My Whatsapp is popping up with this notification when I try to make or receive a Video Call...
"To make and receive calls on WhatsApp, WhatsApp needs to know whether you are on an active call so that you carrier calls are not disturbed"
It wants me to grant permission to the 'Phone'. Are you all just agreeing to this? I do not need the functionality, so why must I grant the permission? I couldn't care a toss is a carrier call is disturbed by a Whatsapp call.
My Wife's phone is on the same version (2.22.14.74) and has not requested this update.

Whatsapp is not social media app. It's communication app.

It's reputation precedes it... nothing but trouble.
It has a lot of users, hence a huge bullseye on it.
WhatsApp is what it is.

Old post I stumbled upon. While I dont disagree with you, the "article" you linked is a complete joke. An6 kind of point you are trying to make is undermined by this. It made me throw up a bit in my mouth if Im being truthful.
My unsolicited advice is to stop being intelectually dishonest. The wild part here, is that you're... right. Wild.

I have an android with whatsapp installed,
I use the internet (wifi) from my work, and it has a proxy.
I would like to know, if the person responsable for the network here from my work, can see my messages, video or audio, because I already sent banking passwords.
Thank you.
Its probably no. . .

DAFUQ? Why do you even send BANKING PASSWORDS via WhatsApp? The way I see it, WhatsApp is following the "security through absurity"-habit. Everybody thinks its secure, but where is proof of that? You should work in your security habits.
nice

According to SecUpwN, probably is better if you don't send any password trought WHATSAPP.
Anyway, the "person responsable for the network" probably not care about your password, and even more probably he would not be able to retrieve it, thank god the WA conversation are no longer in plaintext.
However the WA guys were not always so security conscious.. .an example: http://pastebin.com/g9UPuviz
Only app i really care about, hope someone is working on a port..

I would also love this... I think the ball is in googles court on this one and I'm very sad about it.. Does hangouts offer the option for client support? If not then we will have to wait for an official release from Google which will probably never happen

Whenever I download Android Wear, I no longer get notifications for Hangouts at all. Using a Galaxy S6 Edge+
I will take a look at it. Google does not open api for it, so there won't be standalone app. Is it enough if you can send messages to your friends? And no, I'm not talking about replying to a notification. You can send new message when you want to

With 3G it doesn't really feel like you're tethered. What is a tease though is you know your watch is capable of acquiring all the messages for both hangouts and Whatsapp bc if you hit "View more" it downloads the entire conversation. If only you could cache that and re-open it at a later time...even that would be a huge improvement. If only I had more time to tinker :crying:

Agreed, it seems like they engineered a solution but didn't think it necessary to provide it as a feature.
Perhaps our resident S2 developer tipztv could use this to hack a solution for standalone hangouts and whatsapp too!
I use Samsung Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910C that is rooted and running official marshmallow. All was going well for 6-7 months. But suddenly I am not getting push notification from the facebook app for the last month. The only time I am getting push notification from the facebook app when I try to login from another browser and a code is needed from code generator. Push notification from other apps, email, instagram etc are working. I have tried clearing data of the app, turning off platform, uninstalling greenify. Butnothing worked. What to do now? Please help.
Hi there so generally the facebook app is unliked around here because it takes up a huge amount of RAM. Many people here prefer to use an alternate client for facebook I've heard of some I think you should try some out if you feel you have done everything to activate push notifications. Here is a rddit link in case you are wondering about some opinions https://www.reddit.com/r/androidapps/comments/3k2ol0/facebook_app_alternative/

I wouldn't now since I don't really use Facebook. Have you tried restoring a backup through titanium or some fashion?

yup bro
There actually might be a setting that might have to do with this however we could have a better idea if you tried using the Facebook app on another device. Have you tried doing that?

No, I don't have another android device. When I use swipe pro, push notification works in that app. and in facebook app itself, for code generator notification and someone is live notification, push notification works immediately. Someone told me that this is facebook's problem. He faced the same problem. After his reporting for 2 times to facebook, they resolved it some days later.
Then you should probably contact Facebook if its a problem on their end that way you can now for sure if you can fix it.

It MAY be connected to the complaints that Samsung was receiving after Samsung Messaging no longer allowed for contact specific ringtones....So they fixed that & broke something far more important But - Yeah kind of a major mistake.... ?

Why not just uninstall the update? I never update anything right away ever since Microsoft introduced the "let the users be the testers" philosophy.
Don't get mad at me for saying MS, but that is who I remember. Since then a lot of companies have gotten lazy in their testing departments, and saved tons-o' money to boot!
I can't test this as I don't/won't have the upgrade/problem, just a recommendation (if it's even possible to uninstall the update).
If it is not possible to uninstall the latest update, then that to me is also a major bug!
As a for instance, I installed S9+ Samsung "Themes" and found out that you have to buy everything! What a crock!! What's worse is that I am unable to uninstall Themes - - and THIS is wrong.
Another idea, other than taking away permissions is to use a photo locking/vault app.
Is Disabling it in adhell 3 enough ?
Sms aren't used here anyways so I don't miss it at all.
Are there any downsides of it ? I still have Android messenger from Google installed
maybe due to emergency feature auto sending out, but not triggering by users, properly a bug (or intended)
I just use google messaging app, safer. Still leave the app on for emergency feature with 3 clicks on power button though
I continously find weird and new folders on my phone whose content seem fishy to say the least. I feel like my husband has hacked my phone just from looking at some of the files content. Please help me decode. Thank you.
the attached file is from a bug report.
also, I forgot to mention I dont use Microsoft at all on my phone yet these 'logs' continue to pop up from time to time.
I'm using a Samsung a11.
has your husband joined up recently too ?
fb is facebook and it's likely for ads.
Do a quick search on fb.bin

yea logs are your systems way of checking how your system is doing.
If you open one up it'll probably list the time, and what you did on that time frame.
That's content of fb.bin provided

If you are worried about your phone being hacked, you may scan your phone with some security app such as Malwarebytes, McAfee Mobile Security, etc.
