Question S22 ultra US, enable 5g in uk - Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

Hi all,
I have just got myself an s22 ultra however it is the US version.
Is there any way to enable the 5g signal for use in the uk please.
If yes, then would anyone have an idiots guide please.
Thanks in advance.

I don't think it can be enabled for US version. As long as 4g works fine enjoy

Ok cheers mate.
5g signal is a bit hit and miss around here, so 4g will be ok

It definitely can be enabled, there's a guy on eBay that's selling such service: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/165625849445
The question would be how he does that.

I have sent him a message to try and ask how he does it.
Also if it is a permanent fix that’s not affected by software updates.

Given that he's charging £65 to do it, I'd very surprised if he tells you
No harm in asking, though.

Interesting, I just thought it couldn't be done.
I really don't use too much data out of the house, and don't think i want my phone opening this early on (i only just got one), but it would be nice to know what is required to get it working.

Would changing CSC help?

[Q] Bad ESN, Activitating on TMobile

Hey, guys. I'm on TMobile but I found a bad ESN D2G on CL for $10.
So I bought it. It's literally like mint but has a bad ESN. Is there any way to get this working on my carrier, TMobile? I bought it to use as a development phone but I'd be really sweet if it could be my backup, as well. All input is appreciated.
Read this forum section. Read it. Both about the USA band unlock and about SIM unlock. Reading helps. There are lots of threads about this.

Thanks, man! I mean, it took you two minutes to ***** about my post. Exactly the amount of time it would have taken for you to answer my question!
Stand-up guy. Thanks, dude!
OP, if you are lucky and phone unlocks using code purchased online, you can get it working on T-Mobile, but in GSM/EDGE mode only (no 3G due to lack of AWS support).
If you can't get it unlocked this way, things get complicated.

I searched and couldn't find anything. This D2G section is quite sparse. You don't have to be a ****. It takes two seconds to respond and help someone.

I know I'm extremely late on this but dude... You're what's wrong with this site. Unwilling to take two seconds and help someone but instead taking ten to ***** them out. I'm my opinion people like you should be banned or have your comment posting rights taken away. Honestly some of the posts on here that would be extremely useful are hard to find because they can be tucked behind tens if not hundreds of new posts... Some people don't have the time to search for answers in some posts that they may not even have time to find. If you read this (Which you probably will) don't get mad at me and flame at me because your *****ing is very childish along with everyone else like you. I am in no way a dev but I am learning and I can assure you that when Iget good I will not be posting on this site because of people like you... Flame on but realize you are no help.

A bad ESN has no bearing on whether the phone can be activated on TMobile (or any other GSM provider).
Granted, if the ESN is bad, Verizon won't give you an unlock code. However I had great luck by getting a $6 unlock code from eBay user "Unlock_Fusion".
Then I performed the TBH Band Unlock that's posted here and at Rootzwiki, and now my D2G is happily accepting AT&T & TMo SIM cards.

I got rid of this a long time ago. I bought an unlock code via eBay and it worked first try. Did TBH unlock and it was great. Even got AT&T 3G.

Bounty - Enable International Capability

Hello all! Although I have been a forum follower daily, this is my first post.
I am offering up a bounty of $1000 USD to help me finally resolve the global capabilities of the Verizon I535.
Recently, I purchased this phone, replacing an iPhone, from Verizon in the US. I returned home here to the Dominican Republic and learned that this phone is not capable of connecting to our local networks other than Edge technology.
I started trying all the advanced settings through various ROM's and actually came VERY close to enabling 3G. The signal came on for about 30 seconds and then reverted back to Edge. CM10's ROM was the closest that gave me this option.
So! Who wants to join in this Bounty???? OR, would someone be interested in swapping my I535 for an ATT model??
Thanks everyone and looking forward to the follow up posts!!

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I did try everything that has been on that forum link.
I found another that I believe is on the right track to what may be missing in enabling true 3G.
This was the quote that caught my attention:
"If it is anything like the Rezound, it comes SIM unlocked from the factory, but the stock TW framekwork may not support the full GSM capabilities yet. CM10 doesn't sim unlock it, it just adds the missing code. "
Again, thanks for any info!

If there possibly is not a fix for this issue, is someone willing to trade a working Global phone for my S3?? Today I looked at a friend who has a Droid Razor that just received an update from Verizon and it works flawlessly. Also, the same friend has a Rezound working too.
Any takers? I'm starting to really HATE this S3 with this issue. It is like being on Dial Up internet service on an old Commodore 64 PC!
Frustrated....
You could buy an unlocked phone for the $1000 bounty.

Yes, I could, but I was trying to keep my i535. I cant find an ATT model S3 here locally in the DR for anywhere near $1000.
My carrier is Claro and the cost to buy one from them is approx $1485 USD. So, the Bounty is still less.
Good phones here in the DR are better than having gold in your pocket. Literally! People kill each other over technology here, sad but true.
If you want it bad enough - prepare to pay heavily.
You have a phone you would like to sell me then??
Holy cow, that's crazy. No I don't have one to sell you.

[Q] Is SCH-I535v same as SCH-I535

I am buying a verizon galaxy S3 off craigs list and the model number is SCH-I535V , is it the same as SCH-I535 ?
Also what is the best way to unlock it to use with AT&T with most functionality. Please point me to the appropriate "how to"s if possible.
Thanks in advance.

All US versions of the S3 already have completely different model numbers.

Wow, I had read sometime back there was some work going on regarding this....so no headway yet huh, must be some lock these guys put up.
I am going to take your advice and stay away from this phone then as I need it to work with ATT here and other gsm networks abroad.

[Q] Motorola Droid Ultra XT1080M on ATT

Just a quick question I hope I can get a quick reply on.to help a friend. From what I can tell this phone should work on ATT with a carrier unlock. Just want to be 100% sure before I tell him to go ahead and buy one. But from what I can tell it should be fine (Although may or may not have 4G on ATT, but thats not hugely important).

It says it's unlocked for GSM carriers so you should be able to use your AT&T SIM without hassle, if not use ebay protect to get a refund

Thats what I thought. Just wanted to be sure. Ive never had to deal with bringing a phone from one carrier to another before. I know it needs to be carrier unlocked. Just wasn't 100% sure if GSM was ATT compatible. Also thanks for the advice on the ebay protect. Will let my friend know about that.

How to unlock S7 from Telus Canada while in Europe

Hi, I left Canada for good without paying off my phone bill and am hoping to unlock my S7 Edge.
I can't really call Telus to ask them to do this for obvious reasons.
Tenk.

It's not blacklisted, so far so good.
Carriers don't tend to share a block list, if it gets IMEI blocked by a Canadian telco it'll probably only affect Canadian networks. That's why a lot of phones get sold for cheap on eBay, the person broke the contract, it got blocked in their country but they sell it to another country.
