Question Very bad selfie photo quality - Realme GT Neo 3

Hi all
Here is the fact
Coming from a realme X2 pro, where selfie quality was insanely good.
But I clearly can't get that quality level with GT Neo 3
Main photo from the back is very good, but selfie quality is blurry and not detailed as hell
Is it the same for you ? What can I do to improve it ?
I tried google cam 8.4 for comparison, but it does not work, instant crash when taking photos.

I'm using MGC 8.3.252_v0e which is older version of 8.3.252_v0g. Since 8.3.252_v0e is working perfectly fine i haven't tested any other versions. My guess is that the updated versions should work too. Just in case they don't you could grab the MGC 8.3.252_v0e from here. Do keep your backup because this is personal folder and link will be removed later on
*Use pixel 4 or newer camera setup. It will take little more time to load the camera device but it is 100% working. Even night mode is working. Even the star photo mode is working.

Gcam for redmi note 6 pro?

is there any gcam for redmi note 6 pro?
Hi, I've tried many different versions of GCam but this is the only one with a low level of noise (expecially in low light zones):
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/changelog288/
It works perfectly, except for slow motion. Please set Nexus 6p as input model for front camera to avoid colour problems
With Experience Pixel rom, it works pretty well, the slow motion works.
I disabled HDR + and remove motion.
Night Sight works, slow motion works.
Must put in input model "Front camera Nexus 6P" because if no there are color problems.

I'm using it and it surely is far superior in my opinion in terms of the image quality. Regarding using the app itself is not such a pleasant experience i.e. the app is subject to FCs and sometimes the photos don't get saved on MIUI 10. However, there are quite a few apks out there and you can choose which works for you the best
Does gcam work on miui?
Specially night shots.
Is there any cam app that can take those night mode shots? Like the photos in honor 6x for example?

Best Camera for RNote 7

I've found a lot of topics but none discuss in fact wich is the best camera app for Redmi Note 7 (Global Version).
I love the camera lens, but the stock camera app not so much... Wich one you thing is the best camera app ever for Redmi Note 7 Pro?
Paid, Ported, Free,...
I'm also very interested in this.
I've never installed a different camera app to a phone before, but the default app doesn't seem very good, and if there's better to be had I want it.
I constantly hear praise for Gcam, but it sounds like there's many different ports of it and no real clear answer on which one works the best.
Bumping this question, and ignoring the fact that the OP is talking about lavender and not violet, but are there any good Camera apps for the RN7P yet?
I've got the China RN7P and i've flashed crDroid onto it, but now that i'm looking into it, i'm having trouble finding a good working cam.
All of the Gcam ports i've tried have failed to recognize the 48MP rear camera, and completely hides the "Gcam settings" option so I can't even re-balance the terrible saturation.
I've also tried crDroid's default camera and Open Camera from the play store, both of which also didn't let the rear camera go above 12MP, and the pictures they took didn't stand up to what even the 12MP Gcams took (minus ruined saturation).
So is there anyway to get Gcam with 48MP and functional settings working on a custom rom, or is there any third party camera app that can recognise the 48MP on a custom rom and get close to Gcam's quality?
and if no to both of those, any idea how long it might take for a working 48MP camera to be working on a custom rom'd RN7P?

Excuse the messy living room pictures, and the fact that they're rotated despite being upright on my pc
but there's no difference at all, even in the properties of the images.
Pretty much same image quality, exact same resolution, and the settings still only says 12MP without an option for 48MP.
The first image is from 'camera' and the second image is from 'portrait' (which for some reason always takes pictures in burst mode).
Also I don't really know what level of quality I should be getting from the RN7P's camera, but I get the feeling they shouldn't be this visibly blurred and noisy.

I own the Chinese Redmi Note 7 Pro (Violet)
Back when I was on MIUI 10, the MIUI camera app did recognize the 48MP camera, so it does have it.
Unless I somehow got sent the Indian version instead, in which case, i'd be pretty upset because it also has worse bands for my country too.

I tried both the xtreme and fu24 versions of gcam posted here in the Mi 9 forums, but both of them still only let me go up to 12MP in the settings.
The xtreme version took identical pictures in both 'camera' and 'portrait' mode just like the other gcams I've tried, and the fu24 version refused to even take a picture in 'portrait' mode.
Use Gcam 6.1 And Click Photo in Portrait Mode after Select Photo without Blur in Gallery.

It's a bit hard to tell if pro mode is actually taking 48MP pics with the current bug that puts out small resolution images, but hopefully that should be fixed soon.

Hey can you try the Gcam 6.1.021 Note7pro
I can't post the download link because I'm a New member sorry. ?
You have to use portrait mode to get full 48MP photos.
Also to get the best possible results increase the saturation to 1.6 in settings and in Gcam settings enable HDR+ for portrait mode and disable Zoom in portrait mode to avoid the crop that Gcam has on it's photos.

I appreciate you trying to help, but I've tried 3 different ports of Gcam 6.1.021 and one port of Gcam 6.2.something
Even in portrait mode, the pictures it takes aren't 48MP, I've even posted examples in this thread.
No matter which port I used, what settings I changed or what mode I used, all the pictures came out the same.
12MP, and a resolution of 4000x3000

Just a thought here because I might be wrong but could gcam only be finding 12mp because of the pixel binning? Essentially, from what I've read and seen the sensor combines 4x 12mp to create the 48mp. I'm running the rn7 myself and see no difference between 12mp and 48mp in pro mode apart from being able to zoom slightly more on the higher mp shot.

Actually, the main camera sensor is a real Sony IMX586 48MP. The reason you don't see any difference between 12MP and 48MP is because both the photos are coming from a same sensor. It's just that the former one is pixel binned to decrease photo size and capture more light.
I believe True 48 MP mode can only be accessed using proper camera libs. Otherwise you can only get the 12 MP Mode

Google Camera for Z4?

Hello guys,
Have anyone tried google camera on the Z4? Any successful results?
Edit again. Since we have same sensor (Samsung GM1), we can use gcam developed for Redmi Note 7. I found Bulkin043's pretty good. Here is the link to his telegram: https://t.me/s/googlecamera_mod

Edit, the sensor used on this device is Samsung GM1. So the Gcam mentioned below is not a good fit. Thus, explaining the crashes.

I have been using ports from Arnova8G2 and configs for Asus Zenfone 6 since it has the same main camera sensor IMX586. The port can take good pictures however both portrait and slow-mo mode fail to work. You can find the link to the port here:

Thanks for the link. I have downloaded and tested your apk in different ways. I do not see any improvement over the stock camera in terms of feature and quality. For even Portrait and Night mode the stock camera performed better than google cam. I think I will stop looking for custom camera and stick with the stock version.

Question Photo quality without the stock rom camera app

Hi all,
my new OP 9 Pro Phone is a direct import from China (LE 2021) and I instantly flashed LineageOS 18.1 on it. Everything worked fine - but I'm disappointed by the Photo quality taken by the free camera apps like OpenCamera or ProCamX. The resolution ends up with 12 MP and the sharpness is rather bad an I can only use teh main lens. Only if I switch on the face detection function the sjarpness is quite ok, but not what I expected from a flag ship phone. The best Camera App I detected so far is the Google Camera apk (I installed MGC_8.1.101_A9_GV1i_MGC.apk). But the sharpness of the fotos are still lousy to my mind. Any tipps how I can improve it ?
Thanks a lot !

Nope. I love my custom rom, but I miss the photo quality. Is there any other way to receive high quality photos without switching to stock ? I heard that crDroid is working on a it. Is any progress known ? Thanks in advance ...
Commenting on the same topic - hate stock ROMs - love stock OP9 camera... I would even pay someone to Port it...
Gcam with recommended profile not working well?
Nope, the focus doesn't work well, the camera flutters a lot after I pointed the area on the screen I want to set sharply. I guess that GCam is the reason for that since the focus works well with e.g. pixtica or ProCamX foto App. But for pixtica the resolution of the foto is worse due to max 12 MP. See also ...

Question Camera - good enough or need gcam?

Coming from pixel pro 6. Love the camera, hate the size of phone. Know I'm giving up some great features by going smaller but what are you early owners seeing with the camera? Anyone planning on finding a gcam ported to it? Heard someone ported google photos also so magic eraser would work.
Thoughts please why I impatiently wait on my phone to arrive.
Good enough. Definitely better than than my Flip 3
The 3 seemed to lack detail and colour for me.
I've been searching xda for the gphotos port with magic eraser, but nothing is coming up for non pixel devices... Let me know if you know where it is plz!
Samsung now has object eraser, works same, however you could try this: https://www.smartprix.com/bytes/how-to-get-pixel-magic-eraser-on-other-android-phones/

I took some Flip 4 pics today to see how it goes, the color rendering seems ok, decent photos in good light conditions. No overkill, just point & shoot camera - things we were expecting from this phone.
The camera on this phone is definitely no Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro; however, I think that should be a given when upgrading. I installed The Greatest GCam port and was impressed. The issue with the ports that I have found is that they don't mimic the new camera software on the Pixels. The one that was closest did something weird with my camera lens and made everything spherical looking.
Been using pixel since pixel 1, the camera is not as good as pixel's, even compared to a pixel 3 (2018).
The picture took by Samsung is more colorful than pixel, more colorful than real.
And the picture took at night is worse than pixel. Pixel's algorithm (night sight) is absolutely needed.
Is there any working G Cam port? Thank you.
Haven't found a gcam port that doesn't crash yet, but Adobe is working on a camera app that is suppose to have similar AI to Pixel, along with some other great stuff. Don't know when it will be released though
The camera is certainly a step up from last year's device but not quite flagship grade.
It excels in well-lit areas absent of any fast moving objects.
A working GCAM port might convince to me to reconsider it as a daily driver (as I literally have no other qualms with the device).

Tried the BSG camera port. The good news is that everything seems to work. The bad news is that I took a number of test comparison shots with the Samsung camera (both lenses, night mode, portrait mode). The Samsung photos were clearly superior each time. If nothing else, makes me feel good about the camera built into the phone.

Can you take the selfie using the front camera? I tried G Cam from all mods and non of them has a working front camera. You can preview from the front camera, but you can't save the image.
As for the "superior", it's just personal tastes. Many people like the raw and real feeling of the G cam. Samsung's camera is too "vivid", the sky is bluer and the trees are more green, FAKE. And often lost the details because of the color management. G Cam, just captures the real world most of time.

Sorry, I've already deleted G Cam, so I can't test the selfie cam. Didn't think to try it.
Came from S22U, so my experienceis not applicablefor everyone.
For sure, the camera is not like in that phone, especially I'm missing the telephoto one. Night shots are more messy and such.
On the other hand though, it's not that bad at all. Night shots are doing what it supposed to do, day photos are great.
In my mind, I can say that the cameras on Flip 4 gets "Decent +" mark
