Question Original Android FM App Crashed - FYT Android Car Unit (CPU: UIS8141E) - FYT Android Head Units

Hello everyone
I have an android car unit that I bought from AliExpress (here's the link). It works perfectly in most cases. The only drawback is that when I am using the navigator (Google Maps or any other) along with the original FM radio app, the original FM radio app (in the background) crashes and closes constantly (every 10 seconds after reopening it). This is very annoying and I can't seem to solve it.
I spoke to the seller and he gave me some "update files" for my Android car unit. But honestly, I'm not very confident about using them as the instructions the seller gave me don't match the interface of my device. The salesman told me that my device is a TS18, but I don't know exactly what he means by that.
I have used the HWGetinfo.apk application to check if my device is FYT and indeed it is. To solve the FM radio problem, I tried installing the NavRadio+.apk application which was supposed to be compatible with my device, but when I installed it, it told me that it is not compatible.
I want to solve this problem, but I don't know what else to do and I'm afraid to update and leave my radio unusable....
I attach images of the characteristics of my device. Also, I attach here the link to the update files that the seller sent me.
My questions are:
1. Can anyone think of a solution to stop the native FM app from crashing?
2. Can I update my Android system somehow?
I would be very grateful if someone could help me. Thanks in advance for your time.
Regards.

Your unit is not a uis8581a, but the cheap sc7731. It is indeed a FYT.
I am not going to download a 1.5GB file. Please share a listing of the contents of the rar, and of the config.txt inside it if there is one.
Edit:
The properties.txt inside your HWGetinfo.zip also says it is a sc7731: [ro.product.hardware]: [sc7731e_1h10_v1.1.0] and [ro.product.board]: [sp7731e_1h10]
The sc7731 can be considered a RaspberryPi 4 (ARM A7).
[ro.product.cpu.abi]: [armeabi-v7a]
[ro.product.cpu.abi2]: [armeabi]
[ro.product.cpu.abilist]: [armeabi-v7a,armeabi]
[ro.product.cpu.abilist32]: [armeabi-v7a,armeabi]

I'd suggest replacing with a FYT uis7862

Hello.
First of all thank you very much for your answer, now I have much more information about my device.
In the image "Screenshot_1.png" you can see a list of the content of the .rar file. Also, I attach the text file with additional information that comes inside the .rar ("TS18更新记录.txt").
What should I do now?

Maybe you expect an answer from me, so I give it, but it might not be of much use.
It is a FYT but a topways firmware structure. I do not know much about that.

I... think so. From this tablet, right?
...Oh. The forum won't let me post links. Great, now how am I supposed to help anyone?
Well, I had some trouble with my Aoson s7, and their technical support sent me some drivers and such. The scatter file was packaged with a lot of other files. It was called MT6580_Android_scatter.txt -- maybe if you Google that you can find a download link somewhere?
----edit------
Oh, wait. Mine might be an s7 standard version :/ It sounds like the same sort of stats, but it might not work. I really can't be sure.

Mtce_mx2_v3.00

Hi,

Or:

Edit:
I have just reflash it my headunit back from mx-3.00 to the mx2 (3.00) version, to the original mx2 version as it was when I bought it, you must choose and do the wipe thing otherwise the head unit will not be start but keep showing the car logo.. in case you would to go back to your mx2 version ofcourse.
People, dont do the above, use the latest MCU version or cross compatible HA or GS MCU.
The MCU is not android and would never require a wipe.
when the adult men talk about logic..
Hi Guys.. do not pay any attention to such reply at all,
I'm gonna explain it to you guys why i'm Wright and that guy is absolutely Wrong!.. please read it very curfely twice..
firstly, I am the one who has this mx2 headunit,
secondly, I am the one who flashed and tested it both version mx+mx2 already,
thirdly, if you do not have mx / mx2 headunit and also you didn't test it (mx/mx2) why did you write a reply back than?
aha, to warn the guys I heard you say? again, first you should Test things and only than say (reply) something useful back..
nobody has asked for your opinion! learn first to read carefully (twice!) and only then write something useful back when it concerns to your own head unit only and if you already have a mx-mx2 headuint and if you have tested it already and your head unit went broke (brick) you have all the right to warn the "people" as you called them.. right?
Very important..
I've written too clearly that I already have an mx2 headunit,
and then I got a mx version (3.00) from my seller and I flashed it with it On My Own mx2 headunit and it went ok so nothing went wrong or defective or damaged my own headunit or something like that at all,
and now I want to go back to the original mx2 version which I already have and did in the meantime.. is there something wrong with it?
Again..
first and only if you have the same headunit with mx / mx2 version and then Only then you have the right to say something useful to the guys back, other than that your reply will literally fall under stupid reply: sucked out of his thumb.
I never need or asked your comment because I want to spend my free time on something useful than on stupid answers/reply's.
Ps: when guys flash them headunit's with custom roms or with this or that custom things there is "sometimes some risk.. Only 2 in 5 long years bricked them headunits and they fixed it back!!" of being damaged (bricked) and that what malay and also hal9 has write it on their first page: Flash It At Your Own Risk.
But if one of the headunits of the guys went broke/brick after flashing this mcu file on his own mx or mx2, I will pay for a newer "motherboard"... a'm I too Clear now!?!
end of story.. some guy let even an old horse laugh.. hahaha.
Thanks you guys for reading!
Can i ask which is better or newer mx or mx2..?
Or which the difference between them?
Thanks.

As far as I know, the only difference are the car-logos, which are shown during the bootup process.
I flashed from mx to mx2 and my Citroen-carlogo is still there, but I cannot chose another one inside the factory-settings.
Correct MX is with car logos and MX2 isnt.
The newest MX version is 3.08. and MX2 is 3.13.

Yes, there is no official place to download those MCU files.
Every file we have here for download is only made accessible by asking the vendor/dealer of the headunits.
So someone should ask Bob from Witson again. ?

mmm... MTCP? not MTCE?
Compatibility with MTCD/MTCE (this forum section) is not very clear...
BTW, this section is for the software development... you should ask in the general sections...

Yes, MTCP. As far as i understand P - is for 8-channel audio. Maybe there are some other differences, but this is the one i'm aware of.
Can you please share what you have? i will try to check if it can be flashed on my HU.
Thanks!
I have a MTCE_HF with MCU v. 3.30 (the latest known on the net), but I suspect it's not compatible with your HU, but anyway you have already a v 3.30, even if it's a v. 3.30_1 (for MTCP?).
Hello everyone. I received an updated Firmware directly from seicane for their head unit. This is Android 10 update for the 2/32 GB unit. Everything seems to be working great so far on unit. If you would like to try it for yourself please feel free to download and install. I'm not too tech savvy so if you have any questions I'll answer them the best I can. Thought I would share for anyone to update their own unit if possible
PLEASE BE ADVISED YOU USE THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!
I will not be held responsible for any damages done to your own unit.
Thank you!

Question Root for Joying Android 10 units?

I just bought a 8” Joying JY-UQD80N4G unit, and I’m wondering if there is a way to root it? I’m new to the business of rooting and Android head units in general, so I’m not sure where to look. I’ve seen a few guides on rooting joying devices here, but most of them seem to be made for older Android versions. I don’t want to mess up and end up bricking my new head unit. Can anyone help?
Yes. Get the firmware from joying support. and note its install instructions
Find the boot.imgand patch it with magisk,

See section, "Spoiler: Initial Root / Create Master Root Image" should help
But instead of using the flashing commands, repack the zip/bin file with your new boot.img replacement and following the install insstuctions.

The above link is for the sc9853i. The uis7862 needs the same approach but different binaries/libraries as the sc9853i is an x86 chip and the uis7862 is an ARM chip. That is a different CPU architecture. If you really want to know how to do it, you need to search on 4pda. There are 3 different ways of doing that.
Furthermore: the 6315_1.zip is identical for all FYT uis7862 units. There are 6315_1.zip versions there with a "baked in" rooted boot.img. It is not all so difficult and not so different from the sc9853i, but it IS different.
And again: Why do you want to root it? On the higher Android versions rooting doesn't add much. It breaks Google voice feedback. It blocks more and more apps that check whether they are started on a rooted device. Viper4Android doesn't work on these units (and it useless now with the DSP enabled units).
So why?

I'd like to root it because I'd like to use one of logcat viewer apks, but these don't work without it.
Could somebody help rooting the latest joying UIS firmware?

I have mentioned it earlier. There are 3 different rooting scripts in the uis7862 section on 4pda. We are not allowed to directly link (as 4pda is also supposed to have illegal software, which is actually not true)
Edit: well, to help you a little. Search under user @gordgelin for "universal root" on 4pda

I'd like to root it because malwarebytes is getting tetchy about devicetest and believes it's cloaked adware (yota)
As it can be stopped but not disabled (extremely suspicious for a "test" app), I tend to agree and want to nuke it
Install Magisk and than flash the script, see attachment.
That worked perfectly
Thank you!!
(I'd tried following other threads and using ADB, etc - which didn't work, so I'm extremely grateful)

UIS7862 with YIN MCU, no firmware available

Hi, I just bought a chinese Android Radio, I was looking for MCU updates or rooting it but after hours of searching for a fitting MCU i couldnt find anything. I dont have any expierence with Android Head units, so maybe im looking in the wrong places. I was hoping someone on here could help me out.
Edit: CPU says it is a UIS7862 if it helps
Requested moderator move to FYT forum.
I should also add that i cannot acceces my system settings, it requieres me to put in a 4 digit code, which i dont have. Factory reseting the unit didnt work either, it just restarts everytime i try. Is there anything i can do ?
Why MCU update. It's discussed in the forum, and you the a very up to date version - more recent than mine. Are you confusing MCU to Android?

What do you mean? Do you need the Android firmware or the low-level MCU firmware? And if you need the low-level firmware: what is your manufacturer id?
And don't put your email address in if you don't want to get spammed by all kind of mail bots. Besides: a 1.3 GB firmware can't be sent via email anyway.

choose the firmware according to the type of radio screen you have, I had flashed it by mistake on my radio which is a FYT NOR and not a FYT YIN (and on restarting the radio a warning green bar indicated that it was only for YIN).
