I'm going to get the Nord 2T or the Poco F4, but both of them have similar specs!
I can't really tell you if it's worth getting, everyone has different usage patterns, but here's an article that may help you out https://www.gizbot.com/mobile/featu...rformance-camera-battery-software-081492.html

Thanks, I've read the article and I think I'm going with OnePlus Nord 2T and sales started today in India!
good read that, great share. toying myself between multiple devices #BrainHurts
As Nord 2T contains MediaTek processor, it won't support custom rom. Something to note if you want to flash custom rom in the future.

That's definitely not true! The Nord 2 also has a MTK chip and it is supported by multiple custom roms

Does this phone has a future for custom ROM development?
I know it just launched. But I just wanted to hear the opinions. OnePlus Nord 2 is pretty powerful phone, but it's a MediaTek Dimensity 1200. Normally OnePlus devices has great development support but as MediaTek device, do you think it will also...
forum.xda-developers.com
It's still in a very nascent stage as compared to OnePlus with Qualcomm chips

I'm enjoying it, I upgraded from the original Nord to the 2T, its pretty good. My only gripe is that the software is a bit buggy at times, but I'm sure this will get better with updates. I use button navigation, and the home and task switcher buttons stop responding sometimes. The 80w charging is really useful, although I've heard the difference between 60 and 80 is not noticeable. My OG nord had warp 30, so this was quite a step up for me

Ah okay, I'm also using Nova launcher, so if I stick with the stock OnePlus launcher, the buttons work all the time again?
Yes, I have also sent some reports to Nova team but there is no solution. here the reply:
Hello,
Correct. Because stock launchers have complete access to the system whereas 3rd party launchers don't.
You are free to test in any other 3rd party launcher and you will have the same issue there, hence why we sent you the response we sent you.
With Nova sometimes I have also the nav bar overlap problem of the print screen in attach, look close all/ram indicator which goes too low, with stock launcher no problem. On my first Oneplus Nord updated to Android 12 the problem with Nova is the same.

I bought the phone like 2 weeks ago and I really love the performance, it is smooth with good specs! I like the camera too which takes good quality images. The only thing is the back looks wired with the 2 big cameras so I might cover the back with skins or a case!
Hi there
I have this phone since 20th of June and I loving it... I has a little scared about the MTK processor but it works like a charm. Good battery efficiency and the 80W charger it's great. The software is a little buggy but I'm sure Oneplus fix it with future updates. The looks of the back cameras I think is the new look of upcoming phones, let's see.... In the first days I also think that cameras was weird but now I'm used to it. Finally about Custom rom's we have to take baby steps... one thing at a time... Cheers.

If still looking for a case, check out Nillkin frosted shield cases on Aliexpress. At the moment those are the best that exist for the Nord 2T. Everything else is cheap garbage currently.
EDIT: well, just checked on Amazon, and Spigen released the Liquid Air case for the Nord 2T. Never used a "Liquid Air" case, but when I buy a case I nearly always go for Spigen, so I can vouch for this brand. Top-notch quality cases.

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has the Acer Liquid Glow E330? I can't really find much info on here threadwise and there doesn't seem to be a specific section for it (maybe mods could add one).
I bought mine about a month ago and its not bad, but it could be better. Anyone else have any opinion on this phone?

I looking at getting one myself - it looks to be a well specified ICS phone at a reasonable price
I'm worried though that there is very little mention of it online. Most "reviews" date back to February when it was annonced and don't really tell you much. I'm also worried that when I go looking for cases to protect it, I can't find anything (other than generic slip cases, etc).
I'd be very interested in what you have to say about it in the areas of general usability, quality of construction, calls, battery life, stability - all the stuff you only get from people who actually own and use the phone! Oh, and if you found a case supplier, I'd be keen to hear about that too!

Oh hey, i got a liquid glow and from using for 3 weeks it is a really good phone.
For protection cases theres nothing except those pull tab things you find on ebay. ( i ordered one)
the only problem i have with it is the wifi, but that may be because of my router and well its not a well known phone.
As you said the reviews date back to when it was announced and acer already announced a new line of phones so I am not sure if this phone is ever gonna be known to a big public out there....
But in a nutshell: Good phone 4 low price... but keep in mind that it is still a low end phone so sometimes it gets laggy because you're running too many apps, just close them.
bye
and probably acer stop support & upgrade it very quickly
phone: sgs2 GT-I9100
kernel : dorimanx 5.79beta
main rom: rr 2.7
second rom: cm 9.1
baseband: I9100XXLQ6
Thanks for the replies.
It's a bit curious that there is so little online about these phones. They appear to offer a decent spec for a reasonable price. For me, its ICS, screen resolution, SDHC expansion and replacable battery are the key selling points - I don't think there is any competition at that price. The Expansys website has the phone no. 6 in its popularity stakes (Whatever that means: http://www.expansys.com/acer-liquid-glow-cats-eye-black-234412/); I suppose it suggests they are at least selling some.
Not seeing any cases for it on EBay tends to scare me though - and confirm the thoughts of the poster above that it will have little support :crying: Will we see Jellybean for example? Acer appear to be promoting the Android-rivalling Aliyun operating system in other markets and this doesn't fill me with confidence regarding their commitment into the future.
So, it looks like anyone buying the phone should do so in the knowledge that they will be unsupported in terms of accessories and future updates. Still a tempting spec as-is though

Hi there,
I'm in the market to buy a new phone and teh S7 is on top of my list. I waited a little to see what problems arise in the first month after launch. I see some problems with front facing camera and rear facing camera video. After using this phone for 30 days would you still buy it or recommend it to someone like me. I had a LG G4 that i really liked but it had some small screen problem so I returned it. The LG G4 is half the price of te S7. In these condition would you still buy the S7? Please argue you answer.
Samsung galaxy s7 have many new features coming one of them is android marshmallow. The other hidden features you are not aware of like:
- Screen Lock Shortcuts
- Set up Gear VR
- Samsung Pay
- Motion Photo Option
- change the icon backgrounds
- Always On Display Option
After getting all these features i definitely recommend you to buy this phone.
I have the Exynos S7 and this is the best phone I've had.
The battery is great (getting 2 days minimum on a charge).
The camera is great although it has a (very) bad tendency to over-sharpen.
Touchwiz is very slimmed down and its performance is flawless.
The 4gb of ram are very useful and I've rarely (if ever) seen apps reloading when switching between recent apps.
What I don't quite like is the design - very slippery and smudgy - I don't recommend ever using it without a case. Coming from an S4, for me it's also a bit on the heavy side.
I'm ~2 weeks in and at this point I'd make the same decision again. I was hesitant to have a phone without root but so far my fears where unfounded. There are a few things I miss but nothing major.
3 weeks in coming from an LG G3 and no regrets. Best smartphone I've had yet.
I have the S7E. Pretty close to each other. It's a pho e with no compromises. Software is fast and fluid. Camera rocks, though it tends to overshapen but still impressive quality. Battery life for days. I cant tell you any flaws with it at this point.
Battery life alone is worth it. Came from an s5.

I'll second this. I've only had rooted phones since the original droid and I was pretty worried about not having V4A, quick unlock, and add blocking. So far, the only thing I've really missed is add blocking but I'm still totally happy with the phone.

For the full version it is not cheap, but worth it to me as I was getting REALLY annoyed by all the ads in apps.
You can check out there progress @ https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardForAndroid.
Try adguard available on their site and not via Google play for obvious reasons.

Now you can buy a lifetime licence for around 4€.
Adguard works like any adblocker on a rooted devices (only the little key symbol is annoying)
You can get rid of the symbol by using tasker and only activating Adguard while the use of Chrome/Apps with Ads

About the same speed as Pixels. Not as good support as Pixels, but who has better? Some nice extra features that Pixels don't have, but Pixel exclusive features would be missing. Camera is not as good, but pretty good - at least better than Pixel XL in low light imo. Hopefully some bug fixes that buggy Pixels still don't have - like the 2 Bluetooth device bug that Google hasn't fixed in years, but was fixed in at least 5.1.5 OOS, but was reintroduced in 5.1.6+. Pretty good screen but weak loudspeaker. The notch is surprisingly good - used to hate the idea of notch until I started using it, it's like free extra space that would otherwise be wasted.
Just don't order from Asia and only order directly from Oneplus. There seem to be serious quality control issues with hardware shipped to that part of the world - OP forums are littered with people complaining about hardware defects, and almost all of them have Asian usernames. Very few complaints from westerners.

Yep, ordered the red yesterday, should arrive tomorrow, hope i get a flawless phone
I've been using sony devices for some years but i have ordered oneplus devices before for some of my friends and always liked them, great phones for their price point.
I will miss the sony community here in xda more than i'll miss not having a sony device anyway... but i'm sure the oneplus 6 will have lots of development and mods too, that's one of the main reasons i ordered the 6, i'll never buy a phone without an unlockable bootloader and community support, it seems like oneplus did a great job on that aspect giving phones to several recognized developers here on xda :good:
I'v ordered it for my wife.

Nice.
What OS version did you get? If it's 5.1.5 like mine, don't update it. Wait for 5.1.10. There were a few bugs introduced with 5.1.6+.
@nabbed Thanks for the tip, but i got mine with 5.1.8 already installed. Date on the box is 25/06/2018.
Didn't notice any bug so far, do you know what bugs are identified in 5.1.8?

There are a few. I have one that is a pain in my ass - when you connect two Bluetooth phone devices, the second one connects as "Connected (no phone)" - cannot make calls.
So, if you have a smartwatch that can make and receive calls, and you get inside your car that also has BT, the car unit will not work. Solution - disable "phone" function on the watch.
Sucks, since you can use both devices simultaneously in 5.1.5, with Samsung phones, and, I suppose, in theory.
Ordered my Red OP6 and it'll arrive tomorrow but I won't be home from a work trip for another week and a half!
I previously had a HTC Vivid and then Galaxy S4; both from AT&T but I was able to root both phones. I then went to this piece of &*!t locked LG G4. SO MANY HARDWARE ISSUES! That's the last time I buy a phone from a cell provider.
Can't wait to get my hands on this SEXY red phone and get root back!

I can't agree with that reasoning. One of the main reason you are seeing more Asians than westerners in OP forum is because OP sells a lot more devices in Asia than in the west, atleast AFAIK. Also I regularly glance through a few of those posts daily and lot of those seem to be about accidental damages or repetitive posts about known software bugs.
Very few posts actually describe legitimate problems.
Also here in India, OnePlus is exclusively sold via Amazon or OnePlus' online or offline stores. So the support is extremely good. My brother got his op5's display replaced under 5 hours when it developed a hardware issue. I too registered a complaint with Amazon based on the bug with "switching to speakers while on call" (it has since been rectified via OTA update). Amazon offered a full refund on return (after the return window was over) but I wasn't ready to let go of my Avenger's edition OP6. (they didn't have it in stock to provide a replacement).
And on the new Red edition, I kind of wish I had gotten that refund. I am such a sucker for RED. Or atleast they could have launched it a few months afterwards like they did got 5t. I could have lived with that. Atleast there is dbrand to mildly ease that longing for RED. All OP 6 colours are just so amazing in their own way but RED is the colour for me. Wish I had waited for a bit.
Maybe my next phone would be red. Fingers crossed.
Mine arrived yesterday, amazing color.
Going to buy one of the above phones very shortly.
1. Which one would you buy and why?
2. Which one offers best support /updates?
3. Which one would offer best second hand resale value in 12 to 18 months time? Thanks in advance!
RNP8 is 6/64gb while Realme is 8/128gb. I'm in Ireland but will probably buy from amazon Spain or Germany as its cheaper.

1. I have a Realme 5 Pro (as well as a Redmi Note 7 Pro and a Pocophone). I'd get the 5 Pro. I would always choose a Snapdragon over a MediaTek chip. The SD712 is an excellent mid-range chip. If you game, the MediaTek chip in the 8 Pro will be a LOT faster.
The camera in the 5 Pro is excellent. The Sony IMX586 sensor is far superior to the Samsung sensor in the 8 Pro.
I imagine the build quality would be similar.
2. Realme provides monthly patches for six months and then alternate months for another 18 months. Xiaomi has become tardy with updates. It's not unusual for an unmodded global phone to go three months between updates. My Pocophone went three months without updates, and my Redmi Note 7 Pro, which runs xiaomi.eu weeklies, hasn't received an update since 12th December. So much for weeklies; it's been nearly three months.
3. Xiaomi phones seem to hold their value better due to popularity, but it might depend on the region you're in.
Thanks for that. You've the note 7 but note 8 is supposed to be a step up again. Still undecided.
But resale is a big thing, I just sold my Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite on a site here in Ireland. Plenty of xiaomi phones on it but not one single Realme. So it's kinda swaying me towards xiaomi. Though I do like the more compact size of Realme.... Its a tough call either way.

Thanks for that. You've the note 7 but note 8 is supposed to be a step up again. Still undecided.

I've got the RN7P, not the RN7. The RN7P has been the only Redmi to include an excellent Sony sensor and front and back Gorilla Glass 5 build quality. Yes, the RN8P should've been an improvement, but in my opinion, it's not.
With the disappointing Redmi Note 8 series, the silly K30 and the X2, I'm losing confidence in Xiaomi, which is why I'd go with Realme.
From looking online, the RN8P doesn't seem to disappoint, gets mostly positive reviews. As does the Realme. The big factor for me is resale though. Currently, there's no demand for second hand Realme phones here in Ireland but there is for xiaomi.

Yeah, resale demand is the same in Australia. If that's your main concern, get the RN8P.

Thanks for your advice. I've just been reading online that there's problems with android auto and the RN8P which is worrying as I use it all the time in my car.
I might go for the Mi 9 Lite, would it be better than the RN8P? You seem very knowledgeable on these things!!

I buy and sell a lot of phones cause I like to try them. It's an addiction. It's fun though.
I owned the 9 Lite for a while too. It's a beautiful phone. A gorgeous display, superb build quality and a great camera. The reason I had to sell it was that I can't stand under-display fingerprint sensors. I find them slower and inaccurate, and I prefer a tactile sensor. That said, the 9 Lite is about the fastest under-display sensor I've used. I tried face-unlock but wasn't a fan.
Another thing to consider is that notification LED is on the rear, which is kind of silly, as it means you need to put it face down if you want to see it. However, it's a beautiful multicoloured affair where the Xiaomi logo lights up. The 5 Pro doesn't have a notification LED anyway.
Yes, the 9 Lite is miles ahead of the RN8P and Realme 5 Pro. It's a very classy phone, and is cheap too. If it had a rear fingerprint sensor, it would've been one of my all-time favourites.

I think you'll be happy with it.
No, I don't use accessories. I always just use the included case and no screen protector.

I always use a case cos I'm clumsy. But I've been reading that the notification Led is actually on the back of the mi 9 lite, is that true? If so, a case would only cover this up... Or else I get a clear case? What type case comes with it? Thanks

You need to re-read my post. I said the notification LED was on the back.
From memory, it comes with a clear silicone case. Perhaps search on YouTube for an unboxing clip.

Sorry, forgot you said that! They're selling black cases on amazon but surely they would just cover up the led light?

And shifting to another fairly not flocked brand like Infinix? They are not touting their brand and models "As flagship killers" like OnePlus did, but their newer models are at least mid end spectrum of phone specs.
I'm checking out their Note 11 Pro... Anyone have this phone rn?

For daily use, it works for me yeah... Somehow, as an everyday carry... But it is quite lacking compared to the last phone that I had(K20 Pro).
The FP is wonky at best, the plastic external button looks like it's about to fall off anytime it's being touched.
The audio is stupendously nerve-wracking if you don't know your way around the settings, good that I found the setting for volume control on individual apps. I find this the most annoying thing in the X3 Pro.

Yeh. some times fp laging, needs touch few times. but overall it's not to bad for me. I'm not gamer or try push to over limits and say i bricked my phone.
I doubt you can find anything better for $200
Simple answer: You get what you pay for. And SD860 with ufs 3.1 storage at this price range is really a good steal.
If you really want a premium phone, you should start with $500+
The only criticisms I have are the relatively slow security patches and the awful MIUI. Everything else is totally acceptable given the very reasonable price.

I haven't even played on my phone from 100% to 0% if that's what you meant by "Push to over limits". I have yet to unlock BL on my phone or do other soft mods, I lost my touch with custom roms after getting the K20 Pro. Not sure whether it's the lack of time and patience to deal with the whole process of installing a rom.

Infinix has the same pricing, not sure if they have the same or equivalent specs for their Note 11 Pro.

I mean it is pretty much what it is, but weird quirks of this phone is just everywhere. Pocket mode is spotty AF, one time while I was trying to fool myself on getting into running - the phone would randomly hold Forward/Next while on lockscreen or triple click or that other time while I was running and the phone made an in-app purchase worth US$80 Good thing Play store honors 24-hour refunds.

The entirety of the phone as a whole is good, the little problems is what makes it problematic for me. I could have just stuck with my K20 Pro if I knew this phone is no better than someone else's OnePlus 3.
