Today I used the brightness to the maximum (because I went out to the street to stock up, city still in quarantine bah) and I realized that when hitting a lot of light on the screen the colors become more "pastel" so to speak and it is visually annoying . It should be noted that I have the color palette in saturated (not automatic) with the default color temperature and the sunlight mode disabled.
Is this normal or can it be disabled in some way?
PS: before I had a Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite and Redmi Note 8 that the same thing happened but having the color palette in automatic

Is it possible your obscuring the light with your hand or fingers causing the phone to constantly adjust to what it thinks is changing light conditions?

its possible, if the sensor is on the bottom bezel. never had this issue w/ my n4,5,5x, or p1 though.
My problem is more that the brightness doesn't adjust itself enough. If I'm on auto-brightness and in a pitch black room, my phone blinds me because it doesn't adjust.
What is everyone else using for display settings? I've enabled 'Adaptive brightness' but it's doesn't adjust very well. I prefer not to have to go to something 3rd party like Lux.
Mine micro adjusts in a dark room it's not terrible but it's enough to be annoying while reading because it grabs your attention. More noticeable on white backgrounds.
Hey guys,
Is there a way to fix the slight black crush that Huawei P20 has? With Screen Balance app, I can only make all the colors a bit brighter, leading to black not being black, but dark grey.
Also, I can't enable the sRGB mode in the Developer Options, it always reverts to off. Any clues?
Thanks!
I've notice that gray color or black color on my phone will change have a white tint when my phone is under sunlight or in a bright area, is there a way to remove the feature?

This is a Qualcomm specific feature which is enabled at the hardware level, named Assertive Display

You can't simply disable it.
Hi, just updated my S10e to the latest update today. Now, my screen is black and white only. There is no colour in lock screen or apps either. Anyone with same issue?

Is it possible that the color adjustment settings were inadvertently adjusted or are corrupted?
Settings >accessibility> visibility enhancements> color adjustment
Make sure it's switched off.

It is switched off OK. I can say that when I turn the phone off and on again there is normal colour. But, when I enter my pin code and the phone starts, the colour gradually fades out to black and white only on the homezcreen. There is no colour anywhere except the analogue clock hands on the locks reen.

The Wind Down option turns your screen into grey scales. Maybe this option is turned on? It is in Settings - Digital Wellbeing.

That solved the issue, many thanks. The update must have switched this off.

These devices are too complicated for their own good.
Hi Guys, if this is the wrong place to post this tread please move it where should be.
As per the subject, I'm finding the auto brightness on Xiaomi 12T too dark and also it seems that the reading mode is setup by default despite being on or off: the font of some android applications is yellow, not white.
I had Mi 9T Pro and auto brightness worked flawlessly, how is possible that on a modern device with the latest ROM is not?
I have tried already all the workaround: light mode and dark mode selected, toggled off the adjust wallpaper to dark mode, and adjusted text and background automatically, yet the auto brightness is too low and pretty useless.
ok I found out that is not reading mode but the color accent that depends on wallpaper. I have put a sunset as wallpaper and the colour accent is pink and orange pastel. I didn't have this "issue" with Mi 9, it's incredible that the updates remove some functionality instead to add more...
