Hello everyone.
I have such a problem I have uploaded a new room from https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/miui/vayu/stable/V13.0.4.0.SJUMIXM/ via fastboot. in the SafetyNet Test application it says CTS profile match fail. is there any way to fix this without root?

try the lastest.V13.0.5.0.SJUMIXM

If you're using Magisk, try using the Universal SafetyNet Fix module. Since you're on a custom ROM, you'll probably need to use MagiskHide Props Config to spoof a valid device signature.
Also, be aware that Google Pay no longer depends on SafetyNet attestation for device integrity; Google is moving to a new "Play Integrity" API. More information here
For more information on how to get Google Pay working with Magisk, check the Google Pay Magisk discussion thread.

Unlock and root Poco F2 Pro

Hi experts,
Anybody care to share proven method to unlock and root? I have done some googling and found there were slight difference in rooting method especially. Currently waiting for my unlocking timer to expire and hope to get good and proven method. I saw some recommended flashing verify and vbmeta.img? This is new to me as I did not do this for my Mi6. My understanding is that, flash TWRP then place Magisk.zip and flash using TWRP and that's it.

I used Miunlock just had to wait then I tried to install TWRP but it was for the K-30 pro and it was in Chinese which I don't read so I was kinda lost on what I was doing ended up soft bricking my phone but found videos on YouTube on how to fix(THANK GOD) So I'm just gonna wait til a proper TWRP is developed hopefully TEAM-WIN
I unlocked and rooted today using:
- Mi Unlock Tool
- TWRP
- Magisk 20.4

it's in Chinese but it's simple enough to change language. Had to watch a you-tube video but it was easy and now I was able to root with magisk
Yes, let's hope we have official TWRP soon. I'm also worried of using unofficial release TWRP and bricking up my new unit. I wonder why it is 128MB big for the chinese version. My Mi6 TWRP is only 30MB size...

If you just want root you don't need TWRP, just an unlocked bootloader. Patch the stock boot.img with Magisk Manager, transfer it to your computer and fastboot flash the patched boot image.

Well, you don't have to postpone it. You can just delay unlocking your phone. Unlocking phone will wipe the phone so always take backup. Once your unlock is approved, you can do it anytime using your mi unlock tool.

I think twrp is essential for those who wants to root their phone as it offers backup which can be restored in case anything wrong happen during os upgrade.

That's the only working twrp just now, in settings you have to change the language from Chinese to English then good to go. Only needs changed after first flashing .

Could you share the steps how were you able to unlock your device. Since I've been stuck on the "Couldn't Unlock. Please add your account in MIUI settings." - which I've already done several times. Mi Unlock also confirmed that my account and device is already added. I'm running out of hair trying to figure out what went wrong

Yeah, there had been several threads discussing it and it seems to be a common thing for Xiaomi devices. Just want to ask if you have encountered an error about the sim not being activated or similar to it? I figured this could be the culprit behind the error.
Why should i root my phone? What features do you guys use that needs rooting?

Oneplus 8 + root + widevine L1?

Is it possible to root the USA unlocked oneplus 8 and also keep widevine L1 for HD Netflix?

Widevine L1 , OnePlus 8 with version 10.5.8.IN21BA
Edit: Sorry, I hadn't read about unlock / root

i have 10.5.10/in21aa

To add to this I had to reinstall Netflix after the system update for Widevine to change to L1.

I was in the same boat as you. Once I unlocked it showed Widevine L3 (I didn't check if it was L1 before though).
But strangely after I rooted it with Magisk, installed the "MagiskHide Props Config" module to pass ctsProfile, it now shows Widevine L1.
I don't know if it was the root or the module that made it turn back to L1. Or maybe it just needed a restart in order to fix itself ?
Maybe try to restart your phone or to do the same steps I did (rooting + install MagiskHide Props Config module) and see if it works.

Will the device pass safetynet with unlocked bootloader without magisk?

I stopped rooting my phones for some time. So I'm not really sure on how things work now. I'll be receiving my 8T(KB2001) tomorrow. I just want to unlock the bootloader before setting up the device so that I can just flash the official twrp(when it comes) without clearing data. I just want to know if the device passes safetynet till I flash twrp and magisk? I use Google pay and other bank apps regularly so it's important for me. Also, generally how long does it take for an unofficial/official stable twrp to be available?
Tl;dr - Can I use Google pay with unlocked bootloader without magisk?
Doubtful

About Google Pay, I think you can use Google pay on unlocked bootloader without Magisk, But with Magisk installed and MagiskHide enabled you can definitely use Google Pay without any problem. I have used Google Pay with magisk. And Once i forgot to add Google Pay into magiskhide list but able to use without any problem. So dont worry about GPay.
But there is big catch for other banking apps, they will detect unlocked bootloader and refuse to run which can be bypass 100% using MagiskHide. Been using phonepe, paytm , and other official banking apps ( upi too ) without any problem. ( AFAIK had trouble with Sbi pay only) All others are working fine.
Device will pass safetynet once you enable MagiskHide after installing Magsik Canary. ( by default its off , you need to turn on manually after first run) And new magisk supports with Different App name so apps can not detect Magisk as app.
But biggest disadvantage of unlocking bootloader on Oneplus device is you will lose widevine level 1, it will set to L3 instead of L1 if you unlock bootloader, So basically you will lose HD in netflix, prime and other streaming apps which uses widevine. ( No effect on local hd playing using file,or youtube)
Best luck
It will not pass safety net. I checked that just now before enabling magisk hide and renaming the app. Google Pay will not work with the unlocked bootloader, even without having the magisk manager app installed. Samsung Pay worked fine on my watch with only the bootloader unlocked.
I can also confirm this. I had unlocked the bootloader the day I got my 8T and was surprised to see Google Pay not working. It started working fine after I rooted and hide it in Magisk.

I know I'll lose widevine L1 but I really don't care about that. I also know that I can use Magiskhide to keep them working but I just wanted to wait till the twrp is available. I was just wondering if I can manage without Magiskhide for some time. But looks like I have root now for them. Thanks for the reply :good:

I am passing safetynet with magisk root on US KB2005 11.0.1.2KB05AA. I can open Pay without any issues but have not fully set it up yet. If I recall on my last HTC with Root it threw an error immediately when opening. I will give it a shot later today.

Same, except I have fully set up Google Pay with my accounts and the app opens up and everything seems to be okay. I have not actually attempted to pay using it yet however.

Question Google Pay (NFC feature) still works even if I unlock the bootloader and flash another ROM?

So, If I install another ROM can I still pay with NFC or its the to same with others phones that if you unlock the bootloader this function stops to work?

This question is relate to SafetyNet. If you can pass SafetyNet, you can have working NFC.

NOTE: These steps may no longer be necessary on latest xiaomi.eu builds. Check for SafetyNet status first (preferably with an app other than Magisk Manager). While the xiaomi.eu ROM for the X3 Pro is patched against bootloader status detection...

You can relock bootloader with proper MIUI.
But even with unmodified MIUI, or even if you didn't unlock bootloader, you can still have faulty NFC. So you can't make sure, only try and error.
Life is just like this.
