. If someone knows a date when netflix did not have HDCP if ever that would be helpful to let me know so I can test. (so far unable to find a version of netflix that will work on AA Mirror)
2) Possibly find a way to enable HDCP checking on developer options. (once again if HDCP is actually my issue) which may allow netflix to work without issues.
3) A magisk Mod or APK out there to help me that I am unaware of?
4) I read online alot of times that there are hdmi splitters that bypas HDCP. If this is my only solution I need something that is phone based. I would need an usb micro bypass splitter. My connection to Android Auto is usb to micro usb to my phone so i would need the proper software to accomodate that and a way to power it.
This may not be HDCP but I am thinking these is a way somehow to resolve this. Any help is much appreciated and thanks again!
Hi, did you get a reply? I'm having the same issue...
This forum is a year old but seems no one has given any solution. I'm facing the same problem.

Video lags/buffers/stutters while streaming from online app

No matter which size, format or online url I use, the video eventually starts lagging. I have switched between HW+, HW and SW decorders as well but to no avail. I’m not allowed to either attach a file or a url as of now in this thread. I have even reduced the cpu cores to just two. I’m also using the codecs on this site for 1.9.18.2.
I’ve installed MX Player on my Sanyo Android TV running Oreo. The specs of the TV, video and player should be available from the logs. Please help me either force the player to keep caching the entire video until it’s done (if that’s the problem) or find a way to get the best possible configuration for decoding the videos. Thanks, I’m advance.

Hey Yohu,
Thanks for reaching out. Generally, this may happen due to inadequate bandwidth. If your bandwidth is good enough, the server might be throttling itself. Several online streaming apps make use of the cloud storages as an alternative to CDNs. If it is the case with you, it might be due to the bandwidth limitation on the cloud storage side.
We will be able to assist you if you can provide us with more information. Could you please collect a bug report from the app immediately after noticing the issue and contact us at [email protected] along with the details about the app used for streaming? It will help us to assist you better.

I agree. My bandwidth is a 50Mbps broadband line. I downloaded a 1080p video and played it via MS Player offline. It didn’t lag/stutter even once! Then I changed the online source from where I was streaming videos and voila! The stuttering and lagging were permanently fixed. Thank you for the quick response. This thread/issue is resolved/closed.
