H96 Max - adb can't connect - Android Stick & Console Computers General

I need to connect to this tv box through adb, but adb doesn't even detect it. I'm using Ubuntu on a laptop.
USB debugging is allowed in developer options, the connection type is either file transfer or charging, trying to select any other mode (picture/image transfer) doesn't work, it goes into charging mode.
I tried using only WiFi, nothing. Tried connecting the box by USB to the laptop, nothing. Tried plugging in an ethernet cable from the laptop to the box, laptop can't get a connection going.
Has anyone managed to do it?

If you have windows on your laptop, try using MyPhoneExplorer and connect to MyPhoneExplorer Client on H96.

Greetings!
I had this issue as well, keeping track of it via Device Manager on the PC. Sometimes, it says it's the Model #, other times (depending on if you're recovering, adb debugging) it will say is "ADB Interface". I'm in need of recovery and refresh for mine, which is how I figured this part out. It's not much, but open your Device Manager on your PC before plugging it in via the 2nd USB2.0 down on the tablet. Watch it. If on the Windows side, it should pick it up as a media device or the device model number. On the Android side, if USB Debugging is on (which mine already is, thanks to the last person who had it -- I bought it from Amazon.), the charging should show up on-screen, and the Device Manager (USB Device, last one down) should see it.
I hope this little bit helped.

Asus Z380KL Cant switch to MTP

Hello first sorry for my bad english, second i just got an older Asus Z380KL (runing Android 6.0.1 latest update from Asus) and its working fine for the most part. I just cant connect it to my PC (Windows 7/10) using USB. When i plug it in to my PC in device manager i dont see any new device but the Tablet is charging.
The tablet is in charging mode and i cant switch it to MTP. In Setting>Storage there is no option to change the USB mode, i dont get any notification in the pull down bar, in Developer menu i enabled USB debuging and tested the option to switch the USB configuration but if i change to MTP,PTP or RNDIS it always says Charging. I know the USB connector on the tablet is OK just tested my OTG cable and connected a mouse and it was working. Also i used 5 diferent USB cables that work when i try whit my Phone. Also tested all my USB2 and USB3 ports on my PC and laptop.
If anyone can help i wold be very grateful
Edit: Just tried it on Ubuntu 16.04 Live and MTP is working fine, Tablet connects i get the popup in the status bat saying i can pick if i want charging, MTP or PTP but on Windows 7/10 i cant get it to work its always in charging mode and i cant change it.

Connecting to a Vehicle USB MTP

I've always had issues connecting to vehicles with my Sony Z5 via USB.
I connect the cable I get the prompt and I select Transfer Files. MTP.
The phone will kick into MTP for less then a sec but as the vehicle is trying to establish the connection the Phone will kick back to Charge Only and the prompt comes up to select the USB connected mode again.
If the Phone is trying to use a APP with that connection to the vehicle that app will crash since the connection is no longer established.
I have tried different combinations of settings in the Developers Options like Select USB Config. USB debug on and off. And nothing seams to work.
Is anyone out there having any success using the USB in their vehicle to connect to their stereo and not just for charging.
Also I did check with the Vehicle and it does communicate over MTP. I was able to get this to with with a old Samsung Galaxy S4 with my Jaguar F-Pace.

Computer will not detect tablet!!!

When I plug in my Nvidia Shield K1 into my computer it only charges.....
My old K1 was recognised by my computer immediately before so I don't know why this one won't work?
Please note these things.
1. I have tried a different cable and connector
2. It was purchased second hand and bootloader is already unlocked with TWRP installed.
3. Have installed all necessary drivers on computer
4. Have put tablet into developers mode
5. Have selected MTP on developer options
6. Nothing shows up in device manager
Have you tried with another PC?
Any notification on the Shield, that it has been connected by USB? And if so, select MTP (selecting MTP in Developer's Options doesn't always work on some devices).
You tried other USB ports on the PC? You said you tried another cable and "connector", so maybe by "connector" you mean the USB port on the PC? Also, don't use a hub, connect directly to the USB port on the PC.
If none of this work, and never did on this 2nd hands device, you may have a damaged USB port on the Shield.
Try going to Developer options - Revoke USB debugging authorizations. That has worked for me in the past. I would doing it with the USB disconnected then reconnect.

Debug app using ADB over usb on an Android-x86 laptop

I managed to set a nicely working Android-x86 on my laptop,
I was initially hoping to use adb with it just as I am doing with real phones, via USB. So I plugged in a dedicated USB male-to-male cable and... nothing happened. Turns out Android-x86 doesn't support connection via USB cable.
Is there an idea?
