For anyone still using this phone in 2022, you're in luck!
I did a little digging around and finally found a Moto Camera port that not only 100% works with the ZenFone 3 but also delivers the full 16MP resolution.

i need a fully working note 3 camera for marshmallow with slow motion, surround shot, UHD ....and all the other great features we used to enjoy on lollipop since it is the cam with best quality and compatibility
if it doesn't exist yet, please suggest some good replacements as i'm using a ported S7E ROM which basically uses the S7E camera (not fully compatible with our i9506 and quality is not that good )
Here are some of the apps i found compatible with marshmallow (note4 and s6 cam) but they lack a lot of features unfortunately... it would be great if any one could check them maybe he can add the missing mods : https://mega.nz/#!GUlkUJQK!XEZFIFTd3NLq29_UobBlvWT3UEI272Tj9j3dvLbsKQ4
I agree that note 3 camera fits the s4 advance I did I test hope someone can port it to be used in our device
Try of "AuroraROM" at Note 4 port if "Lollipop 5.0.1": Ultra HD and 60FPS at 1080p could be works but Slow Motion doesn't be works anyway. (Try to Xperia Z1C if be want of Slow Motion at 120FPS)
Hello guys,
Have anyone tried google camera on the Z4? Any successful results?
Edit again. Since we have same sensor (Samsung GM1), we can use gcam developed for Redmi Note 7. I found Bulkin043's pretty good. Here is the link to his telegram: https://t.me/s/googlecamera_mod

Edit, the sensor used on this device is Samsung GM1. So the Gcam mentioned below is not a good fit. Thus, explaining the crashes.

I have been using ports from Arnova8G2 and configs for Asus Zenfone 6 since it has the same main camera sensor IMX586. The port can take good pictures however both portrait and slow-mo mode fail to work. You can find the link to the port here:

Why? mi 9t, mi 9t pro, k20, k20 pro all have IMX586 whereas we have GM1.

Yeah just realized it doesn't play well with Night Sight.
After testing version all day, this is by far the best and most stable one for our device, it's 95% perfect.

Portrait mode works, night sight works, 60fps video works, everything seems perfecto.

Thanks for the link. I have downloaded and tested your apk in different ways. I do not see any improvement over the stock camera in terms of feature and quality. For even Portrait and Night mode the stock camera performed better than google cam. I think I will stop looking for custom camera and stick with the stock version.

Lol there's a huge difference in night sight. Even front facing portrait mode is way better. Back camera portrait mode is good enough on stock.
I got this phone last week and I am very surprised to find that there is no working gcam port for our beloved u12+, the versions that work have so many bugs with 30 sec delays and hit and miss photos/green hazes etc. I always go back to stock camera app which is good but way less than a proper gcam would perform.
For one, it is the FLAGSHIP phone of HTC and has excellent camera hardware with the ultrapixel tech and dual back and front cameras. Please devs, anyone here can you please make a working gcam port for u12+, will appreciate it a lot. I mean there are 100's of ports for even cheap devices with cheap hardware. Then why not for u12+??? even there is no single custom rom page on xda
Thanks!
I'm waiting for a port of the new GCam 7.0. We might then be allowed to use the telephoto camera with it, I hope.
Hi everyone, all I really care about in a phone is a snappy camera with good image quality. So anyone care to share full size samples (16mp) from main stock camera app and gcam for comparison? Thanks!
If I can get this phone one day, then I'll do it, but Motorola tries his best to make sure I never get one (the phone isn't available in my country, though I found a website which provides a mailing address in an other country, I ordered the phone to that location, so they'd send it to me, but Motorola figured this out and they want the phone back...hillarious...).
Finally got this amazing beauty.
Here you go with a Moto Camera vs. Google Camera comparison: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/11kv4tG4KJ_fXYbEdfIiNWLKHTrj3mdSp.
EDIT: Night photos were added to the link above!
What is the camera sensor used
Is it possible to know the sensor used in this phone? Is it Sony IMX686 or Samsung GW1

It's the Samsung GW1. It takes 16 MP by default, but you can also take full resolution 64 MP photos.
The 8MP ultrawide is another Samsung: S5K4H7.
The selfie cam is an Omnivision 32 MP, OV32A. It takes 8 MP photos by default, but you can take 32 MP photos too.
I was able to get some examples of photographs from a reviewer.

Hi all
Here is the fact
Coming from a realme X2 pro, where selfie quality was insanely good.
But I clearly can't get that quality level with GT Neo 3
Main photo from the back is very good, but selfie quality is blurry and not detailed as hell
Is it the same for you ? What can I do to improve it ?
I tried google cam 8.4 for comparison, but it does not work, instant crash when taking photos.

I'm using MGC 8.3.252_v0e which is older version of 8.3.252_v0g. Since 8.3.252_v0e is working perfectly fine i haven't tested any other versions. My guess is that the updated versions should work too. Just in case they don't you could grab the MGC 8.3.252_v0e from here. Do keep your backup because this is personal folder and link will be removed later on
*Use pixel 4 or newer camera setup. It will take little more time to load the camera device but it is 100% working. Even night mode is working. Even the star photo mode is working.
