Hi Guys, if this is the wrong place to post this tread please move it where should be.
As per the subject, I'm finding the auto brightness on Xiaomi 12T too dark and also it seems that the reading mode is setup by default despite being on or off: the font of some android applications is yellow, not white.
I had Mi 9T Pro and auto brightness worked flawlessly, how is possible that on a modern device with the latest ROM is not?
I have tried already all the workaround: light mode and dark mode selected, toggled off the adjust wallpaper to dark mode, and adjusted text and background automatically, yet the auto brightness is too low and pretty useless.
ok I found out that is not reading mode but the color accent that depends on wallpaper. I have put a sunset as wallpaper and the colour accent is pink and orange pastel. I didn't have this "issue" with Mi 9, it's incredible that the updates remove some functionality instead to add more...

Hey guys,
Is there a way to fix the slight black crush that Huawei P20 has? With Screen Balance app, I can only make all the colors a bit brighter, leading to black not being black, but dark grey.
Also, I can't enable the sRGB mode in the Developer Options, it always reverts to off. Any clues?
Thanks!
Hello, I have the redmi 6 for almost a year and so far so good with how the automatic brightness worked.
The brightness slider was working as a suggestion for the ambient light sensor so if I found the automatic being too dim I could just up the slider to my tastes and have the automatic lighting adjusting accordingly.
After the last update to MIUI 11 and android 9 however the automatic light is just way to dark and the slider is moving completely on it's own without taking input from me, so I just can't have both automatic brightness and configure how strong it will be at the same time.
Is this a bug or the way android 9 works? Any workaround to change it back to the old functionality?
Today I used the brightness to the maximum (because I went out to the street to stock up, city still in quarantine bah) and I realized that when hitting a lot of light on the screen the colors become more "pastel" so to speak and it is visually annoying . It should be noted that I have the color palette in saturated (not automatic) with the default color temperature and the sunlight mode disabled.
Is this normal or can it be disabled in some way?
PS: before I had a Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite and Redmi Note 8 that the same thing happened but having the color palette in automatic

Activated or not activated, the same thing happens what I comment
I actually love the 12.2.4 update (I knew what I was getting into and was fine using the poco launcher). But I have this issue where the status bar is black sometimes and the gesture indicator has this annoying white bar behind it that really looks ugly... (see screenshot) Do I have to uninstall other launchers? Or should I reset poco launcher?
[E] After uninstalling nova launcher it was gone, but now it's back
The status bar is black since miui 12, if you have a bright background. I don't know who is the brilliant developer, that thought this is a good idea.
Try changing the background, or try the settings under "more dark mode options" - "adjust wallpaper to dark mode" with ON and OFF.
I have a blue background, which also turns the status bar black, if I turn the mentioned setting off.

Thx for the suggestion! But I don't use dark mode at all. It also turns dark when I'm on light mode and I get that ugly bar behind the gesture indicator at the bottom.
I think it has something to do with display size setting in accessibility (or DPI). When I use display size S or XS, I don't have the issue only with L or when I set DPI lower than 392 (which is stock).. But why!?
[e] upon further testing I found out that it's a combination of setting DPI below 392 and the wallpaper... Maybe it's because of the colors in the wallpaper or the size or I don't know but certain (scrolling) wallpapers in combination with low DPI produce this bug with gesture indicator and status bar color pretty sure it has to do with bright/dark color but not sure. Weird stuff, but it seems like I fixed it.
Dark greys number 1-12 all look the same as black in Display Tester app. In dark scenes in movies wherever should be shadows I see only uniform black. It is unusable on movies and photos.
Anyone can suggest a fix?
Tried adaptive brightness on/off, 60/120 Hz, black mode on/off with no luck.
Using the vpn linked here to download the latest update has fixed HDR black level issues as well as others. Perhaps it will fix your issue.
