Here I made a video of the stock Lollipop update for the N9005 showing how the camera has a lag compared to the one on stock 4.4.2
I the video the N9005 camera is compared with the camera of an S3 Neo.
Would like to know why the camera is working like this.
Both cameras are on auto in a closed environment under artificial light.

Hi all, I'm considering the S6 or the Note 5 but mostly on camera features. I absolutely love the manual shutter speed option (up to 10 secs) on the Note 5 but if it's something that can be ported to the S6 I'll go with the S6 since it's cheaper and has enough features for me. After all they're using the same camera hardware so the features should be software-related only. Any thoughts?
Look out for the Note 5 Port in the develoment section. They ported the Note 5 Rom to the S6. Though Camera anf Fingerprint is buggy.
Since the SoC and camera (?) is the same and software is similar, there isa very high change it can be (and will be) ported.
Thanks, I thought so. The problem is that Open Camera with the S6's newest update still only allow up to 1/1.2 sec of shutter speed, wondering how can a port enable up to 10 secs. Could it be that the cameras are different? :crying::crying:
Hi,
How would you compare camera in Mi4c vs Galaxy s4 ? Is there any one who moved from s4 to Mi4c ? I have browsed all pages with pictures and comparison tools however cannot find real user experience. I am currently using sgs4 and camera is enough for me, however with new phone I would like to get a bit more Will I get it with Mi4C ?
Thanks
If I were in your place, I'd wait for mi5. S4 ain't a bad device
The only thing i liked about the S4 was the screen. The camera takes blurry shots 4/5 times and it lagged to no end. The Mi4c is worlds above it.
I had i9505 2 months ago I sold It and bought mi4c I think mi4c has a better camera as compared to s4 and if we talk about features of camera mi4c has awesome manual mode which s4 lacks
I agree with ermacwins. You should wait a little for mi5
hey, as far as camera is concerned the mi4c is miles ahead of the s4 (and it should be, actually, it's a flagship two years ahead !) i wasn't a sg4 owner but i have used it a lot and i'm also a previous xperia z owner (both share the same imx135 sensor) and i can safely suggest the mi4c as a camera update over the sg4. however if you are very interested in night photography mi4/mi note will suit you better (and of course mi5).
mi4c's imx258 is way ahead of s4, IMO the worst thing about mi4c's camera is the MIUI camera app itself - you've got plenty of options, but in worse light conditions it ruins 9 of 10 taken photos - a much simpler google camera takes much better pictures as it uses better exposure parameters and doesn't try to wipe out the higher ISO noise along with all the detail left
and yes, wait for the mi5 to appear - the mi4c price will drop making it even better buy
Hi, I come from a family of S4 owners but used a LG G2 instead.
The Mi4C takes much better pictures than the S4 (main reason being its fast PDAF focus). The processing is mature, it capures much more light in the same conditions as well and shutter lag is much less. Like the other people here, I advise you to wait for the Mi 5 release, but here are some pictures I took with my Mi 4c:

I remember reading your comments on the xda portal camera related on cm roms. If you havent tried cm13, try it now because it has a new snapdragon camera and it rivals the miui stock camera.

actually the miui app has proper manual controls and the g. camera has not. but yes, in auto mode your night shots come out both blurry and full of noise. (who makes the software? the camera picks 1/12 s.s. and 3000 iso ! tons of noise and shake too ! )

I'm on Team Superluminal's CM13. I'll definitely look into it. The stock camera of CM13 is horrible, it doesn't even support PDAF. At the moment I have to restore a MiUI build when I know I'm going to spend the day taking pictures, and revert back to CM13 afterwards. Thank you for letting me know, camera quality is the one thing that bugs me on AOSP.

Are you on the latest build because it was added with the ROM. I'm on a older build and had to flash the camera. There was some flickering but apparently fixed.
I've recently bought s7 (G930F) off eBay (upgrade from s4), flashed LineageOS and was shocked with poor camera performance vs stock TouchWiz one. I've tried some cameras from Play with no improvement, ended up flashing HTC Camera replacement floating around but it's got 2 issues as far as I can tell: can't use my sdxc card and its quality is still subpar to stock. I've been running AOSP on my devices for a long time so it's not the app - itcs the resulting images that are very grainy and blury.
Any advise/ideas on how to address camera issues on s7 in AOSP?
You have to use the stock camera app & touchwiz ROM for full camera quality, the drivers and framework required to drive the camera properly are only in the stock camera app which only runs on TouchWiz ROMs
You will never get full quality on AOSP ROMs no matter which camera app you use, it must be the stock Samsung camera app
Hello Dear all .I hope you all are doing well .I bought Samsung galaxy S7 SM-G930FD 32GB Exynos Version 10 days ago , i really like to shoot videos and as S7 has dual pixel i bought it . After using it for some days i realized that dual pixel doesn't works 1080p 60 fps video recording but works fine in all other resolutions like HD,FHD,2K,4K , as all shoots at 30 fps the dual pixel works fine in them. I've sent feedback via Samsung member app and attached both 30fps and 60 fps videos for comparison but now 5 days have passed and no repsonse from their side
I am from India .If anyone is using Custom Rom than please check if dual pixel working in 60fps video recording mode.
Does any one of you facing the same problem ? Anyone have solution than please comment down , i shall be very thankful to you .
