I'm trying to figure out a way of making my wallpapers extend pass the notification bar. This feature seems like it only works on wallpapers and live wallpapers pre-installed by Samsung. All other wallpapers are overlapped with a grey notification bar instead. Is there a setting that I'm missing? Maybe a resolution requirement that I'm missing? I'm using the new S4
Have seen people asking about this and I was also having trouble but figured out a simple solution.
I am using the Pixel Launcher Module for Magisk Created by jaimbo , and have the latest TGP rom installed it should work for other roms that use the Samsung theme app.
All you need to do is change your theme using the Samsung theme app to one with icons you like. I access it via settings > themes
Then go to settings > Display and change the display scaling from standard to condensed, or if it is on condensed change it to standard and reboot.
This works for me with multiple themes with different icons but I have to change the display scaling and reboot each time I change the theme , assuming it is redrawing or re-gathering the icons when you change the display scaling or something.
Hope this helps someone as it was driving me crazy as no app i tried was able to change the pixel launchers icons .
I find the new quick tiles (light blue on white background) to be difficult to see. Is there a way to be able to change the color and/or contrast of these icons. I do not want to root the phone. Have looked at xposed, at a few apps from the store. Also a number of different launchers such as Nova, Apex, etc but could not find this functionality in them.
Thx

This is not a launcher feature. There are two ways I know of. The simplest is to get a theme in the Samsung Theme Store (found under system settings) with the colours you want, then just overwrite the background wallpaper and icon pack in your launcher if you don't like them.
I believe you can also use Substratum without root on samsung phones, at least for theming the user interface. Substratum Themes will give you more colour options and won't change your icon pack and background unlike Samung Themes.
Ideally find a Substratum theme labelled Samsung so you know it works, then only tick the android system parts. I have to appologise in advance because I can't post links yet. You'll have to find them in the Play Store yourself.
First, install "Substratum".
Then, you'll have to buy the "Substratum Integration for Samsung (Addon Key)" (if you find it doesn't work, you always have 2 hours to refund it from the play store page)
Lastly, find a compatible theme like "[Substratum] StatusBar Icons (+extras) for Samsung" and activate it in the Substratum app.
With the google launcher on the pixel 2: if you have a black wallpaper the theme turns black, if you have a lighter wallpaper the theme goes with white theme, i would like to see a live wallpaper that shifts from a light background durning the day and at night the live wallpaper goes dark, so this way i can see it in the sunlight but at night its soft black and easy on the eyes. I know other launchers give you these settings, but would really like to see this work with the google launcher. any one have a live wallpaper or mod that can make this happen with the google launcher.

This might work.
Create a folder and place a light and and dark wallpaper in there.
Download Muzei en set the source to the folder you created.
Set the refresh time to 12 hours or something. And you'll have a decent interval.
FYI - the Pixel 2 reverts to a light theme anytime a live wallpaper is used. Even if the wallpaper is dark in color.

Unless you use Andromeda (rootless)

Yeah, I later realized it's only for certain live wallpapers. Not sure why though
Anyone know of a dark theme for Google Voice and Google Home? They are too white and bright at night.
You could try "Material Islands" live wallpaper. It changes from light to dark throughout the day
If you are rooted there is a sort of trick.
There is an app called "Pixel Launcher Mods" (here), and when you turn on night light you can force the dark theme.
Then simply set auto night light at some time, for example in the evening, so it will auto-shift to night light and also dark theme without have to change wallpaper.
I find this very useful.
For those who aren't on root and like to use a live wallpaper that won't apply the dark theme, but still want it (like me), an okay, but sometimes jarring alternative is to set Invert Colors in the pulldown quick tiles and just manually turn it on when needed. It's not the best solution, but it's something.
Hello!
I have had problems with the samsung theme store the last 4 days, even after the update.
When I apply a theme, the homescreen wallpaper also applies to the lockscreen wallpaper of the themes. Does not matter wich theme. The lockscreen wallpaper on the preview won`t apply. I have set my settings back to factory, powered it on and off, am on the newest updates and everything. Really frustrating. I have a s7 edge and I am on Oreo, newest version for my device.
Every help and answere is appreciated
