Hi everyone. This is for anyone with a S908e device that lives in Canada and would like to have proper signal, 5g, rcs in Samsung messages among other things.
This should work for other regions as well such as the US. If you want to PM me your Home CSC from your regions most recent firmware, I could try and make a zip file for you as well.
This process below requires root as well as a root file manager such as Root Explorer.
1. Download the Canadian CSC files below to you phone.
2. Unzip file to your phone.
3. Go to the root folder in root explorer and backup the optics and prism folders.
4. Go into optics, configure, carriers and delete the singles folder.
5. Then go to the search location of the unzipped optics folder and copy all of the folders in carriers to the same folder on the root of the device.
6. Next do the same for all folders in the prism folder of root.
7. Once everything is copied go back to the root folder, change the permissions to exactly what the screenshot attached shows. Making sure you select the 2 check boxes on the bottom.
8. When that is done reset your phone. You should now get 5g, better signal and rcs in the Samsung messages app among other things.

As always do this at your own risk and remember to back up your data.
Ps. If anyone might know which files in the CSC would deal with Sim Card Manager I am trying to figure out how to keep the settings in it from changing when the CSC is changed.
Hi there, would this also work for SM-S908N? Mostly for 5G access. Thanks!

I believe it should work for any S908W device. Just depends on the available bands. Try and let me know I can update to add the N.
If it does not work you have no worries, you can just reflash your Home csc from the S908N factory firmware and everything be fixed. There is no reason this will not work for your device. Should also work on a exynos device.
Hello, Can you please make a zip file for me. I have attached the Home CSC of current SM-S908W XAC Firmware. I am planning to change my CSC on my SM-S908N KOO device. Thank You.

Hi guys,
I have the Korean version of the Note Edge, SM-N915S installed with the latest stock rom (N915SKSU1ANK5).
The device is rooted (CF-Auto-Root), and flashed with CWM Based Recovery 6.0.5.1 .
I also used Aroma Universal Bloatware Remover v1.3 (thank you UpInTheAir) to remove some bloatware.
Now I wish to replace the original CSC (Korean) with a different one that will support my language (iw-IL) as well as my local cellular carriers.
I did succeed to find an Israeli stock rom for the NOTE 4 (N910FXXU1ANK5_N910FOJK1ANK5_ILO) with the "right" CSC.
I opened both roms with the Android Kitchen v0.224 so that now I have access to the CSC directories on both.
My question is:
can I just replace the CSC directory on the EDGE rom with the one on the NOTE 4 rom or is it involved with more than this?
IMPORTANT (or not) - The roms are dealing with 2 different devices with different processors and firmware!
Thanks,
Matty
I doubt you can't do it. As the file structures are (may be) different.

Thanks vndnguyen.
One major question is if all CSC configuration is done in the CSC folder or is it also involving other folders or files.
Next question is if different processor influences on CSC configuration.
I'm less concerned with different model (Note 4 vs. Note Edge) as it is basically the same device. (or maybe I'm wrong here....?!)

I can't answer your question right now, but you can check yourself by following this instruction:
download the stock firmwares for both Note 4 and Edge, extract the CSC partition (cache.img.ext4 file) using Winrar and then extract this file using ext4 Unpacker tool.
That way you can compare the file structure of both models.
Or you could just flash my SkyHigh ROM ..... Changing CSC will FC the weather widget and no notification from weather widget on edge panel.
Hi Folks,
Wanted to share a working guide to make LTE network BAND Selection in S7 / S7E on any stock based ports or stock rom .
Mostly useful for JIO users who want to lock specific bands on their phone.
Things needed: Need device to be rooted and some knowledge to copy and rename files under root partition.
Steps: Navigate to /system/csc/etc or system/omc/INS/etc
locate the file INS_keystring.dat and rename it to something.
navigate to OMC/XXV/etc and copy the keystring.dat file from XXV CSC.
copy the XXV_keystring.dat and paste the same in OMC/INS/etc and rename it to INS_keystrings.dat
reboot the phone.
Later dial *#2263# and you will be able to access the band selection menu.
Tested in BD N8 rom and i disabled Band40 and Band3 and using only BAND5 on Jio as i need good indoor coverage.
Sorry for the short guide.
I reside in Spain and was trying to find the Firmware to update my ATT Note10+ 5G (SM-N976U) and came across this website https://firmware.gem-flash.com to which I paid for the following files:
(1) COMBINATION_FAC_FAQ0_N976U1SQU3ATF1_FACFAC_CL18966390_QB32158047_REV00_user_mid_noship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
(2) N976U1SQU3ATF1_ENG_MODEM
I was hoping that the RAR files would contain the ODIN3 [BL/AP/CP/CSC/Home CSC/UserData] files but unfortunately it did not.
I would be most grateful if anyone can explain what the above files are for and if they are what I require to flash my phone and is there a program similar to ODIN that I would need to do so.
If necessary I can give access to the Gem Flash account from which the files can be downloaded and tested as it appears that the ''COMBINATION_FAC'' file is too large to upload here.
Thanks in advance for any assistance that may be offered.
Combination file is used to put the phone in factory(engineering mode), and the eng modem is just a modem extract from the combination file.
If you are not doing any hacks on the phone, those two files have no use
Hello today i will be teaching you how to change your CSC on your A326U you can do this on V1, V2 , V3.
Before we proceed YOU NEED TO BE ROOTED.
Changing your CSC will give better looking icons and give your modem full access to 5G ( no speed throttling ) plus you wont get stock apps pertaining to your carrier. (bloatware)
This will also allow you to record calls with the built in recorder and more...
To change your csc you must take out sim card then using a file explorer head over to /optics/configs/carriers delete everything EXCEPT the SINGLE folder, then go inside SINGLE folder and delete all except XAA
then head over to /efs/imei
Change your mps_code.dat value to XAA Do the same with omcnw_code.dat & salescodeChanged.
delete the .baks Insert Sim and Reboot.
The csc file allows you to bypass throttling from any carrier if so where can I find such a file is it a custom csc file or stock csc file? Or do you just edit the csc without any other csc file?
Strange that there is no salescodeChanged inside imei folder.
Unless you meant prodcode.dat or cid.dat or total_call_time?
Bro my imei is 00000000
Imei cert fail 0 0
No backup of efs no sec portion on bit 8 how can you help me

Hi, not sure if this is in the right place.... there doesn't seem to be a "Samsung General" forum.
Anyway, I've got my hands on the firmware for the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G930A - snapdragon SoC), and I've extracted the CSC portion of the firmware to my PC. I'm hoping that I can use this CSC to make my Canadian S7 (SM-G930W8 - exynos SoC) compatible with AT&T's VoLTE service.
First, can someone direct me to a suitable guide for making a zip file that I can flash in TWRP to modify a system (rather than a complete system)?
Second, can someone tell me how to figure out what part of the image needs to go into this zip file?
I think I'm starting too big trying to make a zip file. Now I'm thinking that I first just need to figure out how to get a /system/csc/ATT/ folder created and the contents written into it, then figure out how to switch the phone to that CSC instead of the current one. Any suggestions? I'm currently using ALEXNDR's DevBase for the SM-G930F.
