I am still waiting for my 12s ultra to come, but I am suspecting the same as my mi 11 ultra. Xiaomi.eu rom will remove 5g restrictions so I get 5G on it, however it is not t-mobiles 5G UC which is much faster than the 5G NSA

The missing bands are not due to the software but to the hardware (modem).
The Xiaomi eu roms remove 5GHz(wifi) region restrictions not 5G.
For phones for the global market with their equivalent in China, if you flash the global rom on the Chinese version the missing bands will still be missing and if you do the opposite you will have the same bands as on the global version.

Update, Well I got excited today for about 5 minutes. I tried a PureTalk sim in my 12S and bang it showed a 5G connection. PureTalk in the USA is a MVNO for ATT. ATT shows 3 5G bands that are supported on the 12S.
Unfortunately I ran a few speed tests and was only getting about 50-60mbs download speed ugh... Worse speeds then I was getting with T-Mobile LTE...

PureTalk use N5 (850MHz), N77 (3.7GHz),N260 (39GHz) but you were surely on a N5 which emit far enough unlike the others.

So being on N5 does that explain the slower speeds ? Is there anyway to tell which band I am connected to?

The N5 is far-reaching but does not offer higher throughput than 4g or 4g+.
You will find on the play store (I don't remember the name).
In France the B700 5g +/- 60mbs, 4g +/- 120mbs ,5G 3500 +/- 300mbs****
****Provided you are less than 1km from the antenna.
Note that MVNO often provide the least.
5G 3,5 GHz

So for another test I took out the Puretalk sim and put it in my iPhone 13Pro, and what do you know triple the DL speed on 5G then on the 12s. So I would assume that the iPhone supports more 5g frequencies then the 12s?

Thanks that's what I thought. Oh well so much for "true" 5g support in the USA... Kind of bummed about this. I finally unlocked my 12s installed the .eu rom which at least for me transforms the phone into something quite usable now. i.e Android Auto, much better integration with google services... Basically just works now..

forgot to ask in the USA which 4G carries would have the best service / speed

only LTE in USA on google fi (which uses t-mobile) but download speed seems twice as fast as i was getting on the mi 11 ultra, i usually get about 600/50 on devices with 5G in my area. I really don't have a need for that much speed on my phones.

LTE Bands for International Version

I've been trying to find the LTE bands for the International/European version of the S6/edge for a couple weeks now but have had no luck with any sites I trust. I was able to come across this site: http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&...g925f_galaxy_s6_edge_lte-a_128gb_samsung_zero
Does anyone know how accurate this site is or know of where I might be able to find trustworthy specs?
Also interested in this. I might get an international version, but want to know if it will work here on the US on the AT&T network
Sent from my SM-G900T
Interested as well, if the international version supports ATT Lte that would be awesome

It means the phone(s) should work on both AT&T and T-Mobile. AT&T uses bands 2, 4, and 17. T-Mobile uses 2, 4, and 12. The International version supposedly supports 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 18, 19, 20, 26.

Where there are cell towers that are broadcasting using bands 12 or 17, you will not be able to get LTE coverage, but you will be able to get coverages for towers broadcasting on bands 2 and 4. Your real world coverage will depend on where you live and how each carrier has decided to configure their networks, but you will be able to have LTE for both.
[edit] Both 12 and 17 are 700mhz frequencies, which means that indoor coverage will not be as good if you don't have those frequencies. So that's a trade-off you might want to think about before going with the International version. Though for the most part, many people will have access to a wi-fi network while at work and at home, which I assume would be where most people would be for most of their day.
From what I've been reading, WiFi calling/texting features only work if you buy a T-Mobile specific device. Any other phones used on T-Mobile won't work with WiFi calling/texting features. That alone is the reason I would not buy an international phone and use it on T-Mobile.

Hi guys,
I have noticed that the verison I can purchase in France is the SM-G920FZ-02. Is it the same thing as the SM-G920F ?
I am unable to find the LTE bands for this version...
If it is not the case, I guess i could just get the SM-G920F from another country ? I've seen it on the UK version of the Samsung website.
I'm travelling a lot between Europe and the US so it's one of my main concerns but apparently Samsung doesn't give too much information on this yet!
FCC filing show the international model will support LTE band 2, 4, 12 among others: https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/repo...ame=N&application_id=794688&fcc_id=A3LSMG920F
Based on the info so far in this thread , it would seem like a safe conclusion that the 920F international version would indeed work fine on the AT&T LTE network
So does it support 12 and 17?? I'd be interested in getting the international for ATT. Just not sure what will and won't work

Band 17 is a subband of 12 (12 is the larger scope that includes 17 in it). The S6 920F support band 12 so it should work on AT&T just fine.
Bands 4 and 2 which are also used by AT&T are also supported according to the FCC documents so i assume the international model 920F should work just fine.
I can't be sure the same about other 920X models out there.
Does anyone know the difference between the 920F and the 9200?

Samsung I9200 is the Galaxy Mega. Is that what you're referring to?
I realised that there are commonly 2 available international versions, SM-920F (European?) and SM-920I (Rest of the world?). Wondering if anyone has the LTE specifications for the SM-920I version?
Edit (4 April): Found the answer to my own question at the Singapore Samsung website (under Specifications). So LTE Bands 1,2,3,5,7,8,12,17,18,19,26,28. No Band 4 though. I'm guessing that would greatly degrade the LTE experience with AT&T and T-Mobile?
4G+ LTE Cat 6 up to 300Mbps, VoLTE, 4G+ LTE FDD [Band 1 (2100MHz)/ Band 2 (1900MHz)/ Band 3 (1800MHz)/ Band 5 (850MHz)/ Band 7 (2600MHz)/ Band 8 (900MHz)/ Band 12 (700MHz)/ Band 17 (700MHz)/ Band 18 (800MHz)/ Band 19 (800MHz)/ Band 26 (800MHz) Band 28 (700MHz)], 4G+ LTE TDD [Band 40 (2300MHz)]

Edit (8 April): Interestingly, the Australian Samsung website for the same model (SM-G920I) shows that Band 4 is supported. I'm totally confused now as to whether this particular model supports LTE Band 4.
4G FDD LTE B1(2100), B2(1900), B3(1800), B4(AWS), B5(850), B7(2600), B8(900), B12(700), B17(700), B18(800), B19(800), B26(800), B28(700)

T-mobile 5G and unlocked Note 20 ultra

Hello there!
So anyone with a Note 20 unlocked variant and T-mobile service can confirm what does it say under settings, About phone, Status, Sim card Status and mobile network ? Mine says LTE but at the top says 5g and I know how carriers like to show off "fake5g" so I'm just curious if thats how the phone is or maybe I need a new sim or something.
I like about 10 mins from downtown Atlanta and I know T-mobile is really strong here so I'm not sure about 5G yet.

Here's mine, I'm not using 5G as it's a battery hog.
You are actually getting 5G with T-Mo. Do a speedtest with both. In Santa Clarita my 5G is twice as fast as 4G, and Speedtest.net reports it as 5G.

I did a speed test at home where I usually get 13-17 Mbps on LTE, on 5G the single test I ran got 65Mbps. It can be turned on and off as needed around the house. At home I use wifi mostly as it's 120Mbps and doesn't eat the battery as fast as 5G did.
I have Metro which is Tmobile and I'm getting 5g. Speed test app shows it as 5g also.
Edit: Factory Unlocked N20Ultra U1.

My 5G is like 12Mbps and my 4G is about 60Mbps. It's unfortunate! I can't wait for 5G to get better. In a nearby town, I got 142Mbps!
My 5G changes daily from 8 to 140 depends on the time of day in the same area. 5G on tmobile is also their home internet service. In my area outside Atlantic City is always being worked on by sub contractors working on all three carriers. The old building I use to run which is 7 stories had antennas changed before they could rust from weather. Technology is moving as fast as the weather.

Question 5g connection

Is someone getting 5g with T-Mobile?
I live in the suburbs of a large Texas city. There's 5G coverage at my house and when I drive around the area. I don't get out a lot these days, but it's mostly 5G with a few pockets of LTE. I haven't done a lot of speed testing, but it has shown to be faster than LTE when the 5G signal is strong.
You make feel better because I thought that the phone 5g doesn't work in the states but must be that Oregon infrastructure is not quite as good yet

Notes: I have the US version of the phone. Measuring on Google Maps, I'm approx 675 ft from the cell tower. All three speed results are from the same tower (used the CellMapper app to verify), and same SIM card, with the 5G and LTE+ speed results from the Sony Xperia 5 III and the 4G speed result from an Asus Zenfone 4 ZE554KL I was upgrading from. In order to get LTE+ on the Sony, I forced the "LTE/WCDMA/GSM" setting.

There's an interesting [web app](https://www.nperf.com/en/map/US/-/85.T-Mobile-inc-Sprint/signal/?ll=45.50249699389715&lg=-122.71728515625001&zoom=9) I found trying to answer this question in Ontario. It shows experimentally gathered hyperlocal data about where within cities different speeds were measured on different providers... I don't know how trustworthy the data is for sure but it seems to suggest 5g coverage often varies wildly within a single city currently.

I bought mine direct from electronics dot sony dot com. They have the green color that Amazon does not carry and they keep doing steep sales. As of this second it is $100 off.
I highly recommend using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cz.mroczis.netmonster to show what kind of 5G you are connecting to. For example, my S22 Ultra typically does either SA 5G 600MHz (not supported by Sony) or NSA 5G over 1900MHz.

According to T-Mobile frequency bands page: "Frequencies that can provide XR 5G:
Band n71 (600 MHz)".
According to Sony's website, Xperia 5 III specifications page: "5G Band
n1, n2, n3, n5, n7, n8, n20, n28, n38, n40, n41, n66, n71, n77, n78".
So by the specs, the phone should be able to handle n71 just fine.
What about in reality? Well, the tower near my house has band n71, and my US Xperia 5 III (Android 12) was just connected to it. I took a cellmapper screenshot, attached.
In summary: 5G 600MHz works fine on US Xperia 5 III.

NSA isn't SA.

LTE is 4G,so, if you're seeing LTE in your status bar, you're likely getting 4G on your phone?
Have you tried a speed test?

If you bought this as a new phone & it was/is an unlocked USA model, it probably had XAA firmware.
Which 4G & 5G Bands does your carrier use?

i think it came with SM-s908U firmware , now i have flashed it with sm-s908U1 firmware (not sure am i suppose to do that too) , i have tried css:ATC and css:XAA , nothing much has changed.
My carrier 4g bands are
1 (2100 MHz)
3 (1800 MHz)
7 (2600 MHz)
5g is very limited here so i will concentrate in 4g solution for now

I'm stumped as to why your speeds are slow, they're all covered with the hardware & the XAA firmware should work.

Question Can the CN Xiaomi 13 be fully support by T-Mobile in the US?

Hi everyone!
I'm considering buying a Xiaomi 13 while I'm still in China and flashing the Xiaomi eu ROM. The CN version is much cheaper than the global one. I'm a T-Mobile customer and wondering if anyone has used a CN Xiaomi 13 in the US before? I've heard that sometimes the CN version Xiaomi phone may have issues to fully use 5g or 4g network in the US. Please share your experience here, and thank you for your time!
T Mobiles
Cn 5g 1/4 bands 4g 2/6 bands
Global. 5g 2/4 Bands 4g 5/6 bands
Spoiler: CN

yeah, i am trying to delet it but in "edit" section there is no delete otion...
I came across something interesting. This website actually compares the band coverage difference between the CN and the global version. It seems the CN ones normally get lower coverage, but I still have no idea how bad it could be since I have no idea what type of bands are covering my living area...

Thank you man!
I'm also in the US using Google Fi which uses T-Mobile. I'm also dual SIM with ATT.
I ended up getting the Global version because it had more supported bands even though it was more expensive... Ended up getting the 12/256 for $860 on eBay.

Aloha,
Wonder if you can help? I purchased a 13 pro and having a hard time connecting to T-Mobile service. I have been working with tech support and I'm unable to make and receive phone calls. When I try to make calls the service drops. Im able to use data (internet) but unable to use the basic phone functions. Could you please let me know the apn settings that your using or have any suggestions on how I can get this service to work? I'm in the US.

Here you go.
Mahalo for you quick response. So you default is the epc I would assume. Let me try. Did you do any other tweeking to the apns? My other question would be is the sim with the att getting the service and not the T-Mobile? Have you tried with just the T-Mobile sim?
Did you ever get this squared away ? I am looking to buy the 13 pro within the next day or 2

The CN versions should function, though you'll likely experience signal outages due to only having a few of the frequencies. If you're looking to use the 13 in the USA, then the global version is what you'll be better off with.
I have a CN version phone and MintMobile (reseller of T-Mobile) SIM. It works fine. Plug & play. No special setting needed.
