Question How to enable ECG &Blood pressure monitor - Samsung Galaxy Watch 4

Hi All I need someone to help if you can simplify or explain it more the process that Dante63 used to transfer the SHM from S22 device to the watch4 as I am not able to complete properly the procedure. I only managed to download SHM on the phone.

Use wear installer 2 to simplify the process
Make sure both devices are on the same WiFi network
Enable wireless debugging on watch
Download both APKs. Phone for phone, watch for watch
Open up wear installer 2 on your phone and input your watch IP address and press done
Press custom APK and select watch APK
Press continue and install
Done

I tried it on and it's installed but shows error as it says that this phone app isn't for watch!!!
Any solution or do you have any APK that's working on Galaxy s22 phone that can be transferred to the watch4?

Select the watch APK not phone APK
Watch APK is about 12mb

What's the APK to be used?

Where can I download it

Is there an app to go forward in a Power Point Presentation

Hi, I use a Note 4 and a Note 5, Sometimes I conect with an HDMI cable to a projector to see power point presentations at work. I was wondering if there is an app for the gear S2 That allow me to "Click Forward" and leave my cell away and conected to the cable.
Thanks for your time to read this post.
Hey,
I've managed to get an app on my watch that can do this from previous Gear APPs, it was called Gear Remote however it doesnt show up in the app store for the Gear S2 but it does work for it (managed to install it via App Download history in the Samsung App Store) there may be a way to externally place it onto your S2 if it doesn't show up in your app store. Their website where you download the PC Application to work in partnership is here:
http://gearremote.blogspot.kr/
There was an application called PC Commander as well that use to work on the Gear Neo 2 but I've tried this with the S2 and I think the application is either broke or just wont work (it asks for a 4 digit registration code, pc one is in letters phone asks for number and theres no way around it)
Hope this helps!
Is the APK available somewhere?
An app to control PowerPoint would be nice. (come on devs )
how to transfer app sdk to gear s2 externally? any way other than using gear app to install apps in gear s2? please help.. thanks..

[Root] Temporary fix for Samsung Gear Devices (And probably other Samsung weareables)

This guide is a temporary fix for the connection problems with Samsung Wearables in Pie custom Rom ports from Note FE
Requirements:
Galaxy Wearable: Last version from Play Store is working
Samsung Gear S Plugin (Can you try with the apk for your device but it is important that the application version ends in "N". For example, the version of Gear S Plugin that worked for me is 2.2.03.19032541N). Versions ending in "N" as seen versions are used for phones that are not and do not have Samsung TouchWiz, Samsung experience or One UI Download here
Samsung Accessory service: Download here
AFWall+: Download here
Instructions:
Unistall Galaxy Wear apps (Galaxy Wearable, plugin, accessory service, SASystemProviders, etc).
Unlink device from bluetooth settings
Install the mentioned apps
Open Galaxy Wearable app, configure and link your device (If the device don't link and at stuck in "Finishing pairing", make a factory reset from settings in the watch and try again).
Once linked and configured, run the AFWall + app and configure how it is in the attached screenshot
Enjoy!

I've been trying to do this for a couple of hours but without success. What I noticed was that the Galaxy wearable is always updating the Gear Plug-in and that is probably the reason why the pairing fails. And if I block the internet access to the Galaxy wearable app while initiating the pairing then it refuses to pair... It's a vicious circle... Do you have any ideas how to circumvent this obstacle?

So why bother installing the application version ending in N if the Galaxy wearable overwrites it and installs the latest one and only then does the phone start the pairing - at least in my case... Or am I missing something?

So,the right steps are first run AF+ to block the wearable app and after that I should start the wearable app..is that correct?

The problem is that I can't finish the set-up/connection process... Bluetooth loses connection with the watch in the last step of the set-up.

Has anyone been successful connecting to a Galaxy Watch 46mm using this method?

Yes, I get it. But in my case, as I stated earlier, it updated itself even before it started pairing - and it happens every time. You just can't block internet access while connecting to the watch becasue it refuses to pair. And if you grant access to the internet then it updates itself...
Guys has anyone tried and succesfully paired Samsung Galaxy Watch? AFAIK the problem is with only the newer Watched (Active and Watch). So Gear S3 an others may work with this workaround but the newer ones dont.
For me it's worked on LightRom v8.

Ok, after 2 days without problem this morning i have rebooted my phone with watch connected and after reboot i opened gear manager and boooom notification of update is here :crying: , I repeated everything in the guide and I pair the watch, after that i found a little issue due to the timing of the reboot and afwall+ start, in this couple of second gear s plugin check internet before afwall start and the problem is half here again, half because gear can connect to phone but gear manager become unusable without the update of gear s plugin
A temporary fix is to disable in gear manager, gear plugin and Samsung accessory service background data and background usage and close everytime gear manager before a reboot, I try this three times and seems ok

Ok, I don't have the problem but I use the blackdiamond NFE rom and it works fine
I'm using BlackDiamond NFE V3 with Gear S3 Frontier and works great but with a procedure a little different mentioned by OP.
This is the way that worked for me:
1. Clear data from Galaxy Wearable and uninstall Galaxy Wear apps (Gear S plugin, accessory service, SASystemProviders, etc).
2. Unpair device from bluetooth settings.
3. Install the apps provided by OP.
4. Open AFWall+ (IMPORTANT: Second icon at the top corner -> "Block selected") and check the 3 boxes like the screenshot from OP. Apply and activate the firewall.
5. Open Galaxy Wearable app and follow the configuration.

FEATURES: Works on Samsung Watch4 and Watch5 (as mentioned Samsung WearOS Watches), Multilanguage, no root detection, no country restriction, no device restriction, age limit lowered from 22 to 16, no lock screen restriction, No Force update to latest version) for phone, as for the watch, removed country restriction and lowered age limit from 22 to 16, both apps have additional languages translated by me...

BP SYNC between SHM and SH: There is an Entire Section that explains it in detail, don't miss it if you want this to work...
About ECG in SH: ECG has never synced to Samsung Cloud, since the first release of SHM, the ECG tile is missing in Samsung Health with SHM WearOS but rest assured that the ECG tile of Samsung Health has no use other than being a shortcut to open SHM at ECG tab...

First I want to say to article authors, thank you for your efforts to publish an article on this, but please do not copy and paste into your article as content may change and please provide link to the thread so people can get help and ask questions...
Ok, now let's begin:
Tizen SHM MOD and WearOS SHM MOD...?
The watch4 original SHM can't communicate with the phone MOD, and it's not possible to completly remove the original SHM from the watch4, so I had to create WearOS MOD and rename the previous MOD to Tizen MOD...
Do I need root...?
No root is required...
Does this void my warranty?
No it does not void the warrenty or trip the know or damage the watch or the phone...
OTA effect on MOD & MOD effects on OTA.
No Effects, the MOD is independant...
Do I need to install both phone and watch MODs?
Yes, you need both, keep in mind, the apk with word phone is for phone and the watch4 is for the watch...
Where is the IP Address?
You can find it inside the developer options after you enable the ADB Wi-Fi, it takes time though, alternativly, you can go to connections -> wifi -> the wifi you are connected to -> scroll down and you'll find your IP...
Can I do this from my phone?
Yes, you can use my Geminiman WearOS Manager...
How do I update?
Just install the updated files I release and it will update, whether you install the phone app or the watch app...
Do I need Samsung Health MOD, is there even such thing...?
I do not encourge using Samsung Health MOD, Samsung Health is a core application, modding it will break many services, using official Samsung Health is safer and better...
What is BP Sync and is there an ECG Sync...?
BP or blood pressure data can be saved in Samsung Health Cloud, allowing you to view all of your BP to be seen on Samsung Health app and no, there is no ECG sync and never was, ECG can only be exported as PDF and Excel file...

~~~ Pairing issues with Watch4/5 on Galaxy Wearables (Watch4/5 not supported!) ~~~
Initially it was Huawei devices with Watch4 but this solution works for other devices as well as other Samsung WearOS watches...This fix is done by Reddit u/Relative_Comparison2 & u/MelodicMaintenanceSource:
https://www.reddit.com/r/WearOS/comments/p82h39/_/h9rpsob
You need Galaxy Wearables & Watch4/5 Plugin installed, now do the following steps:
Download Samsung Health.
start Samsung health then go to accessories and search for your watch (scan).
Samsung Health will call Galaxy Wearables to set up the connection and a normal setup is performed.
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Now here is an update of mine if the above does not work and Galaxy Wearables keeps disconnecting from the watch4
It was Explained that you need to have the following apps installed:
Galaxy Wearable & Watch 4/5 plug-inGive all permissions to Galaxy Wearables and the Watch4/5 plugin by going app info, scroll down, permission and grant all...Now Clear the data of the following applications:
Google Play Services
Google Play Framework
Google Play Store
HwWifiproBqeService (For Huawei devices only, skip if you are not Huawei)
The phone will start acting up, that's normal, so restart your phone to allow system app to rebuild itself, when the phone starts, do not configure your google account yet, first try connecting to the Watch4/5 again through Samsung Health and it should work, after that you can do whatever you want for google...
One last note, disable any battery optimization, some phones have aggressive optimization, they will kill background services, this will stop the watch4/5 from pairing, if you can't disable it, then whitelist galaxy wearble and the watch4/5 plugin!
New Zealand (NZ) & Mexico (MX) having BP & ECG enabled...
Some tweaks to BP layouts...
As for the functionality (Code), here is what I observed:
A lot of code cleaning (code removal or creating a function and calling it instead of repeating it)...
New countries visible in CSCUtil, New Zealand (NZ) & Mexico (MX), confirms BP and ECG support...
Method isMatchSavedSimAndNetworkISO was completely dropped...
accessories has a different logic to obtain name of the connected device...
Other than that, nothing significant...
PHOTOS HERE ARE OUTDATED, BUT THIS IS JUST TO SHOW YOU THE DIFFERENCE IN LOGO LOOK BETWEEN MOD AND STOCK SHM...These are photos from the Telegram group that members have done the tests:
The SHM MOD on the WearOS Watch Has an M Heartbeat as a logo to distinguish it from the Original SHM. Also, SHM MOD Widgets on the watch Have a Ring to make it very friendly to the eye...
Thank you for working on this! Will use it as soon as I get my watch
thanks for the mod
can't check the blood pressure, because I don't have enough to calibrate the watch, but ECG work fine, all tested with a rooted Xiaomi mi 9T pro and rom custom. thank's for the mod
You have pushed the wrong app to the watch, kindly remove the error so no one would be confused,
Because it is written instructions, people may mix up what to push to the watch...
Edited, yes, little confused for which file go for the phone, and witch one go for the watch, the tutorial doesn't say anything about the phone part, so, not easy for everyone ^^ '
Installed .169 on my watch via PC and App. Installed .153 on my phone and it does recognize the watch. But it still wants me to install SHM on my phone. I cant seem to get it to work right now.
Edit: Nvm, it works. You have to add the correct ECG and BP Widget from your smartwatch. I guess the original and modded version are installed at the same time.
Fixed it with the tutorial you provided, works like a charm. Tested only the ECG tho, because i don't have a blood pressure tester. Thank you for all of this work. This non-samsung user is very grateful
Hi, I cannot connect adb to the watch with the IP recorded on the watch. "adb connect IP:myIPwatch"
"Daemon started successfully" For that it's ok.
Must insert the complete IP for the Port? "192.168.1.21" or "192.168.1.21:5555" ?
Thanks
Thanks but It does not work.: "no host in '192.168.1.21:5555'"
My watch is on the same wifi as my pc. Should I use 2.4ghz or 5ghz wifi? or it doesn't matter.
Fantastic job!
I will receive the Watch 4 this week and one of the things that worried me was the limitations due to not having a Samsung mobile.
Again, Thank you very much!
Both should be on same bandwidth, the new watch supports 5Ghz... make sure both are connected to the same bandwidth...
I have renamed the phone app from watch4-minsdk24 bla bla bla.apk
To minsdk26 bla bla bla.apk
So now gets confused...
General Official Google Assistant For GW4 Available
Update your Galaxy Wear app and then go to Play Store on your GW4. Select My Apps and update Assistant. Then go to Watch Settings and set your default assistant app to Google Assistant. Thennnnn, you'll find the GA icon as a launchable app or you can set your press and hold button to Google Assistant to launch it that way and begin activation. Activation requires connection between your watch and phone to link GA. Activation will ask if you want to use personal results and voice match on your watch. Done.
GA can be launched using voice or hardware keys. To customize GA settings, Go into watch settings or Wear app on phone. Look for the Google settings (it has its own submenu) where your Google account info is located. There's a new setting available for GA there to customize Hey Google and other GA specific settings.
Turning off Hey Google significantly reduced battery drain I noticed. With the GW4, one day of battery life is the best we can hope for and that's not including sleep. If you want to make it throughout the day, you can have either Health sensors going off continuously or Hey Google on. Not both or you'll never make it. If you want to make it a whole day, including overnight, disable both.
Other battery saving tips:
-Turn off "Improve Accuracy" under watch location settings. It's worthless and burns battery.
-Turn off frequent syncing for samsung health steps data. Tap on steps on your phone. Tap 3 dots in top right corner. You'll see frequent syncing. Unless you actively track your steps religiously, this is an unnecessary battery burner. The level of accuracy you get without it is fine for most people.
-Turn off notifications on watch you don't care about. Every time a notification from your phone turns on your watch screen, you're burning battery. Indicidual Notifications can be turned off just for watch.
-Turn NFC off until you're ready to use it. The Google or Samsung Pay app will prompt you to turn it on so why leave it on all the time?
-If you don't actively use your tiles, get rid of them. Unnecessary battery burners.
-Make sure you limit location permissions. Very few Apps actually need location "All The Time".
-Turn off background app usage from Wear App on Phone.
-Make sure Mobile Network and WiFi are set to automatic. Biggest way to burn through those charges is with a mobile network you're not using actively.
-Turn on Mobile Battery Saver in Developer Options.
-Unless you actually use the quick launch gesture, turn it off.
-Turn off Customization Service. Another worthless Samsung Spyware Tracker that offers nothing of value other than selling your personal information for ad relevance.
I read that Google assistant is out only in selected markets. Any way to load it in other regions?
Good grief! They just released it...give it a few days!
I will also add that you can change the "system assistant app" on the default apps from bixby to GAssistant also to let it access the the screen text (same permission has in the phone).
My country (Portugal) is not in the markets selected but I had the update waiting on the store and have it working.
Check for it on the watch play store or for the icon on the apps if it maybe already auto updated.
hey thanks for sharing this. seems like i had the latest version of the app. had to reboot my phone once and i got it working
Can confirm that it is also working in Israel.
Good afternoon community. successfully configured with the Russian language. I live in Ukraine (we don't have an official Google Assistant). I am attaching screenshots. I can help set up - for free
Also available in Turkiye. "Which song is this?" command is not working as far as I tried. I loved that feature in Bixby.
Now that this is out, anyone think that removing bixby through adb won't break things?
Finally ! it does feel a bit slower than on the phone to recognize the voice inputs tho, anyone else experiencing this ?
Question Connect watch from wear os app?
Is their any way to connect galaxy watch 4 with wear os app?
You can pair without the wear app but you need the app to configure the watch in any phone, samsung or not.
Have you tried the wear app?
Without connecting it properly, via Samsung Wear app, what you have is largely an expensive paperweight that most functions are wasted on
If you try and connect it properly and fail, then get back to the community...and peopel will try and help
But asking a hypthetical without trying the standard approach is the slow way to resolving things
There are solutions to some issues, and for things like running Samsung Health Monitor on non-Samsung and rooted devices, for example:
[RESTRICTIONS-REMOVED] Samsung Health Monitor - WearOS - 1.1.3.002 - Root, Age, Country & Device Restriction Removed - 23rd May 2023
Hello Everyone, I hope you all are fine... ~~~ WearOS WATCHES ONLY ~~~ ~~~ FEATURES, BUGS & FUTURE WORKS~~~ FEATURES: Works on Samsung Watch4 and Watch5 (as mentioned Samsung WearOS Watches), Multilanguage, no root detection, no country...
forum.xda-developers.com
but you need to get the initial conenction sorted out first
