[Q] wallpaper extend pass notification bar - General Questions and Answers

I'm trying to figure out a way of making my wallpapers extend pass the notification bar. This feature seems like it only works on wallpapers and live wallpapers pre-installed by Samsung. All other wallpapers are overlapped with a grey notification bar instead. Is there a setting that I'm missing? Maybe a resolution requirement that I'm missing? I'm using the new S4

Transparent bar VANISHING

I was happy to see transparent bar when i got my s4.... but i noticed smthng strange lately
when we use stock wallpapers the transparent bar kicks in and the moment we use non-stock wallpapers the bar changes to non transparent..
see images....any suggestions

Yeah this kinds sucks but my thinking is that Samsung did it this way otherwise they would have a load of calls saying that all my status icons have vanished because someone has used a light grey wallpaper....
Just noticed that too.....not good.....hopefully samsung changes this

For what I've tried the transparent bar onky works with stock live and regular wallpapers. It's kinda of a bummer Samsung did it this way.

Its actually completely understandable.
If the wallpaper was the same colour as your notification icons you wouldnt be able to see anything.
its quite cool that they put the transparent feature in there for their wallpapers.
Mebbe a later update will give you the option by asking if you want transparent notification bar ... or the other option is to find a decent developer web site where people are ingenious and helpful and will do this for you .... oh hang on ....... look at the URL!

[Question] Is it possible to modify the status/notification bar to be double height

I find the notch notification area unsatisfactory and kinda wanna restore a classic android feeling, I couldn't find any android theme or framework settings that gives me 2 rows of notifications. See my mockup for the idea, but basically I'd like to have a way to enable a second row of notifications that show icons you'd normally see in the horizontal view.
Any suggestions on how to accomplish this?

Notification panel

Is there any way to change the background and font color for the notification panel (pull-down) for Android 11/One UI 3.1 via adb? no root?
Try Good Lock
Thank you for your suggestion, @Gamric!
Unable to use the Good Lock Theme Park mod because don't have a Samsung account, Galaxy store or Themes on phone. QuickStar mod disabled the ability to customize the Quick and Notification panels.

Question Notification Icons Broke after Update?

I'm not sure if this equates to "broken" but after whatever recent update happened (maybe a gig update?), all my notification icons are all the same green blob and they aren't respective to their own app anymore.
I tried to clear the cache partition but no luck fixing. Any ideas how to get those regular icons back? (Image attached)

How to show app real icon on notifications
Hey, so I just got my galaxy and I'm trying to figure out how to show the real app icon on notifications instead of Samsung icons. I've attached the photo, as you can see it shows same color icons for all notifications and I want to show the...

It's by design. The notifications follow the Material U color if you apply it to Icons.
You wither don't apply the colors to the icons (when setting it via wallpaper and colors) or you apply it and get themed icons everywhere.

Question Need some help with initial setup

LONG time OnePlus user, Just got my Z Flip 4.
Almost done setting it all up, one thing is bugging me though, how can I change the colour of the icons in my notification shade?
Can only see an option to match wallpaper colours or options in the Theme Store.
Is there no way to use a color wheel to choose your own color ?
Would also love to know how to hide the battery icon from the status bar (not just remove the percentage) cos I use the Energy Ring app to show the battery level around the front cam.
Well, I found my own answer for some of it.
Used the Good Lock app from the Galaxy Store to grab QuickStar where it allows you to customise your notification shade, including the colour of your icons.
Hell of a convoluted way to do what should be a very simple task.
Other customisation apps in there include :
Theme Park : To make your own customised themes
Wonderland : To make your own 3D motion wallpapers
LockStar : To design your own custom lockscreen theme
Clockface : To choose or customise your clock on lock screen or AOD
Was pleased to note that you can install custom system fonts too without root, I plumped for the Helvetica Neue for that "Apple feel", although there's some weird and wacky fonts on there, half of them looking like comic sans, that will never be on my phone lol

Still looking for a way to disable the battery icon in the status bar though cos I use the Energy Ring app for battery level. Don't want to root cos I still want to use banking apps and CBA messing about.

Good lock can do that to. I got my icon removed and just a percentage in the corner
